I used to have that same thought and then it happened. At a military campground and in order to have the perfect spot I had to not only parallel park on a pad but I also had to keep from running over the sewer drain about 3 inches out of the ground. When I took my CDL back in the 80's (now converted to a Non-CDL) I only had to back up in a straight line and not parallel park. Fortunately the years of experience let me maneuver when I had to for the good spot. I ALWAYS use a ground guide, My dear wife and she does a good job at it. My backup camera has a microphone so I can also hear her. Just remember when a Texan says, "Whoa" it means "Stop."

On our way home this week I stopped on I-10 in Schulenburg, TX. for diesel. When I got out of the coach and looked at the pump it said B20 biodiesel. I decided to go to another station and that station was running B18 biodiesel. I asked a trucker next to me if he knew where I could get Diesel #2 without Bio, or just B5 and he said that all the stations now are running up to B20. I needed fuel an put in $50 to get us home. Glad I did as it took 7 hours to go 205 miles. I-10 was closed further down the road and the detour was US-90 with stop signs and traffic lights that backed up I-10 for miles behind us. Anyhow, what's the take on Biodiesel, B20 or less.

Colorado Springs, CO, to Amarillo, TX. Roads in CO were good, Roads in TX (US-287) was good. Avoid US-287 in Oklahoma if you can. That stretch of US-287 across the Oklahoma panhandle is the worst we have ever been on. It is a continuous bump. We had to slow down to 50-55 so the bumps would appear to be further apart. The rest of US-287 has some rough spots in cities but for the most part it was good.

I"m not as lucky. My problems started in 2010 and many, many service (attempted) repairs, including the Winnebago Service Center in IA, has not resolved the problem. I put a switch on the power to the control board to stop the alarm. I have been assured this will not cause any problems and to date it has not. My next stop in the spring of 2017 will be the main Lippert Service Center and either get them fixed or a complete replacement. It is a long story if anyone is interested. David, I hope you get your jack problem resolved soon.

Something has to tell they computer that the jacks are up. On my system (not HWH) there are magnetic switches at the top of the jack and when they are up the switch shunts to ground. There is a pin on my control board that should show continuity when checked to ground. With that said, the best approach on this is to call HWH and get their input. It could be something simple. Call them.

I have Kwikee steps and all parts are metal. Is it because the RV's are older that they have plastic parts. Just curious.

We just finished the 101 from LA to Fort Lewis, WA. We did not go up around to Port Angeles but instead cut across 12 and 8. There were no restrictions on the 101. I don't think you will find any the direction that you mentioned, however, you can call the highway patrol non emergency number and they will give you information. I did that for one highway I was going to go on and they helped me decide. With that said there were parts of the 101 that were twisty-turney and up-and-down but doable. We were in a 40' MH towing the Lincoln MKX. Just remember to use the turnouts and other areas of the highway to pull over and let traffic pass. There were times we got a thank you honk (I think that was what it was) and a wave through a roof top opening (not a finger wave)

Carl, Two different systems for golf carts, 36 volts and 48 volt hence 6 batteries versus 8. I was wrong onc.....er...mistaken once.

This is my 3rd battery. Original and about 1 year later a new one, and now another one and they just go bad. This present battery's diagnostic was that it would not hold a charge. That was the same as the 1st and 2nd battery. I had pondered that the TOADs brake lights could have been drawing the battery down but then realized that I have a diode system with separate wiring from the MH and not using the TOADs battery for braking. I also stop every 2 hours and start and run the engine for 5 minutes or a little longer but with a battery that will not hold a charge - just doesn't work. I'm going to get some type of charge line. Frustrating to arrive and not be able to start the TOAD.

I'm of a different sentiment than Tom or Brett. I have been using truck stops every since having a diesel, first 1 ton pulling a Montana and then the 40' MH pulling a TOAD. I have never had a problem at a truck stop. With that said I have the PFJ card. Pull up to the pump, swipe the card, enter you pin, pump fuel and if you want a receipt go in side other wise just pull out and travel. Direct draft from bank account every month. I'm sorry but I just don't want to take the time to hunt for an independent station that I may not be able to get into and then hunt for another one. Also, the PFJ card gets up to 8 cents off on the price. It may not be as cheap a other places but sure is a heck of a lot more convenient. In regards to the OP, yes there have been reports of the "down tube" being bent at an angle that restricts the flow of fuel and cuts the flow off, just like when it reaches full, but that never has shut the pump off and just a re-start of the pump handle usually takes care of it. The other "fix" was to control the flow by hand so the fuel does not build up in the neck and shut the nozzle off. In my present MH I do not have this problem and I always run the pump on the first notch of the pump handle, go about cleaning windshield and then go back to the pump. If it has shut off the foam build up should have subsided and I'll manually control the pump until I hear the "gurgle." The foam build up can stop several gallons of fuel from being pumped in and I want all I can get. Anyhow, that's my 2 cents worth.

Gary, Progressive Industries also makes the hardwired protectors. (EMS-HW50C) BTW, The company stands behind their product. Also, the PT or HW 50C will not pass power to the RV unless the circuit is okay. There is a display on the PT50C that cycles showing the condition of the circuit. (Voltage, amperage and status) It has about a 2 minute time delay while it checks the circuit. I like the portable one because it can be transferred between RV's without a hassle.

I have the EMS PT50C by Progressive Industries. Pricey but worth every penny. Plug it in and it cycles through each leg of the pedestal power and displays voltage, then amps for each leg, then a status code of E-0 if everything is alright. Other error codes will come up if anything is wrong with the power. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

Are you using an IR sender or RF? RF is much better than the IR and to my knowledge Dish receivers are capable of either one. IR needs direct line of site. RF, well I just point mine at the ceiling and the channel changes. Or point it anywhere.

Some states leave their scales on when they are closed. I used some in Oregon while traveling on the West Coast to get my corner weights. Also look at the Escapee's as they have different areas that weigh 4 corners.

I replaced a 117 pound TV with an LCD TV fitted into a 36" space. I drove the salespeople crazy when they watched me measuring the outside areas. They would walk over and tell me that the measurement was for inside the frame and diagonal. Anyhow I put a 36" television in where a 30" television lived and had 4" boarders around the picture tube. I installed a full articulating arm and since the speakers are on the bottom I unstrap (for protection it is strapped in when we are rolling) and pull it out making the speakers audible. One thing that has happened is that the hardware technology is changing. The television I purchase does not have the typical RCA connectors (Red/White push on) so I cannot hook it up to my old (2008) combination entertainment unit for surround sound audio. One day I'll replace that with newer technology. (But then the TV will be outdated.) Good luck.

I first tried the metal flexible stem extensions. Had a problelm with one of them leaking, not at the valve but where the braid joined the holder for the valve. Got rid of them quickly There is a company called Dually Valve. Here is a link to their web site Dually Valve. The set of valves may seem to be pricey but I can state that they are worth every penny. Bill Falkenborg passed into the Lords hands back in June but Kelli will answer the phone and she is very knowledgeable. These valve stems will make any inflation accessible without reaching into the wheel. For the fronts I got a valve that is almost a 180 U-shape. For the rear I got a straight through for the inside and another 180 or so for the outside. All my monitor sensors are easily accessible. I am not associated in any way with Dually Valve.
