Yea, mine are so close together my big foot overlaps once in a while. I've learned to hit the steering column with my shoe to insure I'm not overlapping onto the go pedal.

You should not have to get underneath to check for an automatic transfer switch or change power plugs from shore to genset. There must be a switch to change from shore to genset or plugs to change, there are no other electrical choices. If one source fed the other, exciting things would happen very quickly.

My wife handed me this picture on our 1st anniversary, a hidden meaning perhaps? It must've worked, we're working on # 25.

Overloaded? Who?

Thanks for that. My Norcold lasts just as long as a residential fridge then. As Kaysmith said, proper maintenance is vital to longevity. I know my Norcold will fail at some point; everything made by man does eventually. I'm happy with what I have, as should everyone should be happy with their possessions. The fact remains, the largest cause of fire in diesel pushers is engine fires, refrigerator is second; yet I seldom read of what MH owners have done to prevent/mitigate an engine fire. https://motorhomesonfire.com/2019/03/19/the-common-causes-of-rv-fires/

Welcome to the forums bubba! Begin with this internet search. Download the ones of interest, then modify them to suit your specific requirements. Another source is; Rand McNally RVND GPS has a built-in checklist for setting up and breaking down at a campsite. This GPS is designed especially for large RV's, and designates routing based upon your input for height, weight, length, your preference for interstates, or state highways, etc.

I wonder if a residential will last over 20 years, my Norcold 1200LRIM has.

For me the easiest way is to find the desired picture on your computer, right-click copy while your pointer is on the picture, return here make your reply, place your pointer in the reply box then right-click again the click paste. The "official" way is to use the insert other media box at bottom right of the reply box, then follow prompts.

Who, What, When, Where or Just Lets Talk

Congratulations! We have 13 + 3 greats. There are happy to see them arrive, happy to see them leave moments. Wonder how I can bottle some of their energy? -
That "2 inches either way" steering wheel play is concerning, definitely not usual or normal. One more thing for the alignment tech to check out.

Sorry I got your thread hijacked. To the best of my memory, Norcold issued 2 different recalls on the 12xx series, you might make sure your fridge has both. https://norcold.com/recall-information/ Here is the wiring schematic for the recall box. https://www.arprv.com/troubleshoot-norcold-recall.php BTW, that ARP device, known as Fridge Defend, is the best protection for the cooling unit available. It is wired in series with the Norcold black box.

I gotta stop buying chocolate, it goes to waist.

Practically all large heavy duty truck repair shops have a computerized total alignment machine. So will commercial bus repair shops. Before the alignment, request they inspect all steering components for wear or damage, and repair or replace as necessary. I had our MH aligned last summer, they found the rear axle/thrust angle was out by 3/4", plus the normal front wheel specs were slightly out. The MH drives much easier now. Total cost, $300.

Once someone remarked about failing so many times. He replied that he never failed, he found 39 formulas that didn't work. Huffy, it was the plug wires I sprayed, and didn't wait for the carrier to evaporate before starting the engine. A crossover spark between wires lit the WD40. Sure was exciting for a minute. Just to stay on topic, no there wasn't a Norcold in the back. The only thing I kept in the back seat was a blanket; drive-ins ya know.

Wait for it to dry, when wet it is flammable. Been there done that_; bout burned up my '57 chevy once.

sgtjoe, my Xantrex RS2000 true sine wave hums all the time it is turned on, volume is constant. It has a fan that is designed to run all the time the inverter is on, and a high-temp only fan.

Yea, I know. Every time I took our MH back to Camping World for things they agreed to fix at purchase, it had window marker and stickers when I got it back. Virtually all RV dealers use that sticker from November on. With many employees, memory or word of mouth is insufficient. Goop is great from removing adhesive/grease residue from gel-coat.
