Just to add a bit more to Brett's comments. When the person behind the coach is giving you instructions and directions Always look at them. They must Always be in sight. (in giving directions remember if you can't see the driver in the mirror, they can't see you)! Crossed arms means STOP. If your parkers arm/hand points to the Right, turn the TOP of the Steering Wheel to Right. And visa versa, Arm/hand to the Left Top of the Wheel to the Left. Always remember if you can't see the person trying to direct you STOP till you can. Herman

Thanks Rich, been there done that, before we bought a coach, I couldn't even spell solenoid, probably still couldn't if it wasn't for spell check. As I said since I will pull the solenoid off the starter I will replace it but thanks for the lube information. Herman

We have a 400 Cummins ISL in our 2002 Dynasty. I recently had problems starting and finally found that both chassis batteries were bad. While in Madison when we were preparing to leave every idiot light came on but nothing from the starter. After returning from breakfast I hit the key and the engine started. No more problems for 5 days. Then the same thing. When I was having the problem before, I went as far as pulling the 55 lb. starter (not easy for someone my advanced age). I pulled the solenoid and cleaned the contacts then bench tested the starter. Is tested fine. My question is should there be some sort of lube on the plunger of the solenoid? My thinking is my solenoid is weak or my need lubricating. I plan on replacing the solenoid but wanted your thoughts. Herman

Bill, If you are concerned about freezing just put some Pink RV anti-freeze in both tanks and head South. The combination of the heated bays and the anti-freeze should keep you safe. Herman

talgutbir, I'm not trying to be a smart alec, but put the hose back on tighten the clamp and let us know how your engine preforms then. I hope that you have not pulled in too much dirt. Herman

FYI to everyone, exercise your emergency windows quit often. They become stuck and are hard to open. Be sure to have a good stable stick, board or something to prop open the window if you need to use it. We all pray that you will never have to use it. Herman

Ron, One thing I found when climbing steep inclines is to floor the throttle just as I come the the start of the hill. This get my RPMs and torque up for the climb. Also when in an area with lots of steep hills is to be sure you are out of economy mode. Herman

rwitt, When was the last time you changed to fuel filter? A filter will cause a loss in power. Also how is your boost? A stuck waste gate on the Turbo can give the same troubles. Herman

Trynforpar, Welcome to the Forum. Your 5th wheel has give you a lot of experience and you can grow from there. Lower your antenna. Don't forget to set the Parking Brake, your DP doesn't have a park position in the transmission. Do your walk around as you have always done. Oh yeah! Don't forget the DW. Experience will be your best teacher. As you will see here on the Forum we all learn something new all the time. Again welcome. Herman

Madison 2015 -- Big Disappointment
hermanmullins replied to dkreuzen's topic in FMCA Madison, Wisconsin, 2015
Sorry Steve, my comment was "some areas". As Brett said we are both from Texas and aren't familiar with every states commercial vendors laws. I felt Madison was a good Rally and the Rv'ers were well received by the community. I had some of the Hottest Mexican food I have ever had and we got some of the sweetest Sweet Corn from a truck I have had in I don't know when. Hope we will be back in a few years. Herman -
Tom, Good information about the "S"/"P" traps. I had never considered the road movement for sloshing the water from the traps. Great catch. Herman

rwitt, On our 02 Dynasty there is a fuse panel in front of the drivers tire. There are diagrams of the fuse locations. FYI your step is operated by an air cylinder. So it will be difficult to move unless you can drop the air pressure. You can drop the air pressure by pumping the air brake with the engine off. This will reduce the pressure and allow you to move the cover by hand. Don't stand in the step well when you start the engine because the cover might decide to come out! Herman

kenney58, Glad we could help. Give a shout any time. Herman

tmoore54, Welcome To the Forum. Two wheel drive vehicles with rear wheel drive may be towed 4 down. You can have a drive shaft disconnect installed. Remco Engineering makes a disconnect to fit most rear wheel drives. Give them a call. Herman

I hope not. I don't need any more problems with mine. After spending close $3,000.00 on my Aqua Hot (by another shop) I finaly have a working unit. Lloyd DeGerald got it fixed in Madison. After so much work and money Lloyd found a bad Photo Cell. Now I will follow his instructions and exercise the unit every month. Didn't know it had to be done. If you are coming to our Six-State Rally in Conroe, Texas (October 7-8-9-10) Lloyd will be there to service and repair your unit. Herman

Madison 2015 -- Big Disappointment
hermanmullins replied to dkreuzen's topic in FMCA Madison, Wisconsin, 2015
D, Sorry your experiance was less then good. FMCA tries as best they can to provide Rallies in different areas to make it accessible to as many members as possible. Some areas are just not friendly to Coach Manufactures and outside vendors. Please don't be discouraged, come to Perry next year. There will lots and lots of both coaches and vendors. The vendors there last time took three buildings for their displays and there were well over a hundred coaches on display. So please don't get discouraged come again we will try to make your visit more enjoyable . Herman -
Filling Tanks With Fresh Water
hermanmullins replied to Tyler4547's topic in Water and Holding Tanks
Tyler, Welcome to the Forum. Let get a bit more information. How are you trying to fill, gravity fill or through the city water valve? Your said, "it just comes out as overflow.". Do you mean it comes out the overflow tube/line or it comes out the gravity fill port? I know this may sound like a dumb question, but could your tank be full? Please give a bit more informations and we may be better to help with your situation. Herman -
Carl, Just the ones from Galveston. There are a number of TTs, fifth wheels and coaches for sale. But in the back there are wrecked and burned coaches that will make you say a prayer that all survived. They have a large new and used parts store. Herman

Neil, Tom has given you two very good routes. However if narrow roads and curves are not comfortable for your husband take the 71-44-65 route. Hwy 62 coming from the West into Eurika Springs is a killer with a few fairly steep climbs and one killer hairpin. So go on up 71 to Joplin, head East on I-44. Take time to stop at Cowlaws RV Salvage in Carthage and on to Springield. If you like Hunting and Fishing be sure to visit Bass Pro Shop, this is where it all started and if you love tools there is the Home Office and show room for Gorilla Tools. Then on to Branson on Hwy 65. Have a great time you are in a nice area. Herman

Dirt, Is the switch an off/on switch or momentary? If off/on who knows. If it is a momentary switch them it is a switch for the pump. The momentary the switch when pushed will either active the pump relay or deactivate it. I understand your boss wanting a outlet at the vanity. But what is the TP holder doing by the vanity? From the answers you have gotten, no one can say the Forum family doesn't have a sense of humor. When you solve the mystery let us know. Herman

It is a switch for the pump, though it may be bad. My question is, what do you need an outlet in the toilet for??? Herman
