  1. My previous motorhome on FTL chassis did that once to me and your correct, maybe 5 seconds but felt like it was instantaneous. I had some warranty work done on the cooling system and they didn't get the the sensor for the coolant overflow tank in securely and when it finally fell off it showed no coolant and shutdown.
  2. Thats her concern. What the heck if the red light comes on and the engine shuts down? Best scenario is she is in a climbing lane, otherwise she could completely block traffic. Unfortunately, I can see a class action lawsuit in the offing.
  3. I just read on a different forum that Spartan will only ship a DEF head if you have derated and engine is now shutdown. A poster has a 2018 Dutch Star and has 4 DEF fault codes but Spartan will not ship her a DEF until she gets the red light. Spartan told her to drive it until it shuts down. She just left Pagosa Springs and is not excited about crossing the Rockies with a good possibility of a shutdown ascending or descending 6-8% grades. https://rvforums.com/threads/otr-diagnostics-def-derate-faults.6326/
  4. Yep! Add in the humidity and the real feel is in the 90's. 😓
  5. It seems the higher percentage of failure is with Spartan. They are using a DEF head manufactured by Shaw, FTL uses a different mfg.
  6. Not me unless there is another stimulus bill that includes a Newell.
  7. Raise your bed up. You can then remove the false floor. The ATS is there with the heavy gauge wires attached. Honestly, that was several years ago and I don't know how I found it.
  8. Either he found it or didn't need to know quickly.
  9. Normally it is in the same bay as the power cord. My 08 Fleetwood Bounder ATS was under the bed. I had to remove the floor to get to it.
  10. I used a Demco Kar Kady SS when I towed a Toyota Avalon. The wheels on the dolly steer and the towed vehicles tread width can be up to 76".
  11. This was posted sometime ago and apparently they had an addendum to the benefits.
  12. Well thankfully Bill and Carl stopped the runaway downhill train this thread was taking.
  13. This thread started off going down hill and it continues to gain speed. So you've "professionally" inspected your tires and are wiling to resell what most of us believe to be aged out tires to an uninformed person. Personally, at best I find that immensely un-professional and at worse life threatening.
  14. You might want to verify it will work with the AGS, if you have that feature.
  15. Bill, they are also requiring reservations to simply to enter Glacier unless you're camping in the park. NEW IN 2021 Glacier National Park is instituting an online reservation system (ticketed entry) for the Going-to-the-Sun Road corridor between the park’s West and St. Mary Entrances from May 28 to September 6, 2021. Visit the Going-to-the-Sun Road Ticketed Entry page to learn more.
  16. I would spend a day trying to locate sites in Pagosa Springs and in the Utah Big Five Park areas before spending more time on adding places to your itinerary. I predict its going to be almost impossible to easily find sites at this late date. A friend is going to Glacier in July and the closest place he could find is over an hour west of the park and he did this in February.
  17. The problem with finding an RV park is most parks are already booked for this summer. I don't know if Homeland Security allows it but long term parking at the airport maybe an option. RV dealer lots are pretty empty because they can't get inventory so they may lease out some space. If you're going to need power, you're pretty much limited to a campground. Good luck.
  18. What does the owners manual say about recreational vehicle towing?
  19. Carl, I'm not sure we get any discount at Stripes. The TDS App doesn't indicate that. Have you used it at Stripes and received a discount?
  20. I think that is a wise choice since they aren't willing to use more moderators. iRV2 has at least a dozen admins and mod's, all volunteers, but the big thing they use is a report button on every post. With that button, every member becomes a jr moderator and by reporting posts the mods can then react quickly to delete and ban the poster. I know there is a report button on this forum but I've reported numerous posts and it is either never or several hours before its taken down. It sad to think a forum of this size is administered by 2 people and one of those has a full time job. You need at least 8 with 2 in each time zone. With all that being said, I'll miss some of the posters since I chose sometime ago to not renew my membership. Honestly - there are none of the benefits I see beneficial other than the Medi Evac and like lots of insurance, I choose to self insure. Good luck guys and gals, see ya down the road.
  21. Herman, He probably meant Willow Park which is between Fort Worth and Weatherford. The biggest difference I see in Spartan and FTL is the difference in the number of dealers. It seems to me there are many more FTL dealers and I understand most FTL dealers work on Spartan. It would most likely only be an issue for warranty work. All of the newer Dutch Stars are side radiator which is a huge maintenance benefit but you do loose the outside storage bay.
