  1. I use two 6 ton jack stands for the front and two 10 ton for the rear. But I never raise the rear tires off the ground. To do so could allow the coach to roll because the brake is only on the rear wheels. And I don't use all four at one time.
  2. www.tvfool.com is the site I have used to find stations for several years.
  3. Welcome back. This a question that you will need to call Membership Services at FMCA. 800-543-3622 or 513-474-3622 about. You will be able to renew his membership with the same number. I don't think the online system will allow an expired membership to renew, but you will be able to via the phone. $40 for a year. 5 years for $160 or one free year. I would do the 5 years. If you later find that you need to cancel, FMCA will refund and full unused years if you notify them. In the future if you have a motor home of your own, you will be able to register with the same number with a 'S' added for son. I don't know about any 'special' benefit for a 'L' membership other than being recognition status. There are a lot of benefits included with an FMCA membership. One of the important ones is FMCAssist medical evacuation insurance. There are more and you can read about them all on FMCA.com under the Benefits tab.
  4. There should be a 30 amp breaker in your shore power panel that feeds the inverter. Check to see that has not tripped. I would turn it off and back on. Also, are you sure that the shore power is getting into the power panel? You may have to take the cover off and check with a meter, but don't do it unless you are comfortable with diagnosing power panels.

    Dimming Lights

Why not wait until you see this condition occurring, turn off the refrigerator and see it the condition stops. You might also check to see if you have a water heater electric element and turn it off, also.
  6. 877-777-3126 7-7CST Mon-Fri is the Cat RV phone number.
  7. For our three motorhomes, we have had 4 windshields replaced by Duncan Systems. One failed about 6 weeks after installation. Duncan replaced it at no charge. We have always been very satisfied with Duncan's service and quality.
  8. In our Expedition, the panel is above the windshield on the passenger side where the jacks, power on/off, water heater, and inverter controls are located.
  9. Look in the rear outside bins for a small fuse panel. If it is a rear diesel, you may have two small fuse panels. The second one would be for the transmission.
  10. 1) Most sites are not angled, but should be. If you plan ahead, you can Google Earth to look at the site to see if you think it will work for you. 2) No, but older parks are usually narrower than the newer ones. National and State parks are usually tight on sites. We have found some that the sites were 60-80 feet long and the same between sites. There just isn't a standard. FMCA rallies try to have enough room to park your towed auto between your coach and the next one. 3) You will find good information in all areas of the FMCA forums. You just may not know when you need the information.
  11. We have towed ours for 48,000 + miles with no problem; but based on your description, I would have the alignment checked.
  12. One winter we did not have fresh water in the tank, but used gallon milk jugs for the toilet. We did have a heavy duty 40 watt light bulb in reflector that clamped on. Some call them utility lamps. The temperature range was 11 to 14 degrees F outside. We have a outdoor wireless thermometer in the water bay. We held 34 F or above. Our valves did not freeze and we did not use any antifreeze.
  13. View Unread is showing 2 pages, but after reading page 1 and then moving to page 2, no new content is shown.
  14. We have a different Fleetwood model, but it is similar to your Bounder. When we get to our site beside our home, I leave the engine running long enough to lower the jacks and extend the two slides. But after unloading what we need to and cleaning, I just turn on the ignition and retract slides without starting engine. When we are getting loaded to leave, I again turn on the ignition without starting the engine and extend to slides and again to retract for departure. My jacks take a lot more power than the slide motors, so I start the engine, retract the slides and then retract the jacks. The key is to know the state of charge of your batteries before operating high power motors.
  15. I think Safari used a switch from what GM called a "C" series step van. I would call it a milk truck. Possibly, asking a auto supply for that switch, they would be able to search their parts list for one.

    New Tires

I had G670 - 275/80R22.5 / load range H on my coach. My Michelin dealer recommended that I go to load range 'J' to have stiffer side walls.
  17. I use Wheelmaster balancing discs on front tires only. I have used them on three coaches, and they have worked well. I have never balanced rear, but I have had alignment done including rear axle. All track very well. Possibly beads will not have the problem, but powder will cause problems with TPMS sensors if the wrong Valve Stem is used. I think the correct one has a red ring at the seal, but you would have to remove to check.
  18. I believe US31 is closed just north of Indianapolis. We take I-69 to FT Wayne and then at Exit 309 take US33 to Goshen. Just before US20 there is a very small green sign that says To CR17 pointing to the left, take it. CR17 will go north to any area in Elkhart. It will end at just past I-80 at the RV Museum Hall of Fame. Stop and visit there if you have the time before or after your work on the coach.
  19. 41 is not a bad highway, but it will take you far out of the way. After Terre Haute, IN, I would work my way over to US31 north and take US20 or US6 get you near Elkhart. If you need camping in the area, Elkhart County 4H Fairgrounds in Goshen, IN offers full hook up 50amp sites. Also, Elkhart Campground north of Elkhart east of Hwy19 and on CR 4 is a good campground. I am sure there are others, but I have stayed in these two several times. If you are going to go to Elkhart to get service, the service provider may offer sites, also.
  20. To get the accurate answer, call FMCAssist and ask your question. Seven Corners is the Agent and the policy is underwritten by Lloyds of London. Members on this forum are not and may or may not know the complete correct answer. Having said that and having had two experiences with members that have used FMCAssist in different ways, I think #5 is the answer you are looking for.
  21. There are campgrounds that offer a 10-15% discount for FMCA and Good Sam members. Also, Passport America membership will give you a 50% discount. Many of the Passport campgrounds have days or periods in the year where they will not give a discount or they may limit the number of days. Many of the Passport campgrounds, but definitely not all, are older and off the beaten track; but we have always been satisfied if the campground was near our route. We have always been able to save more that the membership fee for all memberships each year. There are smart phone apps for FMCA, Good Sam and Passport America to help you find and get the latest information about an area you are considering for an overnight stop.
  22. One problem you may have is that the sound from the TV to the surround sound will be a fixed level output; therefore, the volume control for the TV may not vary the volume for the surround sound, You will need to adjust the surround sound, too.
  23. I made all new valances out of maple wood to match our cabinets which you may not want to do. But where I could not screw into cabinet above, I used pocket hole screws in the top. Pocket hole screws are self threading and will screw into the walls even there is a metal sheet in the lamination. Kreg makes a jig you can use to make the angled pocket holes in the valance to use pocket hole screws. Some of their jigs are high price, but a single clamp on is under $50 or less.
  24. I didn't today, but it is Friday. I will check again this weekend.
