Loss of 12 v power when disconnecting from shore power
jleamont replied to Mimipapa8's topic in Electrical
Mimipapa8, Welcome to the FMCA Forums! When you say you lost 12v power to the instrument panel, do you mean the dash gauges etc were dead or the house control panel went dead? My first instinct is your house batteries are weak, when connected you are powering everything off of the charger/inverter, while driving the coach alternator is keeping everything alive. -
Whinsi, Welcome to the FMCA Forums! I am familiar with this route, if you have a time constraint this would be the quickest and not a bad ride either. I-59 to I-24 to I-75 to I-40 to I-81, run 81 all the way into PA to RT15N (exit 65) (just north of Harrisburg) and follow RT15N into Williamsport PA. I have run that route a few times (not at the same time) in our coach towing our jeep with no issues.

YUP, same here! I also replaced many that were recently replaced due to improper adjustment. When they are energized it must be the same stroke as the lever on the pump. Said another way; the coil will not last if its trying to pull or push the lever farther than it can go. They overheat when not properly adjusted and melt down internally.

On the side of the engine (on the fuel injection pump) is this solenoid (photo below) turn the ignition on and watch it move, the next time it acts up go and see if its in the same position or if it partially released. You can also check it to make sure its not hot, should be warm when energized but I have seen them where they are improperly adjusted or just worn out and get very hot, when that happens they will release and shut the fuel supply off to the engine until they cool. As mentioned, starting with the fuel filters is always a good place to begin, check this solenoid while you are in there.

YUP preventative maintenance. This was one of the reasons I went with the GE. I can remove my old exterior wall access and everything is right there. No need to remove it for cleaning. -
What brand to buy, is a Senior GPS that is user friendly

Same here, Google Maps works great. I typically map out prior to leaving home, check the Campgrounds website and when we get closer we pull it up and let it talk us into the campground unless the CG has directions on their website, if so we follow their recommendations. -
shnz821, Welcome to the FMCA Forums! Which model wrangler will depend on what luxuries you want. Powertrains are all the same with the exception to the Rubicon, which is equipped with locking differential’s. If you are not off roading this would be a waste of your money. We have had several Jeeps for toads from the X to a Polar edition which is the first Automatic we have owned and they all tow with ease. We have had a few with lifts (including the Polar) I actually think they tow better and drive better lifted than stock. I run the Demco Commander tow bar with an M&G engineering supplemental brake system which I love! We pull from the aftermarket steel bumper rather than a base plate. Roadmaster makes tow bars and those adapters to connect to the steel bumper. The Roadmaster adapters happen to fit the Demco bar by luck, not design.

Kay, NJ still has on the books no semi trailers over a certain length (can’t remember what length) but it was a few feet under 53’, yet 53’ trailers are all over the state. Probably something that needs updated in most states and was forgotten about or low on the list.

Nice! Were you able to test the AGS functionality? Wondering what’s needed so it will automatically start the generator when you call for air conditioning or were you able to locate that wire? I have always wanted that to work with our AGS but haven’t given it much thought or invested enough time to figure it out.

Aerodynamics on over the road trucks work in conjunction with many items. All of them together can save on fuel but the payout is small. The best bang for the money is a properly spec’d truck with hp/torque ratios and gearing. I can tell you from experience these are not programmed for MPG and with only 6 forward gears there is only so much you can do. Lastly the biggest fuel saver is the one behind the steering wheel.

Here is a thread on this very subject;

Looks like Mike hasn’t been around for almost 4 years. You could try to send him a private message, that could trigger an email for him to log back on. Otherwise someone else might be able to shed some light onto this topic.

Anchor Down RV resort is beautiful! You can’t beat the views from the sites over looking the lake. We had site 174 with a full size outdoor fireplace. Pine Mountain RV resort was nice and suited our needs well a few years ago. -
Air Force 1 vs Roadmaster Brakemaster Systems

bsjones11, have you called M&G? Most systems require the charge wire to the car due to their design that is drawing power from the car. M&G doesn’t do that, it’s a simple system that is most cost effective than anything else I’ve seen. https://m-gengineering.com/compatibility-list/ -
I agree with Rich. Make a call and be clear of the coach axles and it’s weight. It’s ok where there is no gate, if the tool booth has a gate and the Pass doesn’t match the load coming over the scale it will not open. The police come over lights blazing, traffic is backed up, horns blowing, it gets awkward. NJ is prone for this issue. As Herman says “I’ve got the shirt to prove it”.

Welcome to the FMCA Forums! That hose should be a hydraulic hose that could be duplicated at any hydraulic hose store, most towns have at least one place that can make those. -
Those prices are extremely high. I’d Call Source engineering and price check those; http://sourcerv.com/ Or remove a bag and take it to a truck parts place locally and see it they can price it and determine the part number

Puff, is that compartment vented?
-
Yes. If you run on diesel it will circulate through one zone automatically, but the fan doesn’t come on unless the wall thermostat in that zone calls for it (toilet room in our coach) on electric no heat circulation. FYI those are 5/8 heater hose that feeds the registers within the cabin area, nothing special. Very simple system on that side.

That’s a tire brand I forgot about. A previous employer of mine ran those and Hankook. Good tires!

What size and model Hercules tire do you have?
