  1. I don't have a Four Winds, but fuses of this size usually are flat with a small round window in the center. The ends of the fuse are connected to studs on fuse holder and the cables are connected to those studs, too. I would start at the positive terminal of the battery and follow the cable into the RV until you find the fuse.
  2. We have had a Cricket SV3, Resort Model for 5 years. It has a hard top(not available anymore), windshield, flip down rear seat and front seat side handles. It fit in a Pontiac Vibe and would fit in newer Chevrolet HHRs. We have Chevrolet Equinox now and a little easier to load it in. I have had a bushing go bad in the drivetrain, but no other problems. Ricks RV that sold the unit to me have been great to work with on any issues. I would recommend a Cricket to anyone that can use a 2/3s size "golf cart" that will travel about 1/3 the speed (8 mph).
  3. I have had 3 point and 4 point jack systems, both have worked well. Stability is a little better with 4 point. All jack systems should not be extended far enough to lift the tires off the ground. If the tires are off the ground, particularly the rear since the emergency brake/parking brake only works on the rear, there is risk that the coach will roll and bend a jack. Very expensive to replace.
  4. We do and have at GEAR because we go out to eat a lot of our meals. But there is ample on site golf cart trams, so you will not need your towed auto if you plan to stay on site for the whole rally.
  5. Look at the HHR. It has the same interior space as was the Pontiac Vibe or Toyota Matrix. We towed one of those for 4 years without problem.
  6. You didn't say what coach or chassis you have, but if it is Freightliner, there is a fuse block near the rear of the coach, usually in the storage bin just behind the rear wheels. You may find two blocks. If you do, the other one is for the transmission.
  7. We have towed a Chevrolet Equinox for 2 years. Newer years are still towable. With the automatic transmission you simply pull one fuse or install a switch, put the transmission in neutral, and turn the ignition to Accessory. Chevrolet states you should run the engine for 5 minutes each morning for 5 minutes and when you refuel. I don't think they mean 400 to 500 miles before you refuel the motor home. I run the engine again at lunch. We carry a 3/4 size golf cart, Cricket, in the rear of the Equinox. When we are at our destination, we unload the Cricket and the rear seat slides back giving as much leg room for the rear seat as there is in front. very good seating for five.
  8. You probably have vacuum controls for your heating and cooling. When climbing a hill the vacuum decreases enough for the controls to change position vs. where you had them set.
  9. We use Delorme's Street Atlas, too. We have traveled the about the same route between Indiana and Arizona so many times that we have fuel stops, overnight stops, and even restaurants for our evening meals. But we still use Street Atlas because there have been times we have had to deviate our route due to weather, etc. When you know that you do not have to make a turn for 120 miles, you don't even look at the screen for about 2 hours.
  10. I thought that all USPS postal office would handle general delivery. It is best to select a small town that has only one post office/zip code. Larger cities that have multiple offices which can be a problem locating which one has your mail.
  11. These two comments related to the Traverse are from the FMCA Towable Guide that appeared in the January issue of Family Motor Coaching. 5. To prevent the battery from draining while the vehicle is being towed, remove the 15-amp EC M fuse and the 15-amp OnStar fuse in the battery compartment behind the passenger seat on the floor. Also remove the 50-amp BATT1 fuse from the under the hood fuse block. 6. The vehicle should be run at the beginning of each day and at each RV fuel stop for about five minutes. Reinstall the fuses to start the vehicle.
  12. I don't know where you are located, but I had problems with my 458. It was not the fuse. Called Xantrex and got a RMA number. They wanted me to ship it to Washington state. Elkhart has a Xantrex repair center, but will only accept walk in repairs if you get the RMA number from the Washington site which I believe is really a British Columbia location.
  13. We have a Samsung residential refrigerator and run it while we are traveling, but I do turn off the ice maker and use economy mode. Turning off the ice maker prevents water splashing out which will cause the cubes in the bin being all frozen together. Economy mode turns off the door heaters that reduces condensing moisture. When we are at a camp site, I then turn on the ice maker and turn off the economy mode.
  14. You may get as many different opinions for as many responses that you receive, but I have had Brake Buddy and would not get it again. I prefer the Air Force 1. Simple and easy hook up. Made in Evansville, Indiana. Very responsive to your needs.
  15. We have a Cricket which is not a golf cart or a mobility cart. It is in between. We added it to our home owners policy for about $36 a year.
  16. It has been a long time since we had a P-32 chassis. It is from the bottom and also I think there is a cross member that has to be removed first. Surly, there is someone that has done it recently.
  17. Having had both unvented and vented, we will not go back to a unvented. You can wash twice as much as you can dry in a load. We wash a load, take out half, dry, and then dry second half. Yes, they do take longer to complete full cycles, but a load or two a day for a couple of days will take care of your needs.
  18. Our Norcold 1200 failed leaking ammonia. We now have a Samsung RF197ACRS, 18 cu ft residential refrigerator installed. We have only made one trip, but the daytime temp was 95 to 99 degrees. The frig was set on 36 and held 34 to 36. The freezer section set on -2 and held -2 to +1. We had power at our site and as near as I can tell max load was 5 amps on 120 volts. I did turn off the ice maker and place it in economy mode while traveling and had the inverter on to power the frig. I did not perceive any problems. I have 4 friends that have installed this same unit and they are happy with their units, too.
  19. I just went through FMCA.com Join FMCA tab, and looked at all the Member Benefits. Verizon is not listed.
  20. When I purchased the unit with one remote at Radio Shack, the clerk looked up the remote on line. He could not verify that it was the correct remote, but it was the only one available. I ordered two and had them sent to a store in my home town. No shipping charge. All three remotes work well. Once in a while when a semi-truck passes by, one remote will not be received for a period of time. Time varies, but usually less than 10 minutes. Don't know if the truck had too much power output on their CB radio to cause interference or what that causes it.
  21. Not sure where you are located, but we have a mattress factory outlet in our town. The factory is 20 miles away. They will make any size we want without any extra charges and remove the old mattress.
  22. Radio Shack has a temperature receiver with inside temp and one outside temp remote. You add 2 more remotes by ordering. I have a remote just behind the front bumper, one in the water bay, and one in the refrigerator. I do not remember the price.
  23. We added the Wingman and have an increased signal of 3 to 5 db, but aiming is more sensitive. You may have to re-aim between channels in metropolitan areas.
  24. As you travel along I-80 there are several small rest parks that are really campgrounds. We really like Windmill at exit 285 in Nebraska.
