  1. Carl, If I understand it correctly, the category of "Associate Membership" is for former members. To become an associate you have to have been a member with a motor coach and an "F" number. Again if I understand it, as an "Associate Member" you still retain your number (**) It will just begin with an "A". you still retain your benefit like FMCAssist, the tire program and so on. However you may not hold any elected position at the Chapter, Area or National level and you have no vote on issues such as we have coming up on towables. (**) The number issued to you is yours for Life and can not be reissued. However your Children and or Grand Children may use your with the addition of "S" or "D" for Son or Daughter. The same goes for "GS" or G". Please someone out there correct me if I have gotten some of this wrong. Herman
  2. If you want Family Motor Coach Association to become just FMCA, and allow towables, VOTE. If you want it to remain the Family Motor Coach Association for motor homes only, VOTE. Either way don't complain if you don't VOTE. Herman
  3. Jim that is how the Thread was started back in May. If you would like a different title feel free to start another Thread (post) and give it your suggested title. Sorry I am not trying to be flipped or condescending. Hope you don't take it that way. Herman
  4. GunNut11, Welcome to the FORUM. FMCA, Family Motor Home Association, offers many benefits. The Michelin and Continental Tire Programs where you may obtain tires for your Coach and personal vehicles. It is a very simple program no added cost. They have a Road Side Service program that is an add on,($) There is also the great Magazine, Family Motor Coaching, that come to you each month, no added cost. But the one great benefit that is of no added cost to you is the FMCAssist Program. This is sometime refereed to a "Repatriation Program". Where should you, being more than 100 miles from your home, experience health issues (Death included) and it is determined that you must be returned to your home FMCA will take care of all the arrangements to have both you and your spouse, your motor home and pets returned to your home. I am sorry that I paraphrased the program. But it is a wonderful program. It is one benefit that I hope no one ever has to use. Herman
  5. Hay bud, be sure you have your Cummins Power Club number. 10% discount. If you don't you can get one there. Herman
  6. But that doesn't stop me from pushing the finest brake system made. 😊 Herman
  7. Benny, Great looking bumper. Before you get a brake system for your Jeep let me suggest that you look at the M&G Engineering Brake system. I have it on my Silverado. Have had it on a Jeep, a Yukon and on my third Silverado. On Monday give Monty a call. Tell him Herman said for you to call. 903-675-2812 Herman
  8. Does everything else that works off the chassis batteries and the house batteries work? There may be a fuse for the generator, have you checked for it? As Kay said when was the last time you had it started? You may have just a fuse issue which can be blown when connections are done wrong and sparks fly. Or it could be a bad starter solenoid. Herman
  9. Not familiar with the Southwind but most of my 12 fuses are in the compartment on the drivers side front compartment. Herman
  10. Here is a picture of the button in the passengers armrest. Had to remove the cup holder to find it. Herman Keyless_entry.wpd
  11. Great shot Joe the only thing missing is someone sitting with a cool adult beverage in hand. Ahh. Seeing your awning out reminds me that I have had an issue with our Girard Power awning for close to 4 years, It would go out under power but not in. A new PC board was close to $1,000.00. So for a long time I have cranked it in by hand. Think the ratio is 25 to one. In Indy I spoke to John the owner of Girard and he said he would take care of me, boy does he have a short memory. I did talk to one of his techs and he told me of an issue of solder connections on the board. So I got home and proceeded to remove the board. All of the connections are the same push and clip like on the back of some speakers. As I was removing connection I found one that was barely touching. Re-plugged everything back in including the loose connection. Guess what, the awning went out, the awning went in and out and in again. 4 yaers with a loose connection. I have a power awning!!!! 12. My theory is if it measures 12 volts on both sides of the fuse = GOOD fuse. If is measures 12 volts on one side and "Zero" on the other = BAD fuse. But what the heck everyone will tell you I am simple, or is that a simpleton". Herman
  13. If I understand it, the IRS allows you a one time exemption from Capitol Gains of $250,000.00 per person (co-owners a total of $500,000.00) and if am not mistaken you have to be over 65. Please don't hold me to this as gospel. It is something from when we sold our home in Texas, Tennessee may have different State Laws. Herman
  14. I have used wash & wax to clean the coach. Not to sure it is any better the the wash solution by itself. The one thing I know is if you wash the windows with w/w it is hard to clean the windows. It leaves a film that I conclude is the wax. Many times I will just wet the coach with water wipe and then rinse well with water. I have used vinegar in the water to prevent streaking. However that doesn't work too well, may be I am not using enough to rinse with. Between washing I will use Lucas Slick Mist. It is a detail solution in a spray bottle. Just spray it on and wipe it on. Herman
  15. Welcome to the Forum. Try workcampers.com Herman
  16. Jim, You are correct about the Ground connections on RVs. There are so many and there doesn't seem to be one central common ground point. But as you said start with the ground. I had an issue once with my Inverter. Even went so far as to remove it and have it bench tested. It was fine. When removing it I found that the common ground between the shore power and the Generator was a bit loose. Upon reinstalling the unit and being sure all connections were tight I haven't had a problem since. Ah Ground, so hard when you hit it , but so necessary for electricity. Herman
  17. Thanks for the Information on the card. I am going to contact our company and see if the have the same type of card for Canada. Only been to one Canadian Providence, Newfoundland, and didn't need a passport or insurance. Uncle Sam was footing the bills then. 1956 through 1959. Herman
  18. Isaaac1, FYI, at each and every National Convention there will be an App. for your phone about the Convention. It will announce the activities for the day plus and other goings on. I am sorry to say I have always been tooo busy to look at it but my DW looks at it all the time. She is reminding me all the time about something for that day. I see that you are located in SW Louisiana. Are you a member of the Cruzin Cajuns, Romin Catholics or Pelican Travelers? Will you be coming to Texarkana in October for the Six-State Rally? Herman
  19. As said, Welcome to the Forum. "we will have it all figured out soon" Just about that time comes something new will pop up. That is what is so nice about Motor Homing, Always something new and exciting. If you haven't already done so, look around for a Chapter to join. If you need any help please let me know. 20. I don't know if these instructions will even help. They are for a Keyless Entry pad on our coach , a Monaco. In the Arm rest on the passengers side there is a cup holder and a small compartment. The tray in the compartment came out and I felt around and found a device just dangling in there. I was able to pull it out enough to reprogram the lock. It has been so long since I did it I can't remember what it looks like. But I will go and see if I can take a picture of it. Herman
  21. Go go Lowe's or Home Depot and get a sheet of 1/4" clear or white plexiglass cut two stripes the width and length of your current mounting bracket. This will give you 1/4, 1/2 or 3/4 inches spacer you can match the holes in the bracket and you won't have to drill any more holes in the coach, just get longer screws. Might I suggest getting Stainless screws to avoid rust stains. Herman
  22. Kay, good point. The $280.00 figure was a figure I had over heard. The person may have been with another carrier and was speaking of just purchasing the MIFI only. Thanks for clearing it up. Hope yours works as well as ours. Herman
  23. Gentlepeople, As Tom has pointed out this post is about fuel miles per gallon. If it becomes personal then those post will be deleted. So keep it civil without attacking another poster. Thank you. Herman
  24. Syd, I think you had a sales agent that wanted to sell you the Very Expensive MIFI unit. I think it is around $280.00 for the device plus a monthly charge (I don't think the monthly charge is that much, just the device) Herman
