  1. Synde. Welcome! Judgmental? I'm lost. Is that based on the fact that I'm too tall for a 190 or a 210? Or because I don't agree? I know a lot of folks who have a class B as a Toad, because due to height or weight or age or handicap, a "B" is more comfortable to drive around. Yes, it's towed by a 40-45 foot Class A or C...when you spend 6 to 8 months a year in a coach, you don't need "Cabin Fever"! As I stated above, I'm 6 foot 8 inches and 74 years old. How much time do you camp in a B? I hope you don't have the Mercedes Benz diesel. They have withdrawn from the American market and will not honor the warranty....it has to do with the B5-20 that is added to the diesel here! They don't use it in Europe. Sorry. Happy travels and have a healthy New Year
  2. TD. Welcome to the Forum! I'll have to agree with Jim, you can't expect any coach manufacturer to stand responsible for other components...they have their own warranty! I certainly do understand your frustration. Contact Newmar Tech. Number 5, 9 & 11 are Newmar. I suspect your Jacks are Power Gear by Lipper Ind., or HWH. They are both in business and will support you. I have the former and very seldom use the Jacks as I also have air leveling on same system. When Jacks fail to work, it's mainly because of Hydraulic Fluid level, a leak in Hydraulic line or connector or a relay....the Tech Dept. can help you resolve the issue. I have most of the components you have and mine is a 2010 American Coach 45, Spartan K2 chassis, 425 Cummins. I have spent a lot more $$$ keeping it happy than you have. It is after all a rolling earthquake, not a regular house. Most things on your list, we can help you fix it. By doing it yourself, you'll get to know your coach and save you $$$. Happy New Year
  3. Herman. I'm amazed. Did not know you could write more than 3 lines! Nice story!
  4. If you have pet's use seven dust.
  5. Ray, stay warm and safe...you'll have a cold front starting Monday, we are expecting 22/29 and wind for first 3 days of 2018...In the hill country of Texas, that's unheard of ! Global warming, where?
  6. Rick. Looking forward to it. Bundle up next week...it's going to be cold. Happy New Year & Birthday party!
  7. Ed & Joan. Welcome to the FMCA family! We all don't have kids...I'm one. I'll post a couple of friends, they do and are down there each year! I would hate to re turn a Thank you on 75K cards! Happy New Year!
  8. Joe, Kay, A lot of the ranch real estate folks in Texas, dust their boots and pant's leg in Sulfur powder, in the summer, keeps the chiggers away. I know that works, I used it at Linda's last May and no chiggers, her son forgot. Man, he looked like he had taken a bath in Poison Ivy oil !
  9. Jim. I don't recall ever seeing 35" wipers...don't think you'll find them at WW, CW....$19.95 an inch maybe!
  10. Easier than a Wrangler? Takes me 2 minuets top, to hook up or un hook. Glad your happy!
  11. Jim S. You'll get no argument from me about bottom mount. They do a much better job in the rain and easier to work on! My blades are 32", I'm thinking a 30" would work better as it would be more stable when rolling. A lot more wind up above, so mine tends to lift in middle and does not remove the water in a 6" swatch from center of arm! You really have 35"? That takes a lot of Hamster power.
  12. PW. Welcome to the Forum! You should have no problems with your GC, the problem has been with the newer models and especially the Cherokee!
  13. Linda thought about spraying some along with Peppermint oil in and around the bays...trying to keep small & big critters out. I told her that combo would defiantly keep me away!
  14. Yep. Better than CW and even PPL most times...you can also go to Amazon, amazing what they carry!
  15. Also, a reminder to contact coach Manufacturer Tech first.

    Skid Wheels

Sorry, I think we are all out of "Shotgun Shacks" in Texas. For those you might want to try your own State, around an old Factory, think I remember some around Lebanon! My wife and family was from NH & Mass.
  17. The approach I used last week was to take one off. Mine do not have the pin and I ended up buying the wrong 32" wiper, they are TRICO but they come in different width at J blade connection. I took my old one into Auto Zone, they matched it and ordered a set in, the second set fit perfectly and took 2 minutes to change out, I then returned the first set and got my $75 back!
  18. Pull arm out, so you can bend wiper back, I use a small screw driver to press down on bottom of J hook and pull whole blade out. I hope yours are bottom mount, do you have the replacement blade? Mine are top mount and I just did mine a week ago!
  19. Joe, as I suggested, there is a very quiet KOA off of I-40 West of Knoxville. The sky way starts on Hwy 165/143 then take US 129 back or reverse it. With taking photos and eating lunch and other pit stops, it's about a 6 hour + loop, all paved. DON'T ATTEMPT IT IN YOUR COACH !!! Actually they will not allow any RV on US 129, better known as The Tail or Dragons Tail. it's only 11 miles long with 318 curves and is now rather tame, as it is one way, every other day and they put in shoulder barriers! I have done it twice, each way, before the for mentioned. On my bike in 2007 and a Jeep in 2011.
  20. Yes, Brett is closing in on much colder weather...let him enjoy the last 24 hours of his ride!
  21. Joe, scroll up and read Brett's comment yesterday!
  22. Wayne. A lot of them on the road back then. Chevy's answer to the VW bus, more room and defiantly more HP. Lot better suited for the American Highways. Thank you for sharing.
  23. JK. Welcome to the Forum! I agree with rs Bill. Great write up! Clear and concise. Happy New Year and Safe travel.
  24. Joe. See what you started ! Geez. Roland, I know that Ross takes the North route...but, this is not a usual winter. Per the weather people, it's shaping up to be like the Winter of 1851...History of Donner Pass! Have you read about it? Now put your coach in it...
