According to Remco, who make pumps for towing various vehicles, your vehicle cannot be flat towed.

Not sure about the main page issues, but yes, you will be receiving a packet from FMCA that will have your plaques and info. I believe they also send membership cards, but you can also print your card out from the main site (if you can figure out how to get to the member's account page). I haven't been on the main page lately, so not sure what might be the issue. And welcome to FMCA and the forum!

Georgia Registration, Taxes, & Fees
CarlAda replied to pallums's topic in Laws and Legislative Action
Each state is different. In your case, it's pretty cheap. -
I added 10% to what was on the charts for my weight. I don't know if there's a definitive answer, but better to err on the plus side rather than the minimum pressure for the carried loads.

Mine remains plugged in to 50amp power while at my home and not in use. I don't use it much during winter months, so it will remain on charge for long periods of time. I do check battery fluid levels monthly.

Can't you just install a charging line to charge your battery while towing? That's what I do with my tow vehicle rather than pulling fuses.

Avoiding The Siskiyou Pass- Class A
CarlAda replied to P21932's question in Destinations/Attractions
Out of curiosity, do you carry chains as required by law or do you just chance that a) you aren't going to need them or b ) you're not going to get stopped to show them? I live in Medford, so going south (or anywhere actually) will require going through snow areas where chains may be required by law. -
Is The Fuel You Are Buying The Same Brand As The Station
CarlAda replied to wildebill308's topic in General Discussion
I don't like it below 1/4 either...but the other day, I thought I was on fumes and turns out that I have a lot of fuel left when on empty...like 1/4 tank...guess the gauge needs some adjustments But rather have it read low than suddenly start choking from lack of fuel -
Is The Fuel You Are Buying The Same Brand As The Station
CarlAda replied to wildebill308's topic in General Discussion
Shell makes a diesel product and apparently that station doesn't carry it, for whatever reason. They're notifying you that you are not buying the Shell V-Power product. Can't say as I've ever noticed it before, but I can only recall one time that I filled my coach at a Shell station. -
Sofa Sleeper Air Mattress Needs To Be Replaced
CarlAda replied to Peggy Headrick's topic in Modifications
I have replaced an air mattress for a leak. Previous and current mattresses both required several cycles of the pump before the mattress was filled to the comfort level that I wanted. I don't think you have a problem. This is where I bought my replacement Air Dream mattress: http://www.sofasleepermattress.com/air-dream-ultra-replacement-air-chamber/- 3 replies

Flat Towing 2016 GMC Canyon RWD
CarlAda replied to sumterjim's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
I'm not driving that model vehicle, but I am using a Remco transmission pump on my 2007 Cadillac CTS. I've had no issues with the pump and the car has shown no signs of problems. -
Input On Prep For Towing 2014 Buick Enclave
CarlAda replied to judatt's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
Congrats on your awesome new coach! I like your idea of getting used to driving your MH without towing first....not that towing is difficult, but it's one less thing to worry about on your learning curve. You'll need to state which parts are included in the estimate. I don't think it's far off. You can always price check the components, then decide if the labor charges are reasonable. If you like the Enclave and it's towable, then I'd suggest staying with it. As far as towing is concerned, other than the install and perhaps some adjustments needed, they will all tow similarly. I don't even notice the vehicle behind me. Joining FMCA is an excellent decision. Well worth it! -
I have the SMI Play-In-Stay Duo, made by the same folks that make AF1. I got it because of the coach I had at the time couldn't support the AF1. I'm happy with it and it continues to do well with the DP that I now own. If I had this coach at the time I opted to purchase my braking system, I believe that the AF1 would have been my preference -- however, I don't know much about the M&G, so can't really comment (other than it isn't compatible with my toad for some reason). All that I can tell you is that the SMI products are very nice, easy to setup for travel, and work well if you only have one tow vehicle (thus no need for portability between vehicles). Good luck in your decision.

The program doesn't order the tires. The tire dealer orders them. The time stamp is the time stamp when it was manufactured and has nothing to do with when it is installed. Regardless of whether you use the Michelin Advantage Program or not, insist on recent DOT stamped tires when you work with the tire dealer.

Our First Coach Is A 1999 Tradewinds DP We Call MC Kismet

Glad to see you're enjoying your coach and the lifestyle. Welcome to the forums. -
I've also been pleased with the services that I've received from CoachNet. I'm sure FMCA's program is equally fine, but I will likely remain with CoachNet barring something making the transfer worthwhile.

Towing 2013 GMC Terrain Questions
CarlAda replied to imahammnow's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
What exactly confuses you? Welcome to the forum. There are plenty of people here able to help you, but you will need to narrow down your questions a bit. I don't use the Patriot braking system,so can't comment. I've been very happy with the system that I use -- SMI Play-In-Sta Duo. -
Curious if anyone does use chains on their coach and, if so, are you using dual tire chains? Not sure I want to ever put them on, but I frequently find myself in areas that do require you to have chains available. Still trying to figure out how to handle that.

Flat Skid @ 60MPH: 2015 Chevy Equinox

Between the Ultraguard on the coach and the Roadmaster Guardian on the toad, I've experienced no ill results.

Diesel Motorhome MPG-- Honest Answers Please
CarlAda replied to luckydog1949's topic in Type A motorhomes
I found Gas Buddy to be a great way to track mileage. This year so far, my Cat 9 on a 40 foot Country Coach pulling a Cadillac CTS averaged 7.37 mpg. Most of my travels have been up and down the Pacific NW and the western states over mountain passes and along flat stretches. -
Safest Route: Carson City, NV to Las Vegas, NV November 2, 2015?
CarlAda replied to TomO's question in Destinations/Attractions
We just traveled it last week. Hwy 95 is a very good road (boring, but...). Traffic on I-15 in Vegas is a zoo. Also stayed overnight at Whiskey Flats in Hawthorne. No issues on the roads from Reno to Vegas.- 3 replies
