  1. Just a thought. I have a main switch in the panel with the water pump and battery switches. I also have a switch by both sinks. First find the switch over the door on the main panel and make shure it is on. Try turning on the switch by the sink in the kitchen. Go out side and see if you can hear the igniter spark, it will spark for a while then stop if it doesn't ignite. If it doesn't ignite cycle the main switch off and on and it should try to light. Make shure your propane is on and the stove lights.Bill
  2. One big thing that is not stressed enough in the manual. NEVER go into neutral from reverse when getting ready to tow. ALWAYS go into neutral from drive. I have heard of at least two transmission failures from not doing it right. Bill
  3. Welcome to the forum. I found some Accuride: http://www.amazon.com/Accuride-28608AOP-Piloted-Aluminum-Wheel/dp/B00U6JJZRO/ref=pd_sim_sbs_293_4?ie=UTF8&refRID=0VYR6TBVN3HPHJ9G7CBP&dpSrc=sims&dpST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_ Here is an Alcoa: http://www.amazon.com/22-5-Stud-Piloted-Alcoa-Aluminum-10-11-25/dp/B001NPMNWE Bill
  4. This is why I recommended the blue 242 and because it is the easiest to find. http://www.loctiteproducts.com/p/10/15/t_lkr_blue/overview/Loctite-Threadlocker-Blue-242.htm Bill
  5. Welcome to the forum Chuckwagon, Never back up when towing 4 down you will damage the suspension and or the tow bar. Repeat, never back up when towing 4 down you will damage the suspension and or the tow bar. Now that being said I think a NSA surge braking system should work fine. I had surge brakes on my tow dolly and no problems. When you get right down to it all but the brake systems that are activated by your coach have some type of surge detection system. The Brake Buddy has a inertia detector that just detects the "surge" a different way. Bill
  6. Would be interesting to hear what the owner had to say, the repeatable part any way. Bill
  7. I still haven't heard why you think you need that high a weight rated tire. Look hear: http://www.summitracing.com/oh/search/part-type/wheels?N=4294920860%2B4294920342%2B4294947557 Bill
  8. When you do plan on being at a rally go register/sine up with Blue OX the very first thing. They only do so many per rally so you want to get on the list as quick as you can. They came to the coach and picked up the tow bar basically rebuilt it re certified it and brought it back for $30.00. Yes it never hurts to look in the for sale listings. I found mine on Craig's list. Bill
  9. Why do you think you need such a hi capacity tire? The originals in your post were at best = to load range "E" or about 2790@80 psi. I found 16" tiers that will match or exceed that load and you can step up to load range "G" for a capacity of 3415@110 psi. Replacing with 16" rims is going to be easier and a lot cheaper than having someone cut and weld rims. You can buy 19.5 rims with out going through having someone cut and weld rims that may or may not be true. Do you have 6 or 10 lug rims? By the way you need a 265/70R 19.5 load range "G" at 105 psi to cover your 4800lbs. Bill
  10. How fast were you driving? Speed cost fuel mileage. You might like to read this thread. http://community.fmca.com/topic/3324-ford-v10-gas-mileage/ Bill
  11. Good job Dave. Small world in that you were close enough to help in person. Bill
  12. Just be sure to use the blue Loctite so you can take the screws lose if you decide to. Bill
  13. Carl, You can keep that set screw from vibrating loose by using a drop of Loctite blue(removable). You can use a little of your wife's nail polish on the threads. Not to much because this isn't as easy to get out later. Bill
  14. Well I think you can go that way. I would keep a eye on the weather reports as you get closer. I think 5 should be OK even if they have had some bad weather they should have it cleared out quickly. 5 is a major truck route. 101 would be interesting but I haven't driven it in the winter or past Long Beach WA. Bill
  15. That is what I did. I bought a Blue Ox tow bar and a Brake Buddy a year before I had a car to tow 4 down. I would make a list of the Blue ox tow bars and their weight limits. I would get at least a 10,000 pound rated one as you can tow anything that your coach can handle and have a little safety margin. Did you know you can have Blue Ox service and repair your tow bar at a rally for $30.00. http://blueox.com/events/ When you find what you are going to tow I would buy a new baseplate. There are so many variables you might get lucky buying a used baseplate but it could be a headache. Bill
  16. Go do what I suggested and tell me if it shows up on your EMS. Bill
  17. Welcome to the forum. Have you tried to (using adapters) connect the drop cord to your 50 amp power cord? Try that and let me know if you get a reading on your EMS. What amp are you providing through the drop cord ? Bill
  18. One other thing is to make sure your filter is clean. If the filter is clogged it can cause a vacuum and pull air in through the water drain causing a back up and dripping on the inside. Most likely it is as mentioned just a plugged drain. When you go on the roof look for stains from where the water had drained in the past. Bill
  19. Hope you have got things cleaned up so you can take a break for Labor day. You have been laboring too hard. Hope all is well. Bill
  20. I understand you are leaving Asheville going to Pipstem/Beckley? Why not go North on I-26 to I-81 to I-77 you can take I-77 into Beckley or cut off on 20 to Pipestem. I think you will have to go back to I-77 to get to Beckley. I was there in August. We stayed at Little Beaver State Park. We had a good time in the New River Gorge area. Bill
  21. I had a 1978 Executive that had 171/2 rims and changed to 16 in rims. Yes 16 1/2 can still be found but cost way to much. I bet you have Chevy rims, call your local junk yards, excuse me (recycling yard) and find some that will work. I would bet something off a 3500 truck would work. Take a rim with you to match the hole pattern. It should be easy enough to find a tier that matches the rolling diameter of the originals. I would look for at least load range "E" Bill
  22. Look in the FMCA Towing Guide for ideas on a towed. Towing 4 down is my preferred method. http://www.fmca.com/motorhome/towing/204-towing-guides-towing-four-wheels-down.html It was a cool 96 in Fort Worth today. Bill
  23. Gerard, I think you sound like someone trying to find a reason not to buy a Class A motorhome. Bill
