Is there two types of memberships, one to access the forum and one for the FMCA site? It could be set up that way. -

The best portable air compressor/ tire inflator?
wayne77590 replied to jbarringer's topic in Electronics
You don't have any information in your signature line indicating what type of RV you have. Any motorhome with air brakes will have a fitting that a tow driver can plug into to release the brakes. That same fitting will usually take a quick disconnect male/female, depending on the specific configuration. There are different size quick disconnects so that is what bill was referring to about the correct size. If you don't have air brakes, it's a moot point! -
The best portable air compressor/ tire inflator?
wayne77590 replied to jbarringer's topic in Electronics
Here at the house I have a pancake (Craftsman) 150 psi compressor. It has not problem inflating to 120 psi. May take a few minutes but works well. For on the road, if needed, I use the built in onboard air chuck supply output that towing companies have to use to tow the MH. I carry a 50 foot air hose. Start the engine and let it inflate. Takes longer, but works. I aired up about 1 month ago and checked before travel yesterday to come home and tires were only down 1 to 2 psi. Not anything to worry about. If you are loosing a lot of air after a period of time you need to start checking the reason why. I've gone 3 to 5 months in storage with only a 5 psi drop in pressure and that was due to the freeze that came through this area. -
FMCA RV Ins - Progressive Ins. bad claim experience
wayne77590 replied to rstradling's topic in RV Insurance
Wow! I have been with progressive for over a decade. In 2015 a hail storm damaged out roof on our 2008. Progressive never even balked and paid out $19,000 for a new roof. In 2017 we lost that 2008 to Hurricane Harvey. It was totaled. Progressive paid me what I paid for it..no depreciation. I may pay a little more for premiums but it is well worth it. I highly recommend Progressive Insurance. Now for some enlightenment..There is a clause in their policy that states the frequency of checking the motorhome. In storage I had mice or something get in and eat some water lines. Had I not gone to my storage unit every two weeks and checked on my MH the claim would have been denied. Because of my diligence they paid for the repairs. So, make sure you read the entire policy and understand it, -

We had our driveway removed and replaced with a 45 x 24 foot, 6 inch, rebar, and 8" piers on the edges, and also a 30 foot sidewalk in 2017 for $8000. -
X2 on the Safe-T-Plus steering stabilizer. Great device.

Erniee, I actually was able to keep a straight face when she told me..but inside my memory of my wallet was crying. -
I just bought a 30# for the house. I used a dolly to get it from the front yard to the back yard. i can manage it for a short distance but with caution at the 79 year old body. Coach has a 27# on board tank. Purchased MH in 2017 and is just now down to 3/4 full. Only thing it is used for is a 3 burner stove inside the MH.

Took it to the shop this morning, 5 hours later the SCR Output sensor was replaced. Part cost $196 and had to be picked up in Waco, about an hour's drive. They had the part at 7 a.m. this morning and we were in the service spot at that time. Four and one half hours later, after parked regen it was ready to go. I told Earlene she owed me $19.91. She asked why and I said that it took all of her stimulus money so I had to dip into mine. Their labor rate is $155 for trucks, and $190 for labor. Total bill was $1419.91 after taxes. I will say this, the Bryan, Texas Freightliner on State Highway 6 was exceptional for getting us in, analyzing, fixing and getting us out. It was above and beyond what they could have done. Lucky there was a good technician that needed a few hours of work because they did have a large work load. -
A few months ago I puchased a 36" 5 burner griddle. Not a Blackstone. I was very impressed on what you can do on it. In hind site I wish I had purchased a 4 burner Blackstone. For the MH I purchased a 22" Blackstone Adventure. I'm looking forward to cooking on it. If anyone is in the market for a new cook stove I would recommend a Blackstone griddle. Walmart is a major supplier and has lots of accessories. Lowe's and Home Depot are another source. Cleaning takes less than 2 minutes. Scrape, if needed a little water for steam and scrape again. dry, light coat of cooking oil...ready to go,

