Yes and yes. And, if it's cold but not too cold, you can run the furnace going down the road using engine heat.

When I adust my fuel mileage for fuel used by the generator, the Aqua Hot and when idling, my computer is right on.

We always take the tow car with us. How will you get to Wally World... pack up and take the MH? How will you tour the local area? What if the MH breaks down?

Gas Buddy is a good idea. We avoid the national chains like Pilot/Flying J/Loves, etc. It's been my experience that they are very crowded, noisy, dirty and a general PITA to attempt to refuel with numerous trips inside to stand in line, give them the CC, refuel, back in line to pick up the card and sign the ticket. They advertise getting a card with them and all the money you'll save...but their "sale" price is usually what the normal price is at the regular stations. As for Murphy/Wally World, that's where I always refuel at home. I don't have the toad with me and do it on Sunday morning when there is no traffic and I can get a pump near the entrance so entering and exiting is no problem. Also, if you get a WM gift card, they take another dime of the already low price.

It is uncommon to have an algae problem providing the tank is reasonably clean, full and treated with a biocide. I used Valvtect in my boat and now in the MH. It, and other biocides can be found at most marine stores...our Wal Mart carries Sea Foam.

Like Medico, we looked at extended warranties, but for what they were asking, we could sure pay a lot of out of pocket expenses. We opted not to get one.

The bigger the coach, the heavier the coach the worse the mileage is going to be. At 42' or longer, you'll have to get a tag axle coach...more storage capacity, more weight. My coach is a model 40X which is actually 1/2" shy of 41'...it's as big as I can get without a tag. If you need or want lots of space, you'll need the bigger coach and the tag. If you don't need the storage or space, get a coach that is less than 42' and a single axle. We opted for the single axle...and have more space than we can fill.

I needed some fiberglass work on a 5th wheel and found a boat repair facility to do it. Lots more fiberglass boats around than fiberglass RVs.

I have a Power Gear leveling leveling system...it says to dump the air, then put out the jacks.

If you have a totally enclosed underbelly, it will really be hard to find a very small leak. It might not even be leaking enough to drip on the ground.

One advantage of the HH/AH is you can run them without burning propane or diesel.

My manual says not to prefill them. Tried that...wouldn't start...prefilled both and did start. So now I prefill both, but do have a portable boat fuel filter I run the diesel fuel through prior to putting it in the two Cummins filters. So I'm prefiltering the fuel before it goes in the filters for the engine. That should be enough filtering.

Going to have to differ on the mileage comment by ticat900... 80k is nothing on one of these big diesels. Just check to see that the normal maintenance has been accomplished.

Passport has lots of restrictions, but if you stay a couple of nights a year it will pay for itself.

I only stay at WM or a truck stop when travelling alone...D/W doesn't like to stay any place except a CG. For WMs, I always call ahead and ask if it is okay to park there. The only time they have said "no" was when there was a city ordinance against it, and one time when it was an old style WM with a small parking lot.

Check the maintenance records for regular oil/filter changes, gen service, fuel filters, etc.

I agree with desertdeals69, that's one reason we tow a Honda CRV.

The ISL is 8.9L and a fine engine. It is good for several hundred thousand miles and will outlast you and your coach. I don't know anything about a recall, get the engine serial number and call Cummins.

I would add to Brett's post the same comments, only how they pertain to the driver/owner and add his/her overall health, physical condition and ability.

As I stated above most of us can run for a day without running the battery down or starting it. I bought that trickle charger I mentioned and will try it on consecutive tow days. I can see the fuse to pull (#34) but it's nearly impossible to get out.

If in doubt put a couple of small space heaters down there and run the generator.

You are getting lots of advice, much of which is slightly biased because the poster has the type MH he/she is praising. I'm not saying the units discussed are not good units, it's just that there are a great many very good RVs out there from different manufacturers. Don't fall in love with the first one and don't run out an buy one because somebody on here says it is wonderful. Good luck.
