I have a cold weather package (whatever that comes with I have no idea) on the paperwork for $1280.00 and the Aqua Hot was an additional $11,200.00 Its obvious I didn't spec this coach when it was new

lets hope you win the lottery....and never have the lightening strike.

HA, I just opened the Forum 1 minute after you replied....great timing I guess.

Jim, great news!! You will need your chassis vin number and a trip the local ford dealer for a mass air flow sensor. As you can see it should be simple to replace, certainly could be much worse.

I almost forgot, the other thing I like is the "Motor Aid" option. When we arrive at a CG I have hot water already since the engine cooling system is tied onto the Aqua Hot, if its above 50 degrees out I turn on the electric side of the system and it maintains the temperature. This also gives us heat throughout the coach while driving down the road. One added benefit....when its cold and the Aqua Hot is on it also warms my coach engine. When you have a DW that likes long hot showers, and two daughters.... this or a Tankless propane is the only way to go. In the morning the showers are back to back and we are off on our daily adventure without waiting for hot water. Its also nice to have my DW sleep through the night, when the furnace would kick in on the last coach she would fly up out of bed and scare the daylights out of me .

Jim, here is a photo of your air cleaner "exploded view" you want to unplug #9
-
jbikesv, the only way to tell would be to try it and see what happens. I have the same dilemma with our 2014 Jeep, I was going to explore it in the spring and see what happens. I always check my TPMS every morning before starting the coach to leave. I scroll through all tires on the toad and coach, if any are lower than they were the day before I am out looking at them with my bottle of soapy water. Having a shop check them with annual maintenance only is crazy. That is the person in the videos with the blow outs that we all have seen. I'd be shocked if the mechanic actually checks them.... oh the stories of stuff I have seen in a shop with mechanics paid by the job .

Jim, it's the one with the wires coming out of the rubber bung that is on the air filter housing. You can follow it down if I remember it is a pigtail around 1' long or take the filter out and take the air box apart (just snaps together) and un plug it from the mass air flow meter. The photo below is what's inside of the filter housing "mass are flow meter or sensor"
-
There are a few other possibilities, (reason for my post above) The Mass air flow sensor located behind the air filter could be faulty, unplugging it will allow the engine to idle if its defective (old trick works 99% of the time). Check the air intake tube between the filter and the throttle body, if its torn or cut the engine will not idle as its messing up the data from the Mass air flow sensor and improperly mixing your air fuel ratio.
-
Jim, just past the air filter within the housing is an electrical connection on the filter housing, un plug it and see if it starts and runs. While it was running did you notice if the engine light was on before it stalled (it will come on if the engine is not producing RPM's). There is not much to that engine (in my opinion) with your background once we figure out the root cause the repair (depending on the location of the failed part) shouldn't be that bad.

Yep, like base board or radiator heat in a house. nice and cozy
-
bill, the Aqua Hot produces heat throughout the coach via small radiators scattered around the interior with antifreeze circulating through them.

Anyone Using "Car In Tow" Sign On Toad?
jleamont replied to Bluebirds's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
WOW, so the sign wouldn't have mattered, it would have been in the rear window of the toad. What car could you possibly squeeze between a coach and toad? Some people...Hope they tossed him in jail. -
Jim, crank it over, as soon as it starts step into the gas pedal to bring the idle up to 2000 rpms. simple test since the valve in question is only for idle, anything above that its bypassed. They are inexpensive, most auto part stores will stock them and the dealer will most likely have it on hand, usually less than $100.00 and they are prone to failing, enough that I carried one when I had my V10 motorhome.

I have waxed our last coach and I used a buffer similar to the one in the link below. If full paint go to an auto parts store and purchase a high quality polish (a lot of it) and have at it. If not full paint that gets tricky. I have gotten lucky the last two summers in locating a RV detail service that travels through a CG with reasonable pricing. I even had them wax the roof (all fiberglass). http://www.homedepot.com/p/Ryobi-10-in-Orbital-Buffer-RB102G/205642375?cm_mmc=SEM|THD|google|&mid=sbY6PieOZ|dc_mtid_8903tb925190_pcrid_50250225579_pkw__pmt__product_205642375_slid_&gclid=CP3zkbz6udACFZBWDQodZ9gJPw

Anyone Using "Car In Tow" Sign On Toad?
jleamont replied to Bluebirds's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
I have never seen one with a sign. If someone's gonna hit the toad they will do it even if its wrapped in neon there is just too many people on the road not paying attention. What always baffled me was the toad lighting, on a trailer you have front marker lights in amber and the rear in red so you can identify the outline of the trailer in the dark, on the toad you only have lights on the rear in red. Off topic but I installed one of these on the third brake light last weekend to gain attention. I bought enough to do all the cars in the household. http://www.kahtec.com/smart_stop.htm
