  1. ottfamily, Welcome to the forum. The first thing I would do is weight everything, including the coach. add them all up to see what your gross weight would be. Then check the Gross Weight Rating on you coach. Even if you are within the limits, all of those thing might be a real strain on a 34 foot gas coach. As for brakes on the Jeep, Yes. In Colorado anything being towed that is over 3,000 lbs. is required to have auxiliary brakes. Also be sure you receiver hitch is rated for the weight and you have a tow bar also rated for the weight. Be sure that your tow bar in within 2 inches, plus or minus, of level, and your tow vehicle is wired with lights. Good luck and again Welcome. Herman
  2. ranchmink, There have to be people out there that hate meeting you going down the highway on a bright sunny day. The glare off that beautiful coach must be really bright. You should be proud of the work you have done. It would be a nice unit to display at a national rally. Herman
  3. kengrace, Welcome to the Forum. Even if a certain model is discontinued or the company goes out of business, parts will still be available. Fleetwood, though they manufacture/ assemble a coach doesn't mean they make every part. They will install engines from Ford, GM, Cummins and so forth. The transmission from Allison, the axle from several companies. The motor home Mfg. may make the body aka shell, but the others will still be in business and have parts you can still acquire. Find a coach that has most of what you like, that has been well cared for and is in a price range you can handle. So let your conscience be your guide. Herman
  4. Wayne, For things like gaskets you can purchase thin rubber from several places. I use a place in Dallas, Texas Rubber Products. They have a area where they sell drops from production jobs. It can be 1/16' by 2" by 30' or something like that. I just go in find what I think will work and pay a very reasonable price. There may a place like that near you, Houston isn't it? Herman
  5. drakegirl, Bad switch, loose wire, faulty ground. Had same problem on my 98 Monaco and found the ground wire connector was loose, squeezed the connector a bit and problem was solved. Herman
  6. s2, Welcome to the Forum. Winegard makes some very nice Satellite dishes however there is one problem with an in-motion satellite dish. It only has 1 LNB and can receive only one satellite at a time. Just because you have two receivers doesn't mean you can watch CBS on one TV and HGTV on the other. If it were me, and I am going to do it this year, I would have installed an open, three LNB and auto seeking dish. With this setup you wont have in-motion but will be able to watch any channel on either TV. Herman
  7. rameller, Is your tire wearing out all the way around or cupping? Severe wearing on only one tire and on one side is an indication of Positive Top Camber. Again contact Monaco with your coach number and ask them for your alignment specifications. Although the shop close to you has 4 wheel laser alignment can they do motor homes? If yes and you trust them take the specs. to them and let them align you coach. FYI the specs for our 2002 Dynasty camber is: Left 0 degrees (+ or- 7/16 degrees) Right -1/4 degrees (+ or - 7/16 degrees). Herman
  8. Roy, Sorry I can't speak for the Brakes. Registration is on a reciprocal agreement between states. The one thing I understand that if going into Canada you may need to have brakes regardless what your state's requirements are. The way it reads is "if the trailer exceeds 10,000 lbs." brakes are required. My suggestion would to check with your insurance company and ask that if you were involved in an accident and didn't have brakes on your tow dolly/tow vehicle would they pay? Herman
  9. Roy, If your state does not require tags on the Tow Dolly then other states will abide by your states requirements. As far as brakes go, the information I have shows that in Massachusetts, Trailer Brakes Required if Trailer exceeds 10,000 lbs. That is the highest of the 50 states. Herman
  10. bigred1cav, Check with your local DPS and or Sheriffs Office. They have Weights and Measurer Officers. You might get either or both to agree to weigh your unit possibly as a training session for officers. Herman
  11. da.dave, Sorry for your problem trying to register on line. FMCA has recently gone to a completely new computer system. For the past week to ten days there have been issues that did not allow you to log on. That situation has been fixed so try going on and joining. Give FMCA a call at (513) 474-3622 or (800) 543-3622 and be surprised when a real person answers the phone and sounds like they really would like to help you. FMCA has the finest staff in the world. 12. Very good advise. When ever you have to replace a component on any vehicle that is difficult to get to, always replace any thing else that can be replaced. If there is another belt behind the one your are replacing change it to. In once not twice or three times. Herman
  13. Montie, I too had tires that had aged out but had sidewalls that looked brand new. After the tires were off the rims I inspected them and found that there were very large and deep cracking down between the tread all the way around. I always err on the side of Safety. Herman
  14. Joe, The air filter on our 2002 Dynasty 400HP is a Donaldson P53744802 (MP2329). The story I told was on our 1998 Monaco Windsor 300 HP. The number I listed is the filter for our 400HP but I think it is the same filter as the 98. Herman
  15. rwitt, If you separated the breakers and the one for the center A/C tripped then for me it would time for a call for a tech. Hopefully to other two A/Cs are able to keep you comfortable till the third unit can be repaired. Good luck and keep cool . Herman
  16. Take your filter part number to NASCO. The International House that does the PM on my Coach told me he couldn't find the P/N for my filter. I found it my Information Box. He took the number, called NASCO who crossed referenced to number for Inter. Dealer. NASCO Also said they had 3 in stock. The International Part Man said he could get it but would take 10 to 12 days. So I told him I would go to NASCO, and he said lets keep them honest and that his price was $109.00. Went to NASCO with P/N and they pulled it up and said the price would be $195.00. Said thanks but Inter. was 109 and I would go have them order one. Parts man said, "let see what I can do". He then quoted me $86.00. he knocked off the price for the one from Intern. And when he brought it out the box had more dust on it then Noah's Arc. I will bet you that he still has the other 2 in stock. Herman
  17. Markstella, Look at the relay and see if there is a number on it. Then goggle it, you may find several sources for one. Herman
  18. ObedB Check with Northern Tool or Harbor Freight. I have seen them advertised at both. Herman
  19. Miramichi Cruiser, Check with RV Salvage lots. There are quite a few out there. If you happen to be close to Carthage. MO on I-44 stop in at Colaws RV Salvage. If I remember they have boxes of round light fixtures. Also check with place that remodel coaches they may have light left over from remodels. Herman
  20. rwitt, Welcome to the Forum. On a dual breaker the two breakers are connected by a clip on cover. Remove the cover and you now have two single 20 amp breakers. Run both units and see which one might be tripping the breaker. This way you can narrow down which unit my be the cause of your problem. Another thought, does this happen when on the generator or shore power or on both? Also check the fins on both units just to make sure that by some strange event they have gotten bent over causing a restricted air flow. This happened to a number of folks a couple of years ago in Gillette. Hope you find your problem now is not the time to be out of A/C. Herman
  21. Lyle, If I have you confused by adding air to your tire each night , just wait till I sneak in each night and lower your pressure . Herman
  22. ObedB, I am fortunate to have my batteries on slide trays. And I used the old squeeze bulb to fill my batteries until I made my self a simple, but effective, filler. I got a one gallon pump up sprayer. I took off the spray nozzle put a bend in the line, put in distilled water pump it up and fill away. Works like a charm for me. Herman
  23. Chuck, Glad we could help. Herman
  24. Your distributor may have a stuck centrifugal advance. Herman
