☃️☃️Snow is an insulator,, you'll feel warmer, then you'll freeze your...off!

Hmmm! Jan. 2016, this is first post. Hope it don't take another 3 years for a reply!

Roland. You did good. 95% of parks down there are year in, year out Snow Birds, so it can be a bit of a hassle to find anything that's above a 6.0! I agree with Wayne! Besides your in a area of what you love to do...GOLF! DINE! Enjoy! Carl

Roland. This time of year, I'm surprised you don't have a reservation in the Valley...Kind of like Florida in Winter! A lot of good golf down there!

Verizon/FMCA Jetpack issues/worthless at RV Parks

I found out the same, 2 months ago and I have had AT&T for as long as I've had my own phone, 1958. Geeez! -
X2! Most places I know of is Texas, Arizona and Indiana! You could PM Kay, he might know, since he's around 2 hours SW of Atlanta!

I have no problem. -
Roland, why go to Brownsville now? You'll be a lot closer in 2 weeks! Rockport to Brownsville = 200 miles. Where in RGV are you going in 2 weeks? Whooping Cranes are still in the area, Aransas Pass wildlife, Chamber of Commerce & Tourism...just go and try something, anything!

Steve. You do realize, the last comment on this post, was 50 months ago?

FIVE. Did not know a DP Coach could sail...I found out this last weekend, they don't float. Big difference between Sail/Motor Boat and Motor Home! The Coach needs to get to temperature in order to lubricate the engine parts, seals and bushings. Run hot coolant thru the system and exercise the transmission! You do (I do) the same thing with the Generator! Exercise is the name of the game!

Wayne. That's correct. Very few houses survived that storm, pretty much flattened the Island and lost an estimated 6,000 souls! The land behind the Sea Wall, was built up by digging up the flats, where we now have English Bayou. While waiting to get started on the Sea Wall, General Roberts, wrote the Roberts Rules of Order! Now, it's your turn. The Texas City Explosion of a drifting ship!

Ian. Sounds like a good plan! Leave your parka at home!!! What happened to Galveston, TX., we to cold for you? Joe. Sounds like the Tail (boat), wagging the dog (Coach)! Been there, 51' boat trailer, being pulled by a 1 Ton, 4 x 4, Bronco! Don't work well at 90+ mph. Got rid of it for a goose neck trailer & 1 Ton Dodge, 4 x 4, Crew Cab, with Banks System! Never had a problem again, following the State Cops! 😁

They want a arm/leg and first born! That's steep labor cost.

Refrigerator cooling solution "gelled"

DJ. Go on web and look up Absorption Refrigerator...it will give you the history all the way back to 1878 to present time. Dometic from 1907, Electrolux. Various types of Vapor, gas, liquids, etc. Including the history of when Dometic, at the time part of Electrolux, came out with AR for the trailer and then MH industries. A rolling, bouncing, twisting earthquake going down the road and the AF still is functional.- 26 replies

The problem with Texas, it's not written in stone! Yes, it's on the books, but it has not gone thru the voting to become Law yet, still a gray area. You can go to one DMV and they have and give the test, go to another DMV and they have no clue! I drove to the State Police and asked them, where can I take the test and where do I go for the driving part...painless! I got a note with the add. of places within 50 miles of Galveston for both.

I'm thinking that between the insurance and sponsor's, he'll get another coach and writes this one off on taxes!

Ditched my Towing and Roadside Assistance

Your paying for your insurance, so it isn't FREE. I get your drift, got the same with State Farm & like you, do not have RA anymore! -
Now, that's a thought...🤣

Keon, Welcome Back!

Did you explain to them that your there for the Class B recreation vehicle, over 26,000 pound, 15 question test? What town did you take it twice?

Read the Credit's at the end...after the boat was rescued. I like the write up of KTLV 7 better, shows 2 dogs, and indicates there was another person in coach that set the brake, before it rolled into lake! I stand corrected.

Bill, the point, is that, it's very expensive...Galveston Island has never "Trucked Sand" in! The dredging of the ship channel is done by Houston, TC and Galveston contractors, for the Corps of Engineers, they charge $$$ to disperse it on the Island. Last time the Islanders paid for it, was in Winter of 2007. $15 million...who knows where Hurricane IKE put it, September 13, 2008? The private beach, that is on the Moody Gardens Property, is white and was delivered from Destine, FL. The cheapest (FREE) beach replenishment we have is by "Mother Nature", she moves sand from the North East to the South West, by tidal action, storms, and current and it all comes ashore in the San Louise Pass part of Galveston!

You have a source of heat, salt water and Ammonia. The problem is, it will only work in an environment above "0" F. Your "gel" is actually, slush water, they use salt water, because it has a much lower freeze point, than fresh! In a Dometic Fridge, built in the late 90's, level is 6 degrees front to back and 3 side to side, not critical anymore, as it was in the 60's, 70's, 80's and early-mid 90's! Unless your living in your RV, I would do as Kay suggested...turn the unit off and wait until early spring or until your out of Parka weather, if your going South!- 26 replies

I found no ref. to this event. Houston Chronicle or any of the media outlet's. Unless Jim S. want's to verify via Harris County Sheriff or Fire Dept. or Park Service...I call it a publicity stunt, by YOLO Tech. However and for what purpose it was done, the coach in question, is a FRED, with the touchpad for the Allison! Also, a Toy Hauler!

That's kind of what I figured and who would want to re circulate gray water...ugh! Since I have Aqua Hot & it works both ways, I guess I need insta hot installed if I want to conserve water, using both means of obtaining water! Does that make sense?
