Piece Of FMCA History Found In Our Bus Conversion
hermanmullins replied to richard5933's topic in General Discussion
Richard, Welcome to the Forum. You have a good looking coach. The pillow you found is a nice symbol of FMCA. If you ever thought of getting rid of it I am sure the Motor Home Hall of Fame would love to have it. Herman -
Recommendation For TV Under 39" & Over 32"
hermanmullins replied to Kiltedpig's topic in Modifications
When I changed my front my concern was not he picture size but the width of the TV. Find one that meets your measurements. You can got on site such as Best Buy, Target, WalMart, Sams, Fry's and so on. There you can get the measurements you need. Herman -
Jumper, What that was is called an Evaporator Cooler. Some call the unit for a house a "Swamp Cooler." Most every time someone pulled the cord they would get a face full of water. Does anyone out there remember people hanging a canvas water bag on the front of the car to have water for when the car would over heat. Dang it all, I'm telling my age again. Herman

Motor home design engineers went to the same school that taught the automotive engineers that designed the Air Conditioning for the 55-56-57 Chevrolet's. (anyone out there remember them?} Herman

Welcome to your new Family, FMCA. Your now have 74,000 new cousins. Also Welcome to the FORUM. Many of us have passed RV-101 and are now into RV-102. As far as I can tell no one has every completed the course as long as they own a Motor Home. Just as you think you have experienced it all something else comes up. But the nice thing about the FORUM is that several others have "Been there, done that and have more than one Tee Shirt for it." Loving in Tampa you are in the Southeast Area of FMCA. (there are 10 areas for FMCA) The AVP, Area Vice President, for the South East is Betty Duncan. If you have any question feel free to email Betty at bduncanfmca.com. She can help you with Chapters and Rallies in you area. By the way if you can get to Texarkana, AR by the 25th you can join us at the Six-State Rally. Come on over the weather is great. Herman

Keep at it you may be the start of something big. Herman

Wil, Sorry for your problem. If we knew the make, model and year of your coach plus the maker of your Jacks we would be able to help solve your issue. Keep us posted. Herman

I think all of this is really funny, each and everyone of us can read and understand every word. Herman

As Bill said, Unplug the refrigerator. Then plug it straight into a shore power outlet that you know have power. It may just be your refrigerator and not the coach. Herman

Recommendation For State To Title A New Country Coach
hermanmullins replied to piperfrank1's topic in Buying an RV
How many folks that have their coaches registered as a Montana LLC have a CDL? I would be willing to bet way less than 1%. Herman -
Wayne, We are talking about Carl. Nothing is surprising coming from him. He might even air up his tires to Left Front to 113.5 psi, Right Front to 115.5 psi, Left Drive to 106.3 psi, Right Drive to 104.7 psi, Left Tag to 94.8 psi and right Tag to 95.0 psi. This is Carl, gotta love him. Herman

Recommendation For State To Title A New Country Coach
hermanmullins replied to piperfrank1's topic in Buying an RV
This brings up a question about RV registered as Commercial Vehicles. If you have your coach Reg. as a C/V do you need a CDL to drive legally? Do you have to comply with all of the driving regulations such as maximum hour driving per 24 hour period, Log books, Weight Stations and so on? Herman -
Several years ago FMCA stopped the mail forwarding service but they did announce it for close to 6 months. They did did have a service company in South Dakota lined up for those that wanted to switch. Dakota Post was the company's name. They didn't leave folks hanging. They all had fair warning and a new alternative. Herman

hermanmullins replied to jsmith74statesboro@yahoo.com's topic in Extended Service Policies
Jsmith, Sorry but you are out more than $1100.00. You are also out the cost of the extended warranty. Did the shop that did your repairs contact your warranty company and discuss the repairs and get an ok to proceed? Most EWC will not cover any repair unless they are called and they assign a service number and never after the work is performed. Herman -
2006 National RV Sea Breeze Tail Light Assembly
hermanmullins replied to cosmoandrus's topic in Electrical
Check out your Tail Light lens. As Bill said, there are numbers on them. Google them they might get you to the maker and part number. As an Example on our 2002 Monaco Dynasty the "Head Light Assembly" was from a 1998 BMW 528I. Monaco had them in stock $368.00 each. Got both on line for $128.00 for a pair.- 7 replies

RV Antifreeze Color Pink or Blue?
hermanmullins replied to szakaluk's topic in Water and Holding Tanks
I haven't winterized my water system in 10 years. (Heated bays) However when I did I never used the pink RV anti-freeze in the water lines or water tank. I would drain the system as best I could, water heater included. I would then blow out the system with compressed air one faucet, both cold/hot, at a time. I would put some of the pink A/F in both holding tanks and in the "P" Traps and toilet bowl. Herman- 6 replies

Should FMCA Allow Towable RVs-- Vote NOW
hermanmullins replied to rossboyer's topic in FMCA Feedback
repelatt, Let me ask you some questions. Are you in a Chapter? If so have you ever held an office? Do you attend either a Chapter Rally, an Area Rally or a National Convention & Family Reunion? Do you Volunteer to help anywhere? If you see the need to change the officers, you are welcomed to run for one of the offices. That are open to any FMCA member in good standing. What I am saying if not involved get involved. What FMCA doesn't need are more arm chair quarterbacks. IMHO Herman -
rereaves, Contact Blake in a PM. Sound like a deal may be in the works. Herman
