  1. Mike, in a word? Yes! However, you don't have to go to 45 foot and 47,000 pounds for the ride! In 1974 I rode in a GMC 24 foot and the ride was equal to a Cadillac, the roads was not real wonderful in Norway back then...mostly cobblestone! Newmar Vantana 40' comes to mind and also Dutch Star in 2014 had a 38', both models with tag! Now we can get back to OP!
  2. Mike, your not alone in class! I only know 4, that have gone way beyond 101.
  3. Mike, now you know why you need a tag axle...I have yet to take things off counters! That includes Hwy 35 from Crowley to Kaplan! Or Hwy 67 from I-10 to Abbyville.

Too true! I just wonder, how many people cheat?
  5. Well, campgrounds started with 15 amp service, then RV's came out with 30 amp and later 50 amp, now (past 10 years+) it's a lot of coaches that are set up for 100 amp! Soon there will be that available at campgrounds. Currently, it's mostly private and high end resorts that have it. As it is, I have not had a problem finding 50 amp...but hen maybe it's a PA. thing!
  6. Tim, not hard to find. Just very expensive!!! I burn Diesel, but regular gas was around $1.80 a litter, they don't go by Gallons! It's 3.785 Litters=1 gallon=$6.80! We are going in with a full tank, 188 gallons...I figure it will cost me about $1+ per mile, after the first Canadian fill up!
  7. I have never heard of "Shoe Goo"! Shoe Dept? The Drip/Dry people, use it to hold their sandals together?
  8. Wayne, agree! The old section is great, if your under 30 foot and no slides! It's really old, stayed there the first time in 1976!!! Frog City is real good for one night, easy in and out...handy fuel stop next door, but no truck noise! If I'm staying in that area for more time, then I go to the camp in Kaplan, LA. Linda & I will be there for Easter...crawfish, crayfish, mudbugs=good eats! Specially when it's free!
  9. If your in one of the 22 city, test areas, Yes, then get the 5GB. If you can only get 4GB, then it's a toss up! The good thing about FMCA plan, one penny for the Jet Pack...I paid $179 !
  10. Jim S, That's over simplification to engineers! Me too..LMAO !

Welcome! If your coach is diesel, it needs to be taken out (if possible, depending on where you live) and driven for about 50 miles, every 2 months (makes no difference if your in a garage or outside). You also, should turn on your generator for a couple of hours each month and bring it up to full load. If it's a gas coach, then you can skip step one!
  12. Just because FMCA stopped using Kiley, does not mean that everyone else did. Kiley does all the plates & mounting brackets for Good Same, 100's of Chapters if not 1,000's, Escapees, LCIF, BPOE, Masons and Shriners International...that I know of. I have a Shriner Plate on order! I don't use the Vinyl stick on because I have another hard Vinyl plate that my egg fit on. It say's "National Director" on it. I use Commercial grade, black. ties...been on my ladder for 6 years, with no sign of wear or brittleness!
  13. ACME Oyster House comes to mind... Roland, what kind of food you want in Lafayette? Are you overnighting? Fezzo's Sea Food on I-10 Service rd. just past Harley Davidson in Scott, LA. Exit #101. Or Don's Sea Food I-10 SR Lafayette! There's more, but it's down Hwy 67 thru town...not recommended in a coach! If you ever want to explore the Cajun Country, you can stay with full h/u at the Fair Grounds in Rayne, LA. Exit #87. $15, there is a Fezzo's there also. KOA in Scott, La. just off I-10, Bills serve up some fine food to go, best Cracklins! Frog City RV Park, exit 95, between Scott & Rayne! We all have to have food & because of that, we might as well find the best, in any given area...that don't mean the most expensive! In NO, get away from the FQ, 7th ward in the day time, you'll find some of the best Chef's at reasonable price's!
  14. RV Armor, had it put on in Gillette, WY this past July. Lifetime of the coach warranty and transfers to new owner, if I sell. It's $140 a linear foot, between front cap and rear cap seam...I had 38 feet done on my 45 foot coach! Got $250 off for being a Vet and another $250 for paying cash! They don't charge tax! I have had no problems or leaks! Took 2 days, since they come to you, I was going to have it done in my Barn...I just could not be around for the 3 week lead time. Every thing they promised, was done in a timely and professional manner!
  15. RayIN. Downside, without holes, you need to drill them to mount on ladder!
  16. Try to cross ref with PPL parts, Houston, Texas! You'll probably get a better price & faster shipping! If your in Destin still, there is a Dixie RV Super Store on I-10, exit 70...844-271-9575 for Parts & Service about 40 miles from you!
  17. Wayne, just out of curiosity. Why, would you want to go to NO in January?
  18. Bill, you do? We where there with the River City Travelers...must have missed you!
  19. Ray, my coach is a 2010, my Lippert's are 2004 & 2006...Girrard don't make the motors on my 2004 electric awnings anymore! Your steps are my steps.
  20. Kay, I have to hold it...then let go and it stops!
  21. Kay, mine is double...up=in, down=out...just like my water line, both run off the start batteries. Water line is 5 amp & power cord is 10 amp!
  22. We where there for a Rally in October, Jim S. Lives there in #37 next to the Rally room!
  23. Roland, there is no RV service of any kind on the island. Stella Mara is a great park, you'll like it. It's less than a mile from my house, but we will not be there until the 18th ! Then only for 2 day's, prior to a cruise! Try to have your leak fixed or looked at, before you get t Galveston...As Joe said, ASAP! Linda has all the dates & I'm not home now, but I know we will be in the Big Bend area before Easter! For over a week.
