I wouldn't worry about running your dash air. Same basic system but different refrigerant. If you worked on the R-12 systems you could work on your R-134 system you just need different gages and the proper refrigerant. I hear of few problems with dash air. They really have gotten better in the last 40 years. So run that dash air and enjoy. Bill

Sounds like a good plan to me. I have had people just stare when I tell them we are going some place (say Maine next summer) and they say how long will it take you and I say I don't know. Then the question is when will you be back, I git weird looks when I say before Thanksgiving. Most people can't imagine being gone for more than 2 weeks maybe 3 at the most. Like some have said it is nice to travel at your own pace, if you see something interesting stop and explore it. Bill

Going down the coast is warmer. I would look at 90 west to 395 south to 182 around Kennewick to 82 and then follow 84 to Portland then I-5 down to Albany and take 20 to the coast. Or you can just go down I-5 and hope the pass is clear. Bill

Welcome to the forum. I would think going down the 101 would offer the best weather. After you get down into Calafornia you could move to I-5 to LA you can use the 210 around LA then take I-10 into Phoenix. Bill

That is good for removal but most say not to use them to torque lug nuts. I want the ability to do my own removal and installation just because. The main reason is I don't want to take it to someone if I need to do maintenance items that require the removal of a wheel. brakes seals etc. Bill

When I had my new Michelin tiers installed it was at a truck place and I caught the guy installing the rims on my CR-V like it was a truck with the big impact wrench. I told him to take them all lose and torque to the 80 foot pounds specced my Honda. Some places just don't know. Bill

Welcome to the forum. Where in the "Southern Tier" do you live. I spent some time this last summer at Chautauqua lake. I would recommend looking for a side radiator it makes access better than a rear radiator. It wouldn't be a deal breaker for me as I have a rear radiator coach and haven't had any problems with access. You should not get hung up on the 500HP or nothing matra as most coaches are not going to have that engine. All diesel coaches have enough power to climb any hill you just need to learn to drive them. Yes the 500hp coach will need to downshift to make it over some hills. Bill

Dan'l, What year range are you looking at? One of the first things you might do is go to PPL and download the booklet 8 mistakes to avoid when buying a motorhome. Most coaches come with a queen or short queen bed. Simple way I used to add some length is to stuff a couple pillows between the mattress and the wall. Or just buy a coach with a king size bed. Bill
