The tube that regulates the fuel pump comes out of the intake manifold to the fuel pump. The device in the pump is called an AFC (air fuel control) the afc is a diaphragm against spring pressure it prevents the fuel pump from supplying too much fuel until turbo boost is supplying the right amount of air to prevent black smoke. The Bubba's refer to it as a smoke / power control. If it is set right and working properly it will not decrease power. If the diaphgram is ruptured or the line is leaking or you have an air loss in the charge air cooler or piping it will not go to full fuel and result in a power loss. you may save time and money having it checked at a GOOD diesel shop. cmarq. 40 years as cummins tech.

If you want no tolls and a easy drive 95 up to 77 through SC and NC to 81north to 84 East into CT. This is longer and a lot of large hills it is a much easier drive than 95 to CT. I prefer the longer route. In the Stamford area the only campground I know of is Hammonasett state park in Madison. It is right off 95 so to get to Stamford is 1/2 hour on 95. It is mostly dry camping with water and showers available. One section has water and elec but you will need to make a reservation now if you want a weekend next Sept. There are sites after Labor day that are walkin but no hookups. Lots of good eats and shops in Madison, Clinton area. We are in "Hammo" Sept to columbus day. Riverdale is a private campground in Madison also it is a lot of seasonal and not high on my list of good campgrounds. It is on a narrow winding back rd 40fters go there but is a tight go. There may be others that can give you a better route. If you need more info on the area let me know, hope this helps. Skip

My 4000 did that, I found the wire from the switch that runs down to a terminal was loose. It is a push on female end. It drove me crazy for a year. I worked for Cummins CT and every tech in the gen dept. looked at it. I found it by accident after I squeezed the terminal with pliers it ran fine for 5years until i sold it.

There is a new paint on the market that sheds rain so well the surface does not get wet. If it doesn't degrade signal it might help with loss of signal in rain.

My Winegard Rt8000s will not lock on a signal. After working with dish and winegard, winegard says the unit is not pulling enough amps. 1.15 amps they say it should be close to 5amps. It has been powered up right at the dome by battery to rule out wiring or connector. Winegard wants a $70.00 estimate fee and says repairs maybe around $300.00. I am a few months out of warranty but don't want to spend $400. on a unit that isn't even 3 years old. Has anyone had this problem or know of a GOOD repair shop? Thanks

I have several, they are used on most of our equipment for our lawn service co. They work very well.

I had the same problem on my 2003 Pace Arrow 37G, Workhorse chassis. I made my own trac bar there are several plans on Omeys web site. I used a top link for a 3 point tractor hitch. $35.00 from tractor supply. I had the steel to build the rest. The first trip out I could not believe the difference. Omeys has so much info on Workhorse, check it out. The price I got for a mfg trac bar was $550.00 plus installation.

Mold Armour from Lowes or Home Depot does a great job and keeps it from coming back.

Why not go by what the manual says? -

We had this problem on a 2003 Pace Arrow I purchased used, it took a while to figure iit out. Building codes require one I don't see any difference. Does RIVA require one?

Ct will issue transport plates, contact CT DMV. Also there are several driveaway companies that will deliver it on their plate. I used Quality driveaway to get mine from Cape Cod to CT. They charge a flat rate and they paid tolls and gas. WWW.qualitydriveaway.com or google for others.

My 2003 Pace Arrow door latches were very faded when i bought it. I removed them and painted with Krylon Fusion for plastic. That was three years ago and they still look good, also did my side mirrors which were faded. Removal of the latches is easy, follow the cleaning instructions for best results, light coats work better than one heavy.

Clyde, (my name is also Clyde) You say it surges both in and out of cruise control. I am going to assume you are at a highway speed. I worked for a Cummins distributor in the northeast and have seen this complaint in a truck. Too make a long story short it also had an Allison. After many reprograming and changes to ECM a dyno test with old fashioned gauges hooked to engine showed a restriction in the fuel system from debris in fuel tank. I would ask your Cummins dealer if they would chassis dyno and check fuel restriction at full load. There was not a power complaint or warning light or fault codes. Just the surge at highway speed.

Sanitizing the Potable Water Tank and System
cmarq replied to wolfe10's topic in Systems and Appliances
I sanitize our tank and system including the hoses, I also installed a Culligan water filter with its own faucet for drinking water. I use the rv4 filter and the water has been tested and is as good as any bottled water. The filter set up and faucet was $60.00 and the better RV4 filter runs about $40.00 online. The filter is good for approx 500 gallons. It gives peace of mind without carrying bottled water and the coffee tastes great. -
Check the connections from turbo to charge air cooler and to intake if a clamp broke or is loose you loose turbo boost which will reduce power and no warning light. The charge air cooler could also have a leak, this needs to be tested in a qualified shop.

2007 Fleetwood Pace Arrow 36D - Work Horse Question
cmarq replied to Cl7aude1's topic in Buying an RV
I have a 2003 Pace Arrow 37A 8.1 with the Allison I have no problems power or mechanical, my toad is 3700lbs. I worked for Cummins CT for 40 years and prefer the gas MH. DP maintenance costs are a lot higher and DIY is limited. -
My 2003 8.1 has a large allen plug on the left side of the block. This will drain everything including whats in the block. It is a large plug. We are away so I can't give you the size, I got a socet style allen wrench at NAPA.

My last visit to Sam's Club, they had 6 volt AGM GC batteries, I didn't get the AH but the sticker price was $131.00

Reply to Docwobblin, The Cummins 5.9 is a" parent bore engine" it is not an engine with liners which will pit without SCA. You do not have to use it
