Where most of you are right now, I'll agree. It never got so cold, that water would not flow and for the 48 hours that it did, I was on my fresh water tank, I still have not had a reason to H/U my sewage. Showers, I take in the house portion of the barn, same with other things. We have no reason to take the coach or coach's north of Burnet. TX. in the winter! Tomorrow, we will be in Harlingen, TX. 40 miles from Tom Butler and it's suppose to be in the 60's!

I zoomed in on the gauge and it shows a 50/50 mixture of Butane/Propane...that's a first for me. Normal is 20/80! Since Butane has 3x the energy of Propane. Joe Leamont's coach had a tank that was very well insulated by the original owner, and it had a 40/60 mix...the owner lived in it in Alaska, while working. Blake may remember that ordeal, better than me.

As Rich said, most of the gas has discharged, does not mean that all is gone. As the weather warms up the liquid that is left will turn into gas vapor and be under pressure. Yes, your missing your fill valve cover. What you are smelling is a pungent additive ethanethiol, LPG has no odder, therefore a smell is added so you know you have a leak. How old are your tanks and when was the last time they was serviced? Laws have changed over the years and now, you can only use 80% off volume. If you have a 100 gallon tank, you have to have a valve that only allows 80 gallons....actually they go by pounds, I have forgotten what a gallon of LP=in pounds! Do not attempt to purge the tank yourself. I don't know what your mixture % is between Butane and Propane, that's why it's important to know, when it was last serviced. LPG will revert back to a liquid at low temperature and then go back to gas vapor, as the temperature increase...expansion is 250:1 How low that temperature is, depends on your mix % of the 2 gasses and how well your tank is insulated. On most Motor Homes and outside tanks, there is no insulation. Look on the back of a TT and a lot off times you will see a cover that fits over the tank/tanks, that protects the tank and can also be fitted with insulation!

I feel the same way in Texas! -
4014d. Welcome to the Forum and 2018! Could you please be a little more specific, other than full H/U? That's a big, long range!

Yea, Wall Mart. There is a Yogi Bear E of Jackson on I-20, one night OK. Not one of the better ones! They have H/U, WM don't.

Between the Motor Home Industry and 3M (Collusion) ? They started a whole, massive new industry!

I'll have you know, I remember most last nights...hic.

I turn off AC before I leave coach to check in at RV Park, when I come out, I shut off Generator. I also, hook up coach to pedestal, turn AC back on, hook up water and sewage. Then turn off ignition ( Turbo is cool by that time)!

I don't have cracking, just Diamond Shield. Don't ever want DS again on anything! If I ever get a new coach again, it will come without any 3M product on it, or I won't buy the coach!

Mike, under your conditions I totally understand. You also get the reflection off the pavement, while your sitting there. I have no need for Red Line or royal Purple since I only run my generator (10Kw) while driving , about 6 hours a day. I run coach between 12K to 16K a year, Rotella is fine with me! Happy New Year. Tell LSU to stop dropping the ball ! They had the game last night, but not when you give away a whole quarter! Geez..

Do You Have A Motorcycle With You While RV'ing?
manholt replied to redandsilver's topic in General Discussion
Joe S. Your going to hate yourself if you don't add a small generator and a AC unit, or just the AC unit. Carl -
Tom. Bet that cost a bit...I'm going to have to have mine done before Summer, when I see you, let me know who is doing it. Don't think my insurance will pay any of that.

Brett, your right in part, but the "Modern", FJ cruiser is automatic and FWD/AWD. Even the Land Cruiser has AWD full time. My original FJ40, stick with manual lock hubs, I could tow 4 down. Same with my 1991 Land Cruiser, Auto, because it was manual lock hubs. 2001 Tundra TRD, had about 30,000 towed miles on it and it was automatic. They (Toyota) don't make the FJ anymore!

Alternator, tension and condition of belt? Water in batteries and voltage at start battery? Ignition switch, is it lose or you could have a loos wire or ground at switch or solenoid.

Fuel Economy-- Was This A Primary Consideration?
manholt replied to mweiner's topic in Type B Motorhomes
Mark. Welcome back and Happy New Year! MB has pulled it's Diesel engine (on any chassis, including cars) off the American market, because we use Bio in our diesel mix. MB engine's (diesel) are not built for additive's, it causes their turbo to blow! They also (read the fine print) will not honor the warranty on a diesel engine failure, that has bio in fuel. IMHO I don't agree with their decision, I feel that they should have known and adjusted for our market. I did not say that she or you would have "Cabin Fever", I said that I would have it, due to my size! Please Mark, there is nothing positive to be gained, by taking things out of context. Whatever you have, to enjoy traveling in, is a matter of personal choice...that's what is so great about America, everyone can chose how they live, when and where they want to go, no restriction, no permission from the authorities...Freedom is the reason I adopted to live here, rather than where I was born!- 43 replies

Making it Personal - Do you have an RV Motto?

Freedom...is never free! Home away from home! -
Garryrowena. Welcome to the Forum! As Bill asked, we need to know the location?

Ray, welcome to 2018. If I could, I would....but that's up to our leader, Brett. That's Mr. Ball, not Bell.

The electric side does not heat bays and do a poor job of keeping warm air coming out of furnace, below 60. Diesel side is your main heather...your not saying how cold, for how long! Year, Make, model and size of coach would be nice to know!
-
I have mine serviced at the same time that oil change is due...once per year or 16,000 miles, which ever comes first.

FIVE. Welcome to 2018. I remember your problems, thankfully I have not had any gremlins in my Magnums, just bad batteries problems and now have AGM's again! Just does not draw enough to concern me and now I have 50A. at all of Linda and my sticks and brick's!