Bill, we just left Big Chief RV park yesterday on Lake Buc... Presently at Hidden Creek in Bryan. Come in "de-rated" as the check engine light was on. Pulled into Freightliner and they diagnosed it to the output sensor on the after treatment...whatever that means, -
I have GS, FMCA, Passport America (PPA), AARP, TACO (Texas Association of Campground Owners), and I think a few more that I don't remember. Wherever I am I use the on that gives me the best bang for the buck! I usually ask if they have discounts and when they mention one I haven't mentioned, I'll say, "Oh yes, I do have that one!" Then I go digging for it.

With only a 0.172 inch difference I would think the grommet would make the difference for hole size.

For those who only have one drink a day!

Valve stems can be 0.453 inches in diameter or 0.625 inches in diameter. Typically the 0.453 is the norm for our HP engines but as you get up to the much higher commercial HP vehicles it is the 0.625 size. If you have the larger size I would think it was a mistake or someone didn't have the normal size and stuck in the larger size. Tireman - check in please.

Auto Changeover LP regulator failures
wayne77590 replied to acousticart's topic in Systems and Appliances
Gosh Bill, that was back in 2007! How old is your RV? Oh, I know, Newmar had not caught up with the technology quite yet. 😈 I now have a 27 gallon tank on the MH. We have had it since Sep 2017 and the tank is just now reading 3/4 full. Of course, I only have a 3 burner gas stove and nothing else on propane. The next year up they started putting 20 gallon portable tanks in. I think my MY was a custom build on the stove as most came with the induction tops. My outside kitchen has an induction top..now sitting on my patio with other cooking instruments. -
Auto Changeover LP regulator failures
wayne77590 replied to acousticart's topic in Systems and Appliances
My experience with an automatic change over regulator was not knowing it changed over and waking up at 2 a.m. freezing when we had our 5th wheel. From that time on I would rather wake up at 2 a.m. and go turn the other tank on than be without! JMHO -

Mike, we have reservations in Shipshewana, IN for the month of August and we need to start checking along our route for places to stay. Going via 20 miles west of Atlanta, then up. You are right, in the past it was easy to travel and make reservations along the way. It is different now with the influx of people who have bought RV's and are living in them full time. More and more are finding out that $500-600 a month is cheaper than owning a house. So many parks are now filled with full timers. I don't blame them but I wish there were limits so everyone would have to move around after a period of time. It would make it easier for us temporary travel people. We wanted to go to Flagstaff before the COVID stuff. Called to make reservations and they said they were full of permanent campers. It was because of the oil fields. They said that we wouldn't find a place within 90 miles of FS. We cancelled the trip. -
I always use the Hamilton Fish Newburgh–Beacon Bridge (i-84). Did the GW back in '70 or so in a car. What a pile up.

Who, What, When, Where or Just Lets Talk
wayne77590 replied to hermanmullins's topic in General Discussion
Wow! Went into a Harbor Freight yesterday and outside there were two 12 x 18" signs on stands and signs on the windows and doors that stated, "Masks Required For Entry." I go inside and there are 6 customers without masks on or even one in their possession. I asked a sales rep about it and they replied that they were not able to say anything due to corporate policy. Well duh! Corporate, take the signs down if you are not going to enforce them. Sheesh! I mean, why have a sign if you are not going to enforce it. Don't know if anyone saw it but a woman in Galveston wen into a bank without a mask. She was asked to put a mask on and she refused They told her to leave and she wouldn't so the asked the police officer to assist. She resisted arrest and is now charged with that, and trespassing. Yeah! -
This is the "+" or multiple quotes By hitting the "+" it added both of your posts to my post and I can respond by typing in between or altogether. Richard identified the pop-up.

Carl, they have a 33-36" size listed on their web site. Not sure if there is an RV with that size, but possible.
