"txtiger", in response to your points... I am a member of FMCA because, I enjoy belonging to an association of likemineded folks, enjoying the RV lifestyle and because, 1. I really like the conventions and attend whenever possible. I enjoy socializing like most RVers. 2. I really enjoy the magazine and can't wait for it to arrive in my mailbox monthly. 3. I subscibe to FMCA Roadside Assistance and still think it's a deal and I am extremely thankful for "FMCA Travel Assist" in case something happens on the road. This all for $85 a year? What a deal!

I agree with Smithy. I for one enjoy the magazine and look forward to it's arrival monthly. I also enjoy the rallies, in fact I was really looking forward to Tuscon. We Attend about one rally a year, if not FMCA then a Winnebago rally. We are members of their club too. I will gladly take and use my credit towards a future rally as offered.

Go to www.winnebagoind.com/diagram/Wiring.htm. Click on your year and model. Lots of other great info available from Winnebago. No idea on your 60 amp question. You might want to chat with Winnebago service to get their take on this? Good luck.

Gray and Black holding tanks in Winnebago
ianbullock replied to rpchap50's topic in Water and Holding Tanks
Your black tanks should only be dumped when it is 3/4 full or more. Preferably full. Dumping it with only half or less will leave sediment in your tank. If I was you I would fill both the black and grey tank full, add 2 bottles of Thetford Camp Chem to each, let sit for 3 days then empty. Black tank first. -
Gray and Black holding tanks in Winnebago
ianbullock replied to rpchap50's topic in Water and Holding Tanks
When you dump your black tank, first of a are you dumping it when it's full and secondly are you priming with several gallons of water and adding at least 2, 8 oz bottles of Thetford Aqua Kem or Campa Chem? One should be added to the rear toilet and one to the powder room toilet. -
Summer 2020 in Nebraska is cancelled.

That's okay. We can still see the beach from the campground.

We"ve been on the road since before Christmas. Currently we're in Tucson. Due to just about every event and venue being closed due to COVID-19, we have cancelled most of our sightseeing and travels that would have taken us thru New Mexico, back to the Grand Canyon area, and over to Branson MO. Instead we're going to head out later next week to meet up with friends on Dauphin Island Alabama. We'll spend some time working on our tans and worry about what's next after that. Be advised. The biggest issue we've encountered so far is getting everyday grocery items. A lot of empty shelves out there.

Likely basement A/C on this model and year. Filter is under the bed. Lift the bed, lift the access panel, filter below. Likely a 16"x20"x1" domestic style filter, available at Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart.

Itasca water heater access
ianbullock replied to DivineIntervention's topic in Systems and Appliances
On the 2001 Suncuiser I previously owned, the check valves were accessible at the back of the water heater by crawling into the adjoining basement compartment. There are two check valves, one on the inlet, another on the outlet. Was a tight maneuver but doable... As I recall they are inexpensive, like $20 or less each. -
Well I disagree and think it's worth every penny. In the last 20 years I have used it 4 or 5 times and each time the service has been great. $74 is cheap for RA, IMHO.... To each his own, I suppose...
-
RA at $74 a year a waste? You must be kidding?

It's my understanding that FMCA roadside assistance will bring and mount a new tire for you on the roadside where you are. If you do not want this service, but prefer to be towed to a garage to have a new tire mounted there, roadside assistance will provide this service too.
-
I have seen them in use at NASCAR and IndyCar races. I don't think they really do much of anything. I mean the fumes go up but then they just come down again.
-
Richard, yeah the useful tire life could be 7 years although personally I don't go much beyond the 6 year mark. You might say I'm a little more "risk adverse" than others...😁
-
Yeah that's happened to me too, once or twice! 😁
-
Kparr, not a good deal at all. Even at the sale price, now you'll only have a potential 5 yrs use instead of 6. I wouldn't buy a tire more than 2 months old.

It's also possible that you have a leak in the roof top seam of your slide. Its possible for the water to leak behind cupboards and furniture and then come out onto the floor. This happened to me. Would suggest you get the slides roof top seams resealed.

Canadian address but zip code required by us gas stations
ianbullock replied to garyd's topic in General Discussion
Carl, yes, if we use a US dollar cc in Canada, we get the benefit of the current exchange rate which see's a discount which is something like 25 to 30% currently. If we use our Canadian dollar cc's in the US, then we see the opposite, the current exchange rate see's us paying a surcharge of 25 to 30%. We're heading south the end of next week. Got to get away from this cold weather. A slight change in plans, we decided to head further south in search of warmer weather so we're headed to Port Isabel Texas. Will be there for January and February. Then we're heading to Arizona for March to take in the sites and the FMCA convention in Tucson at the end of the month. We'll definitely need to plan to get together somewhere for a visit....
