  1. Good thought Carl however he has all new batteries. Blake getting the switch out could be a bugger due to its location. If he hasn't got it fixed by New Years I will help him out in Beaumont. Herman
  2. Sorry Jeff but the same folks you speak of that are not members of a chapter would still get the information the same way they get it now. Through the Magazine or the web site. All dues paying members have the same chance to get the information as anyone else. It is their choice as whether to read the information or have someone get the information for them and tell them what is happening. You are not going to change human nature. If those unrepresented folks wanted to get a voice they would get involved. FMCA Membership sits at approx. 75,000. If the figures thrown around that only 30% (22,500) are members of chapters while 70% (52,500) are not chapter members then why with 3 months of Notices in the Magazine and on the website only a little over 11,000 took the time to vote. Does that show you how folks care about what happens. The only way to make a change is to get involved. You of all people should know what can happen when you get involved. You did and now there is FMCA Energized. I will continue to repeat myself, "To Be Involved, Get Involved." Herman
  3. On the FMCA Home page. Click on "Members" then "Governance Site" then click on "Committees". Look and see how many committees there are. Herman
  4. I am sorry but what I have seen on two different "votes by mail in ballots" had response on one of less than 1% of the members vote and the last had right at 12% vote. Now you want each Area to divide up the non chapter members (approx 70% of the membership) into regions to vote and elect a representative for them. Can you see any thing wrong with this picture. I sure can. Sorry I got back on the Soap Box. Herman
  5. Kilte, Do you have some particular parks in mind? Herman
  6. 2 brew, I had part of the information correct. The company that did Steve's work is "Precision Painting" in Brenen, Indiana. They did the changing out of his head lights and tail lights then did a full painting of the coach. Precision farms out the interior work to a Amish cabinet shop. Google Precision for contact information. Herman
  7. Jeff, Valid point, however we have National Directors that represent the members of a given Chapter and are to always canvas their members as to how they would like for topics to be voted on. First how do you select a National Director for the non members? How will he know the opinions of those non members. If you have the AVPs select the National Directors then you have the AVPs stacking the deck to suit their own agendas. My feeling is if a person wants to have a say in how FMCA conducts business, then join a Chapter, get involved and become a National Director if they can be elected by the chapter. Too many arm chair quarterbacks. If you want to be involved, Suit Up and get into the game. Sorry, just my Soap Box for the Day. Herman
  8. They found a few issues that will be addressed after the first of the year. Just needs to watch his diet till then. Herman
  9. Thanks for all help and suggestions. As soon as Joe slows down from Dr's visits I will have him look further. Herman
  10. Excellent advice, "SAFETY FIRST ALWAYS" Big K let us know what you find Be Safe. Herman
  11. Harley, Welcome to the Forum. Sounds to me like the rear slide has jumped a notch and may need to re-synchronized like you had done on the front. Check with W/B an see if there is another recall on the rear. Herman
  12. Texbon, Sorry but we get it, didn't need to post it two times. Once is enough. Your post will come up in "Unread Content". Herman
  13. Thanks Kay and Blake. Good thoughts and nice pictures. Herman
  14. Me 2 and waiting. We will get it when they are ready. Herman
  15. Thanks Rich. As I said, Joe looked at the schematic for the power reel and knows that there is a fuse some where. I will be talking with him this evening after he has a small medical procedure. Will let you know what he finds. Thanks, Herman
  16. Texas Farm Bureau, three vehicles including MH, Full coverage on all three, with $200.00/500.00 deductible all for just over $2,200.00 per year. We also have the Farm covered with them also on a seperate policy. Didn't go up a penny from last year. Just got the renewable this week. Checked progressive at the end of November and they were $3,100.00 just for the MH. Sorry Progressive. Herman
  17. Thanks Ray. Went through every fuse in Joe's front panel. each and every fuse tested good with a volt meter on both sides of each fuse. Joe said that his schematic shows a fuse for the reel. but as always it doesn't show a location. He is down in his back at this time and lives 250 miles away so I can't run over to help. I am not sure if his reel is an actual reel or a drum where the cable coils up in like mine. In my coach there are two boxes in the rear, one on each side. One contains the Battery Booster solenoid. I will have him check to see if he has the same two boxes. Maybe one contains the fuse. As far as the bad gear, he can not hear the motor running when he toggles he switch. Just wish I was closer to help him. Herman
  18. A friend of mine has a 2004 Holiday Rambler Navigator 45 footer with a Power Cord Reel in the rear corner of drivers side. His power cord reel is not working and he would like to fine the fuse that his schematic says he has. Does anyone know where the fuse might be located? Joe will be grateful for any help. Herman

  20. Shiney coach with a bit of chrome or Rat Rod Coach, hmmm? I will go with a small bit of Bling any day over flat black any day. I think Wayne will agree after the great job he showed that he did with Blue Magic on his rims. Besides a shiney coach helps getting into some parks. Home for a month, wow. Herman
  21. Richard, You will not find pop ups joining FMCA. In Indianapolis the governing board decided that for FMCA an RV is a self contained vehicle with a Kitchen (Cooking) facilities, Sleeping accommodations and a permanently plumbed in toilet and shower. I am sorry that I don't have the exact wording but it excludes tents and pop up. I for one may or may not have wanted towables. But I will go by the vote of the membership. Every member had the opportunity to cast their vote. It is obvious that out of over 74,000 member only a bit over 11,000 had enough of an opinion to cast a vote. I will continue to support the members of our chapters, the Six-State Rally Association and FMCA. I hope to have the chance to visit with each of you in Perry. Herman
  22. Keon, I don't remember the number but there was a recall on the workhorse brake calipers. Have your friend contact his coach manufacturer to follow up on the recall. Herman
