  1. Bill, Do have a steering wheel locking pin? Do you have electronic steering? If the answer to both is no then the answer is no, you do not need to disconnect the battery. If you plan on using a braking system like a Buddy Brake you may need a charging wire for your battery. Herman
  2. I have an air chuck in my fuel tank area on the driver's. There is pressure with or without the engine running. However with the engine off the pressure goes down quickly. I believe the air chuck under the front cowl is for towing to keep the park brake from setting if there is a drop in pressure when being towed. Herman

  4. Carl, It is amazing what you can do when you have a 65 lb. starter that may or may not drop on your head. What is even worse is when you get it up and almost get stuck in and find you need to lower it and rotate into the correct position. Now if you would work out more you could get that up to 65 lbs. Herman

  6. Agree with Bill. Locate where you would like the panels to be mounted, making sure you have a good route for the cable. Drill and screw the panels down and cover each bracket with the proper sealant. Be sure the sealant is compatible with your Rubber membrane. Drill, seal and charge away. Herman
  7. Tom, Also Welcome to the Forum. Let me add a third possibility to the mix, Solenoids. There are 4 in the mix. Two are in your front panel, they both are controlled by the key. One is for the instrument panel and the other is for the starter. A third is in the rear to control power to the Starter solenoid. And the forth is the Starter Solenoid itself. All can be tested with a volt meter. The first three are 12 volt continuous (S55) and the forth is on the starter. With the key on test for front two for 12 + volts on both the large terminals of the solenoid. If you have voltage on both sides, then go to the rear and check the solenoid there (you will need someone to turn the key to check this one. If you have voltage on these three solenoids it is very possible you have a defective starter solenoid. This is the procedure I just followed to find that my Starter Solenoid was intermittently bad. I also found that at my age I can still bench press 65 lbs., the weight of the starter. Good luck and let us know what you find. Herman

  10. Mark, my pad has several red, orange lights and 1 green. Green = Travel. When I hit Air I get 4 reds if the coach level. If the coach is not level I get a orange light where it needs leaving. I then hit the Air button the second time to auto level the coach. The Red Air light will flash till level and the Orange light will go out and the Air light goes to solid red. They have no bearing on the charging system. Herman
  11. I found the sensor goes on the negative terminal. It may also be attached to the side of one of batteries. Now I have to inspect the wire put on a new lug and stop over charging the house batteries. Herman
  12. Brett can this be done by just disconnecting the shore power and disconnecting the batteries at the posts? Herman

    I would also have all the steering components checked out, King Pins or Ball Joints, Tie Rod ends, Drag Link and ever thing else. Also does it happen on rough roads only or on both rough and smooth alike? Have the tires inspected for possible tread separation. This can happen to best of tires. Yes, you can have the tires balanced on the vehicle, but it is difficult finding a place to do it. If you have them taken off to balance have them check for run out. Sometimes it is a simple as having the bead reset on the rim. Good luck and let us know what you find. Herman
  16. Golfer, You can use two sider tape. Brackets for your ladder. Suction cups to mount it on the inside of your windshield. If your state only has one license plate you could mount it where the front license plate goes. I went to Fast Signs and had them make me decals. They can make them to stick on either the inside on the windshield or outside to stick where ever you would like. I even had them make me several smaller ones for my tow vehicle and golf cart.   17. Oh yeah, I remember now. Then I also need to ask, has Wayne's had the wandering for 6 years and is just know seeking an answer? Wayne, Where and when did you have your coach aligned? How old are your tires? Did this just become a problem or is it an on going problem? I don't know if Coaches have the same problem as cars did several year ago, but there use to be a slight indent in the steering box when the box was centered. The wandering might be in the steering box trying to center it self. (just an ole man's thoughts) Herman
  18. cadieu, A tire with a loss band will cause the wandering. The steering wheel not straight is an issue with the tech that aligned your coach. Can you go back? Herman
  19. Since you have already installed the new unit, I would check it for heat. If there is still an excess amount of heat you might consider raising the unit so air can circulate all around the unit. or maybe install a small cooling fan like in your PC. Herman
  20. Since it is the weekend I thought I would check with the experts. Now I will take my own advise and call Trace Tech Service Monday. Sounds like I have said that to a lot of folks.
  21. I have a Trace RV2012 2000 watt inverter in our 2002 Dynasty. There is a wire going to the coach batteries which I believe is for the battery temp. It has a lug on the end of the wire. Does anyone know where it attaches to the battery/batteries? I have tried to get a wiring diagram from Trace to no avail. Anyone have an idea? Herman
  22. rfsod48, Each should have their own switch. If both were on the same switch it would draw down both the house and chassis batteries at the same time. This could lead to a dead chassis battery. Herman
  23. Just a thought, if you mount a pancake compressor you could keep it in a bay plugged in and add a set of air horns Herman
  24. Arthur, There are numbers on you headlights. Goggle it and you should be able to find the mfg.and what they went on. Herman
