  1. Herman look at this old thread in irv2.com it might offer some insight: https://www.irv2.com/forums/f115/bill-ds-monacoers-gathering-tampa-fl-feb-2-a-274377.html
  2. Perhaps this website will offer some insight to A/C charge requirements This for a Foretravel MH: http://www.beamalarm.com/Documents/dash_air_conditioner_refrigerant_and_oil_capacity.html I've been told a low charge will cause freezing too, but I suspect the root of your freezing is the plugged drain and low air flow. IMO it is better to reduce cooling temperature than reduce air flow.. Mine was low when we bought the MH. I bought a large can of refigerant with a pressure gauge and filled to when the gauge read in the full range. That was 2013, it's been operating great ever since.

    carfax or not

Apparently there is an alternative to carfax for RV's: https://campingwithchris.blogspot.com/2011/03/carfax-for-rvs-yes-check-this-out.html

    Parking Brake

Become familiar with the process, chock the coach, then "cage" the parking brakes. If the coach will roll, as Brett said the shoes are not stuck to the drum. NEVER attempt to disassemble or repair a spring brake canister, the spring is strong enough to cause severe injury. The potential for injury or death is so great there is a specific disposal method.

We are buyers, we own no allegiance to any company. Shop every year for the lowest price for the same coverage_or better.

    carfax or not

Carfax has only data that has been voluntarily reported to them. IMO not very useful.
  7. That would be IRS form 990 - N for a non-profit organization. That article IMO is wrong,(conjecture) the $700K was funds already spent towards the national conventions, which were advance fees received. Thus no refunds, instead vouchers were issued for future conventions.
  8. Refer to the FMCA dingy towing guide prior to buying a towed. That's how I decided on my 2013 Chevy Silverado 4x4.
  9. When buying/using a load tester, it should have the capacity to measure 1/2 the battery CCA. https://www.freeasestudyguides.com/battery-capacity-tests.html I first bought a digital load tester from HF, it died 6 months later. I then bought an analog load tester from HF, this one is 5 years old and operating as designed.

I just left Safeco for Progressive with better coverage for a lower premium. Safeco is an auto policy too; outside awnings are an add-on to the basic policy.
  11. My experience. When we decided to upgrade our tow bar to 19,000# I went to the Blue Ox website and searched for their certified dealers/installers. They listed my local mechanic's business. The total bill was almost $1,500 less than CW quote. I dropped off our MH,, 2 days later he phoned and asked me to bring my 2013 Siliverado I intended to tow. Next day he called again to tell me come pick up my vehicles/rig. (BTW he and his DW are FMCA members, travel in a 45' Country Coach towing a Jeep GC)
  12. mcbus, there is a big difference between the right thing to do and what is obliged by a contract. Suppose you were the guarantor and got paid $79 to perform your contractual obligation, which was not properly adhered to; would you volunteer to pay $900($450) out of your bank account just because it's the right thing to do? Now remove all emotions and reach your own answer.

FIVE, that's odd IMO. My MH insurance due date was 4/33/20, rates stayed the same (Safeco). I called a local independent agent who quoted me a Progressive policy with higher coverage at $100/yr less than Safeco. I made the switch today. When I called the Safeco agent, she said I should have called and told her to shop around for a different company. My response to that was; I told her IMO an independent agent should not require a customer to make the request, she should do that automatically if customer service was a priority. Side note, Safeco does not have a dedicated RV/MH policy, they issue an automobile policy and add-on enough coverage for a MH. I have my Safeco policy here in front of me. The header states: "Automobile policy declarations". then below identifies my MH.
  14. Carl is correct, their website says "nothing found" for a Spartan chassis, neither his K3 or my MM GT chassis. I doubt they would eliminate sales with an incorrect website. I checked in to them in 2015, and was told if my Spartan chassis rocked it was past time to replace the shocks.
  15. That really happened at a grocery store in Terre Haute Indiana last week. No suspects, the person was wearing a white mask and white coveralls, w/ blue gloves. Most banks have a sign requesting patrons remove hats when entering, guess that is no longer a concern.

Any progress on corner weights yet?
  17. Yeast shortage?:? That's great, now how am I gonna make more beer? Sigh_ I've still got 1/2 G of E&J brandy, guess that'll have to suffice.

  19. Sadly these forced cancellations seem to have put FMCA into an almost intenable situation by the tone of the open letter published in the magazine. The Board of Directors face very difficult decisions.
  20. I plan to do as you, if/when DW is able to travel again.
  21. Gary is in the high risk group, I hope he recovers.

  23. That would require talent! and money_.
  24. My old obsolete Xantrex RS2000 pure sine wave specs state 92%, 87% under full load. IF/when it dies, I'll buy another Xantrex unit.
