  1. If the wiper arm doesn't have a nut securing it to the stud, there will be a clip to slide back to release the wiper arm. Use a wide flat blade screw driver or some sort of pry bar with a small block of wood under the bar to provide a fulcrum. Both the wiper arm and stud are multi-splined for adjustment. Check to make sure you don't move the arm too far or it will move too far the other direction.

There are sophisticated computer programs that harvest this sort of information. A birthdate here, a city here, a state there, a street someplace else, etc. Did you know, when you post a phone number and/or email address, it is very easy to harvest that information. Have you noticed some posters will post their phone number in this format - one, 2, three, 1, two, etc or email address joe schmo at fmca dot net?
  3. As far as fuel mileage, I've towed a Toyota Avalon with a dolly, a Chevrolet Malibu and now the Jeeps. I saw no noticeable difference in mileage towing with my 38', 325hp pusher. Have you driven the Jeep Compass? I can tell you from experience, the shorter the wheel base the less comfortable the ride. I encourage you to join the Jeep Compass forum for some first hand information on the Compass.
  4. I would start by checking campgrounds in the areas you're interested in on http://www.rvparkreviews.com/. Each listing will have the campground website which should give dates of operation. Sorry, can't help you with the weather.
  5. I have a Jeep TJ and Jeep JKU that I tow but both are automatic. You might want to join one of the Jeep forums to get some direct experience or one of the more active RV forums such as iRV2. I would think if the manual gives a towing procedure the Jeep is towable but I will caution you that Jeep manuals are notorious about publishing wrong information. Good luck and I understand wanting to find an owner with direct experience towing a Jeep Compass. BTW...is this a 4-wheel drive? Sorry I'm not familiar with the Compass. There is a forum specific to Jeep Compass. http://www.myjeepcompass.com/
  6. "I also found a 2012 Jeep Compass owners manual online and it seems to say that the manual transmission is OK to tow." If the online manual states its OK, does it give you the procedure to go through?
  7. I agree with Kingfr, especially regarding the time. I installed a base plate on a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu that entailed removing the facia, headlamps plus other "stuff" and drilling a couple holes as I recall. It took less than 3 hours. I installed the Blue Ox diode tail light system that took about and hour, installed a M&G Brake that was another hour.
  8. FYI, Bill. This was posted January, 2014, and the poster never signed back on after making the post.
  9. Remember to join FCOC during your visit in Gaffney to obtain the 10% discount.
  10. It is less expensive than most dealers at $85/hour and because they are much more familiar with the chassis they take less time performing the service. Also, join the FCOC and receive a 10% discount.
  11. The best service is only a few hours from you: http://freightlinerchassis.com/Service-Locator/fccc-service-a-training/menu-id-151.html
  12. And don't put your jacks down, awnings, lawn furniture, grill, etc out. Remember, you're overnighting not camping. We use the Walmart overnighting app as well. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=my.walmart.overnightparking.abcdefinder&hl=en
  13. I think they are gaining in popularity and as the market increases the price point will continue to drop. I have a friend with one and as I recall he spent less than $200 with card, cord, mounting hardware, etc, and that was over a year ago. I believe the newness soon wore off and he no longer uses it.
  14. All the instructions I've read instruct the installer to ONLY install on the negative terminal; even the disconnect with the green knob.
  15. Jeep manuals are terribly written with either out dated or just plain wrong information. If you really think you need to disconnect the battery each time you tow, maybe you should consider installing a battery disconnect switch. There are several styles to choose from.
  16. They would need to break the lock on the bay door before getting close to the EMS. They would then need to remove the EMS from the wall where 4 screws hold it, remove the cover from the EMS, unscrew the wires from the terminals. Doable? You bet but not in "seconds".
  17. This has served me well for 7 years. http://www.progressiveindustries.net/ems_hw50c.htm
  18. Rich, you should post this on the other forum also. It'll make Kelly drool with envy.
  19. FYI... As you may be aware, we have been working to update the reviews page and this Thursday Nov 6 we are going to switch to the new look and interface. This is a substantial rewrite and so to get all content migrated we will be offline for about 24 hours. During that time you can watch for progress updates on the RVPR facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/pages/RV-Park-Revi...173223312706611 Once the new site is up there will still be tweaks to be made but our goal is to keep downtime to a minimum and so as soon and the site is navigable we will be back. We ask you to bear with us once the new site is up as we work through bugs and tweaks. Having members input on any bugs will make this process much faster and we're confident that most of them should be worked out fairly quickly. This major code rewrite should position us to add new features in the next few months that should be great additions. New features will include the ability to upload images with reviews, a new mobile platform, new profile features and functions and more privacy controls. We're really exited to finally be updating the site and the site team has been busy offering input and advice during the development process.
  20. http://rvparkreviews.com/ may be a start.
  21. What would you consider an "upscale" and "can handle big coaches" type resort?

You or another user with the same year, make, model motorhome asked this exact question October 15 and it was answered the same day.
  25. I Googled "rv driving school" and there are several but this one seems promising for you. Have you considered finding a location in AZ so you could take a lesson before getting your MH? Good luck to you and enjoy the new Tiffin. http://www.rvschool.com/school-locations/
