  1. You have the right guy give me a call if you like Colorado Yes I do tote a big trailer 24 foot Featherlite about 8000 pounds last year and use a "Trailer Toad" trailertoad.com 3500 pounder. It works great. I also converted it to disc brakes for incredible stopping. The trailer brakes will stop the coach at lower speeds and work great all around. Yes have had a few times where the length was an issue. i am a driver and can back up and have numerous times to great amusement of bystanders.. Since you have not bought th DP yet have a look at a 2001 Safari Zanzibar I have for sale at RVT,com 2001 Safari Zanzibar It has 50 k on it 2 slides and powerd by CAT 330. It was a great coach still is but I bought another Safari. It is their top of the line in 99 with 12K on it. The RVT site has a link to a hundred photos Regards, Bill Edwards J Please send me a note from another email address other than outlook as it is not deliverable back to you from any that I have all go into a error mode. I will send you my number
  2. My experience with beads or what ever they call the stuff was not good. It was all clumped up inside from moisture. Moisture is a normal by product of compressing air unless the system is equipped with a drier which removes it. Many tire shops appear have a hard time draining it from the compressors so it builds up and ends up in our tires. I do not know if many have driers. Consequently I am not a fan of beads. I am a fan of Centramatics and the idea behind them. All of that said I just stopped at the shop in Oregon, (I'm in Colorado) that installed the Goodyears on the Panther I bought a couple years ago to find out what and how he balanced the tires expecting beads. I told him I wanted to put on the Centramatics. He told me he used a liquid!!!! Can you imagine the look on my face! What a liquid, it is new and appears to work just fine. I have know idea what it is, its corrosive nature to aluminum rims... I have no idea what I am going to do yet but that s contrary to every thing I know. I will say the coach is smooth as glass and the Centramatics hang nicely on the wall.
  3. Yup with a drier it adds another dimension and but makes the regulators last longer. I added the drier to my coach. They do require some maintenance and in coaches suspect many are over looked. Joe what should the service interval be on a coach. I have one where the filter is a spin on unit. I forgot to ask when i got it. B
  4. Location, location, location is the secret. So where would the best place to locate the extinguisher. Where do most fires start? In My Safari Panther the boiler flue was pointed straight up and at wood framing. There was no damage but I have seen evidence of hot on other coaches. My solution for this was to fabricate an offset to the flue using a short straight piece of 1 inch thin wall copper pipe and a couple 45 degree street Ells to move the outlet 4 inches and directly under the opening of the refrigerator vent box. Under normal operation there is not really much heat and I did not solder it together.
  5. I carry a spare just because this happens and it happens to truckers all the time. It happens most often to rigs with out a moisture purging device that works automatically. The regulators are very inexpensive
  6. And "Frontsite" is????????????
  7. All it takes to have the nice smell is scuff the surface a bit and it will continue...i know a bit dusty and you have to remove the contents...been there done that. Make the closet tighter. By the way looks great!
  8. and as Brett suggests they will last longer with greater amp hours. Batteries are one place you get what you pay for. The problem with batteries not lasing is due in large part to inadequate charging and that is not generally the consumers fault. It appears that common replacement times fall around 3 years give or take a bit. How often do car batteries get replaced...not that often for sure.
  9. Joe I have the same issue with the Blue OX I have now...no parts. I wanted to rehab the primary center joint and one part not available for a $900 bar 6 years old. Fortunately It came with the Z so no real cost but still now I will have a machinist make one part for me, still, it is frustrating. When the time comes I will look at Roadmaster.
  10. Can you send me a contact number as we will very likely be through Pahrump or at least 95 heading South. I have a 356 Porsche to deliver sometime in Dec in Reno. I will ship it and then meet it for delivery. I need to have it completed before heading to AZ. Dropping to P gets me away from Vegas and a bresak point and I do not know that I have been south that way to boot. On top of that we will have friends from Eastern Oregon that travel south using 95 as well if weather does not get them like last year. I too am a Navy Vet though not career. I have not used the services as of yet. I am very healthy for my age group (72) but have a real case of Arthritis the will be the big problem in the next ten years. Janet is healthy as can be and a few years younger than me. I expect to sell the property I/we own in Colorado in the near future and then will determine rhe residency issue. Currently only plated in Montana. What did you find from the forum on Bike covers? Thought of that when I bought a rack for my bike yesterday. 11. Generally by opening the door in my coach..
  12. That is good because I do not want to be left behind...I am in good company. B
  13. I am headed that way and I will check it out and see what chaos I can cause!!!
  14. There are several of these converters out there. Go to a body shop supply house and buy a small bottle of SEM rust Mort or Rust seal. The small bottle will go a very long way to dealing with the issue. The gallon jug will be enough for two body shops for 5 years of frequent use. After dry the rust will turn black, you can apply a second coat if you like and then just spray paint t with Rustolium as Herman suggested or leave it as it is. If you are in the Southwest the rusting action will be come nil. Note: I am doing the same to my coach B
  15. I used Montana and plates are well not expensive and depending on the year of your coach may be one time permanent.
  16. When will you be in AZ? We will leave Denver the first of JAN.
  17. In the hardware isle in the drawers are round nylon spacers from a 1/4 to 1" PERFECT for this need.
  18. The best part of this system I am using is that one can run with it or turn it off completely from the drivers seat. It is controlled electrically with a switch! It is not adjustable from the cockpit cabin. Took me about three hours to install. Bill A I will try and synopsis this in a new thread related to it soon B
  19. Carl, Quite the contrary on rigs built after 2007 it cleans up the emissions further., it does all the same stuff i get with an older engine, more power, more torque, more go better mileage. I do not think NOX is in the picture and I am not after the go just the mileage. Just realized you have a big boy engine...should have known...just trying to push your button anyway B
  20. Yes Herman, It works just fine but It needs a lube before we head out in a week...one of those items on my list. I will do it and then if I find something odd then I will send it to them before the long Easter Texas drive. Thanks B
  21. I just order the newest and greatest from M&G including the break away for the Panther and a little 2004 Chevy Tracker. Silly little car but 4 wheel drive, adequate power from the little V6, plenty of clearance except when you compare it to Carl's Jeep. It is light at 2800 pounds and cost $3,500 as a disposable vehicle and at a 100,000 miles it should go another 100 with care. We were impressed last winter as we were riders in one of these over 200 miles in the sandy southwest. We are using a Blue Ox base plate and the aluminum tow bar from Blue Ox that came with the Zanzibar 6 years ago...really nice.
  22. Ah Propane an otherwise hallucinogenic gas with a pungent stinky odor that burns blue and combined with diesel makes lots a power... Carl, the foot controls consumption and I suppose from start and barely any thing to flat on the floor perhaps exponentially. The use in a coach for most probably not exponentially any more than the use of diesel. Does the consumption of diesel go up exponentially if you drive faster than the other guy, probably not. The 100 miles per gallon is, I am guessing, from over the years, the number they have arrived at from feedback. It is going to be a function of driving style, prudent and conservative versus aggressive and h.ll bent on getting there. Boost PSI is the determining factor in the volume of propane gas delivered. That said one who drives with an indicated average boost of 10 PSI is going to get better economy than the character driving h.ll bent on getting there averaging 15 PSI of boost. You little engine probably will get better mileage than mine but your coach is taller and heavier, but my coach is shorter and lighter with a really big engine...likely the same at the end.
  23. Brett, I will if it is OK now to start another thread with this topic where the later info or topic will be searchable?
