Welcome to the forum. Where are you coming from? Basically Death Valley is one way in and back out the same way. Allso I don't see a good direct road to it from Joshua Tree National Park. You might (depending on where you are coming from) do one park on the way into Ca and the other on the way out. I was that way two months ago, we came in on 15 to Barstow then 58 to Bakersfield because we were headed north to Fresno, Kings Canyon, Yosemite area. The best road in is 120 from the West. But I am rambling I can't make a recommendation till I know where you are coming from and what road. Do not confuse the rout 1 and 101. I have driven the 1 and 101 from the border to Washington state. You do not want to drive the 1 with your coach. Use RVParkey to find campgrounds and RV Reviews to see what people think about them. I just want to comment on the future of oil. We are going to do the same thing we did when whaling was no longer producing enough oil to light our cities or homes. Bill, I have hear that too-- that it will break loose all the crud in the tanks and lines and cause you to change filters often till it is clean. I have not been brave enough to try it. The highest percentage I have seen on a pump was 50% in Missoula Montana. Bill

New seals are available and I don't know of a separate one designated for RV use. I would do the upgrades to improve shifting and reduce heat. If the OP would do as requested and put his info in his signature....... Bill

Welcome to the forum. If you put your coach info and location in your signature it will help you get better answers. The C-6 is one of Ford's most basic transmissions. If your mechanic is having problems you need a new mecanic. If you are going to pull the transmission I would do a rebuild and upgrade the clutch package and add a shift kit. Get a kit designed for towing as it will work better in the motorhome. There is a slight chance you might have some air in the system and after it is purged out might lower the level and require adding some more fluid. You might check the level in a couple weeks just to keep it from making that annoying noise. Bill

On top of that the slower the speed the the smaller the deviation is. Bill

When you get a chance check your sway bar bushings. I had to replace the ones on my coach and used polypropylene bushings that are a little stiffer (a lot stiffer than the ones missing) and it did help with sway. Bill

What GPS system are you using? My phone and my tablet and my Bankes IQ all have GPS and for the most part agree completely. I have run several 10 mile test and they seem to be right on the money. The banks IQ will do a correction factor for the speedometer. I have to multiply by 5.8% to get actual speed and milage. I use the speedometer on the IQ rather than my coach speedometer. Bill

Wait till you get your EGT gage working. Low EGT= better milage. Next question have you checked the accuracy of your speedometer? I have noticed that the computer when under the control of the cruise control will ad boost higher than I can with the throttle. Bill

I would recommend going into Glacier from the WEST side. Here is my recommendation, take 90 toward Missoula. Just before Missoula take 93 north. Really nice campground at the turn off on 93. Your operating temperature should run from whatever the thermostat is to not more than 215 on hills. Re read what wolfe10 posted. When the temperature starts to climb drop one or two gears or as needed to increase engine speed and reduce loading on the engine. Bill

Noit is because you use the wrong TP. I would suggest doing what kaypsmith suggested as that is the most likely problem. Bill

I don't care if it dissolves it still flushes out of the "holding tank" completely. The only times I have ever heard of a problem with a system plugging up is when someone leaves the black tank valve open. Please show me a post where someone used the right amount of water and had a problem. Bill
