  1. You have lots of water around your area, check the boat dealers. I have a 50 x 20 garage with power at a boat dealer's yard. He has a big building with five of us lined up with separate garages.
  2. Great batteries, but a bit pricey.
  3. I have the same set up with a single drop hitch and three bike carrier and it works fine.
  4. The CRV is a great vehicle to tow four down. The owner's manual spells out what you need to do...the stop (in our manual) to start it and run it through the gears, is eight hours, there is no mention of miles.

    Algae In Fuel

A biocide is what you need, any marine store will have it: http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?productId=14353&catalogId=10001&langId=-1&storeId=11151&storeNum=50366&subdeptNum=50396&classNum=50399
  6. The biggest hindrances to "good" MPH, assuming your engine is running right, are head winds and going too fast. All you can do is reduce your speed.
  7. By "run below diesel level" do you mean it tried to run but the fuel in the tank was too low? If so, the AH fuel system may have lost it's prime. The AH manual will tell you how to reprime and get it running again.
  8. My pump has a filter, if yours does, be sure it's clean.
  9. If you ever have a camera or GPS that quit working totally, you can access the back of the 5000 by removing the big cover. There is one screw on the front part of the windshield side of the cover. Unscfrew it and the cover comes off. Each camera and the GPS are plugged into the back of the 5000. My GPS quit working...it had come unplugged.
  10. I'm on Garmin #4, my biggest complaint is that there is either no manual or it's inside the GPS. I like to have something in my lap to which I can refer when trying to work with something like a GPS.
  11. Check out the Honda CRV, 2 wd or 4 wd and the manual explains how to prepare for "towing behind a MH."
  12. I have the AH 450-D, the manual says to use Propylene Glycol, which is a boiler type antifreeze.
  13. Just to clarify USAA, they insure some RVs and some boats, up to a certain price, then they refer you to Progressive. I do not know what that price point is. Some are hesitant to use Progressive due to their politics.
  14. It does not have to be "RV" furniture...which is way over priced since it's for "RVs." We bought a very nice small leather recliner to replace the most uncomfortable "RV" recliner I've ever sat in (made by Flexsteel), at Sams.
  15. My OEM rock guard keeps anything from hitting the front of the toad, thus eliminating the need for a car shield. Here are some pics of others: http://www.ebay.com/sch/RV-Trailer-Camper-Parts-/50067/i.html?_nkw=rock+guard
  16. Good advice, my CRV's manual says when to start it...300 miles. Many disregard these instructions, I try to stick with them, but don't all the time. For those that have toads that are not blessed by the factory to be toads...you're on your own.
  17. If on the road, the AH runs off the engine, so you are not using electric or diesel.
  18. It's hard to beat a Honda CRV, has instructions in the owner's manual (so there is no doubt you can tow it four down), plus Honda's reliability, economy, and resale value.
  19. I just have one suggestion for those with propane furnaces...Aqua Hot.
  20. Unless you are a dealer, they'll answer your email, but will not talk to a customer. Having said that, they are very responsive, it's just irritating when we have a simple question, but can't talk to anybody.
  21. If the cap alone is $26, why bother, you can get a whole new filter for less. Re Rich's post. I tried the manual's way of changing filters...prefill the primary and fill the secondary by turning the ignition key on for a minute, then off, about six times. The manual's way did not work, I now prefill both filters, but I fill them with a funnel that has a built in filter: http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?productId=100849&catalogId=10001&langId=-1&storeId=11151&storeNum=50366&subdeptNum=50396&classNum=50404
  22. My Spartan manual says that if the weight on one side of an axle exceeds the other side of the same axle by more than 5% of the total GAWR, it is necessary to redistribute the load accordingly.
  23. Translation...the V10 will be screaming bloody murder, but will do the job and you won't hurt anything.
