  1. On the older coaches when they wanted a longer coach they would extend the chassis and add a tag for support. To my knowledge they never had a way to raise the tag. Herman
  2. When I was a mechanic soo long ago we had lots of solid axle cars coming in for king pin replacement. The King Pin was secured in the axle with a tapered pin and the spindles had 2 Bronze bushings (1 upper and 1 lower). There were zerk fittings for each and the holes in the bushings had to be aligned properly so grease would be able to enter the bushing to lubricate the pins. Then they were line bored of proper clearance. The issues here seem to fit miss alignment of the bushings. I changed many and had a great teacher when I learned to replace them. Herman
  3. Isaaac1, If you would like send me a PM with your contact information and I will pass it to the Pelican Travelers. We have a couple that are member of the Pelican Travelers here with us at the Louisiana State Fair where we are volunteering. I am sorry you haven't found a chapter. I don't understand a chapter requiring mandatory attendance for membership. If you would like to join Lone Star you may come to one or all Rallies. We understand people have Jobs, family obligations and health issues and are welcomed when they are able to come. Herman
  4. When I replaced my dome with the Traveler it already had a hole for the cables to enter the coach. I just tied the new (3) cables to the old and pulled them through. There were two coax cables, Bill A. can tell you why 2, and one power cable. Since the dome I removed was the second dome put on the coach before we got it, there were lots of screw holes on the roof. I covered each of them with fiberglass with matting. In the Traveler installation package there was a new cap to cover the cables where they entered the coach. Lots of sealant there also. Herman
  5. RSparrow, Welcome to the Forum. Have lived in Dallas area for most all of my life (except for 8 years in the Navy). To the best of my knowledge I know of no RV Parks that would fill your needs. There are a few RV Parks around but none near Dart (Dallas Area Rapid transit). Might I suggest that you locate a RV park in the area and call Enterprise Rental. They will deliver a vehicle to you. There is a KOA in Lake Dallas about 25 miles north of Dallas. Let me know if I may help. Herman
  6. I put in a RF-18 Samsung 2 years ago and it has run on my 2000 watt Modified Sine Wave Inverter for the entire time. Never a problem. Herman

  10. If you don't mind, what are the age of your current tires? That would be my first concern. Herman
  11. Sorry but my thought is to stop over analyzing it. No matter where you go you will be too critical and never make a purchase. Herman
  12. Have you tried zeroing your meter? Then turn some item to see what the meter shows. Herman

  14. Wayne, I have a Hopper with 3 Joeys in the house and a Hopper with 2 Joeys in the Coach. Herman
  15. If you are speaking of Smithy then you are correct. Chris is FMCA'S Executive Director. Chris only responds when there is a misrepresentation of the facts which is quite often. Herman
  16. I was. I did. I forgot and left them too long , nothing but the rope left. Herman
  17. Kay, I read the article you posted. After you did your procedure do you drain the tank and refill it or just leave the water with the Hydrogen Peroxide in the tank and use the water? I sounds like the water would be drank able with no problem. Herman
  18. Bill, Sound nice, do you have any more information such as a picture or part number? Herman

  22. If a coach owner has a fear of freezing here is one thing they may do. If the coach is connected to shore power a 75 to 100 watt bulb will keep bays from freezing. You can, if you know hope how, put in a freeze guard. You can purchase a "Freeze Guard" from most any Pool Supply. It is a box that pools use to start the pump to move the water when the temp. get below 34 degrees. You can rig it where it will turn on your work light in your bay only when the temp drops. Used on for over 30 years on our pool before we sold the house. You could make it either portable or mount it permanently. Herman
  23. J, Welcome to the Forum. Your hot water tank has a drain plug close to the bottom of the access bay for the heater. It is a hex plug I believe it is 3/4 inches. Tank drain should be located in the Area for the pump. Herman
