  1. Here are some coaches to look at http://www.pplmotorhomes.com/diesel/diesel-motorhomes.php Like Herman said motorhomesoftexas.com is a good place to look. You can often find a used luxury coach cheaper than a new lesser quality coach. Bill
  2. The only campground that I have stayed at before on this trip was the one in downtown Little Rock. The other 35 (so far) I had never been in before. You just have to ask when making your reservations. Bill
  3. See, what did I say. Looking good Ernie. Bill
  4. Welcome to the forum Keon. The question becomes what year is your new coach and what is the finish on it now? Is it painted or fiberglass with decals? How much is your budget and would a good polishing and detailing make you happy. I would call Texas Custom coach and see what they say. They are just West of San Antonio Texas 10498 State HW 16 S, Pipe Creek, Texas, 78063, Toll Free: 888-761-4225 http://www.texascustomcoach.com/ Bill
  5. I would also look at http://www.rvparkreviews.com/ to get a idea of what other people say. As noted Tom would be a good source as they winter in the area. Bill
  6. I don't have a full width mud flap on my coach and I cannot see where I have acquired any meaningful damage to my toad from towing it behind the coach. I have picked up a couple things when just driving the toad, saw and felt them. I have been keeping a pretty close eye on it since new. Bill
  7. I would expect if anyone had a nice interior it would be Ernie. Bill
  8. We use Passport America as often as we can. We have saved over $500.00 on this trip so far. I have never had a problem using it with reservations. Yes there are limits set by each park. It is a tool to fill empty spaces in off peak times. The longest I have used it in one park was 7 days (that was as long as we stayed) and the shortest was 2. Bill
  9. Congratulations on your new coach. Bill

    Tire Wear

Till you have the weights, and know what you should /could run I would run the max pressure recommended on the sidewall. Bill
  11. They told me the same thing but I used a "walk in" store and didn't have to have a commercial account. You might check for walk in stores in Ohio. I don't necessarily like freeways but in the North East you will wear yourself out trying to get anywhere on Secondary roads. Bill
  12. I was in Santa Barbara today and they have a big fire just over the hills behind the town, lots of smoke. They are crying about the water shortage and drought but are still watering the sides of the freeway's. Bill
  13. Plans are to be at the Choctaw Casino rally before 6 state. Bill
  14. I am enjoying the nice weather here in Santa Paula CA. It was 105 in Vagus and 103 in Fresno. It is 63 this morning hear and it may get to 80 this afternoon. Bill
  15. I would get an E-ZPass toll tag it will save money and you won't have to go through the slow toll booths. One place to visit is the Corning Glass works and the Glass Museum in Corning NY. You are close enough you ought to visit Niagara Falls, take your passport as the best is on the Canadian side. Bill
  16. Where are you headed? I was that way last year. Do you have your E-Z Pass yet? You should be ok if you stay on main roads with the coach. Not all low bridges are in the East. I found one 11' 9"on main street in Miles City, Montana. I was trying to get to the RV park we were staying at. Luckily I spotted it in time. Note to Miles City, putting the warning signs 20' before the bridge doesn't really help. I saw the bridge before the sign. Fortunately I stopped short, while sitting there I spotted a road off to the left that made a grade crossing over the tracks so I could get around the Blank Blank bridge. Later that evening when headed out in the toad to find something to eat spotted a guy partly under the bridge in a class A. I couldn't see if he had hit the bridge but there were cops there and they were trying to get traffic out of the way so he could back up. Bill
  17. That turkey sounds good. I didn't spend much time on the Piegion Forge side. But if you what to check out some places to eat look at these. Greenbrier Restaurant, 370 Newman Rd, Gatlinburg, TN 37738, greenbrierrestaurant.com, (865) 436-6318. The Greenbriar was an old hunting lodge. Cherokee Grill & Steakhouse, 1002 Parkway, Gatlinburg, TN 37738, cherokeegrill.com, (865) 436-4287. Alamo Steakhouse, 705 E Pkwy, Gatlinburg, TN 37738, alamosteakhouse.com, (865) 436-9998. If you go to the visitors center at the Gatlinburg entrance the rangers do a nature walk and talk about the history of the area. There is a working water powered grist mill at one of the visitor centers but I think it is on the other side of the park. You shouldn't have any problem keeping busey. Bill
  18. One other good place to look is the Remco site. http://www.remcoindustries.com/Towing/ If they don't support the vehicle you are thinking about towing, well the old saying "just forgetaboutit" applies. For a long time they have been making their money making things towable. Better yet ask people on the web I am shure you will find someone who will say no problem. Bill
  19. Carl, the entertainment value is worth the stop at The Big Texan. There are always someone on the raised stage/dining area trying to eat the big steak. True it isn't "prime" but not that bad. Bill
  20. Well Herman I will show you the route at 6 state but basically we drove like we were following a drunk longhorne. Bill
  21. Have fun and enjoy the cooler weather. I am in Fresno Ca and it is 105. we looked at coming back from Canada last year using I-81 but changed to I-87 from Montreal. Will keep that place in mind for next year. Bill
  22. Have a great time. Last year we stayed on the other side of Gatlinburg at Smoky Bear Campground. There is lots to see in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. For a day trip try driving to the town of Cherokee across the park on 441. Then come back around the park on 19 to 276 to I-40 to 32 to 321 and back to Pigeon Forge. It is a interesting drive. When in Cherokee you can go to the caseno. How long are you staying in the area? There are so many amazing roads in the park and historic places. Bill
  23. Hi Ron, If you have cleaned all the battery cables and other connections. Look closely at all the cables as I had one that was damaged but it was hidden from view. If you have done this and still not geting adequate amperage, I have to conclude you have a battery problem. I would guess the generator ties into the house batteries. Should be easy to test just take the ground off the house batteries and see if it starts/cranks. Bill
