  1. Roland, It is always reasonable to travel to TEXAS. Our border checks are not too bad, even for folks from Michigan. 😁😅🙄 Herman
  2. Keon, Like your new family picture. Hope to see you and your family at on of the Rallies. For the kids, think of Gillette. Great place for a rally, close to Mt Rushmore, Devils Tower, Yellowstone, Jackson and the Tetons. David and Loretta have lots on tap for the kids. I forgot Cody, WY and the Western Museum, a once in a lifetime place to visit. Herman
  3. On the Carefree Omaha there is only one spring. It connects to the right arm. The spring has a piece on the end that fits the groves on the inside of the tube. On the outer end is a tube with a slot that fits over the arm. It has a slot in the spring end where the arm has a pin to slide into the slot. When I replaced mine carefree told me 21 turns. That is why I suggested call the factory for the correct number for your awning. Herman
  4. Walter, Check with some RV Salvage yards. You may find what you need at one of them. I know that Colaws in Carthage, MO. has Allison transmissions from wrecked or burned coaches. Herman
  5. What model of Carefree Awning do you have? It appears you do not have enough tension on the roller. If it is very loose and just hanging you may have a broken roller spring. Not hard to replace and readily available. Tightening will depend on which Awning you have. When looking at the awning the bracket/brace/support arm on your right will be the side that connects to the roller spring. If the spring is not broken you can, with great caution, unbolt the arm. Before doing this, contact Carefree and find out how many turns it takes to tighten the roller spring. I would then, again with great caution, unroll the tension on the arm. doing this will give you the starting point for counting the turns. When you have done this. re-secure the arm and test the slide to insure you have the correct tension and the awning cap doesn't get caught. Herman
  6. There will be a nunber of us there and we will have Seminar on the Forum. Will address that when it is locked down. Herman
  7. RL, You might consider getting a 100 lb propane tank or even several 25 lb tanks and an automatic switch over valve like they have on trailers. Either one should last longer then a Jerry Can of gas. Herman.
  8. Your switches should be momentary switches. Did you check each for connection when pressed? Did your techs check for continuity on the retract wire to the motor? Herman
  9. Wayne, Just saw your signature. So sorry. I did have a slight chuckle at the irony of your message. Hope you and the Insurance Company reach a satisfactory solutions soon and you will find a new coach soon. Were you'll able to salvage anything from the coach? Let us know if there is anything we can do to help. Herman
  10. Jumper, As several others have done I installed my own. We have a 2002 Monaco Dynasty. We didn't have a furnace under our Nevercool. As for how to get it out I P/Oed the DW. I pulled the unit out and sat it in the floor. I then proceeded to cut it into pieces and threw them out the door one piece at a time. Getting ahead of myself. Before I started I got the unit I wanted to install, a Samsung RF-18. It is17.6cft. and runs fine on my MSW Trace 2000 watt inverter. I remove the doors, hinges and the freezer drawer. It was a complete rectangular cube. I then made a light weight wood frame. I then tried putting it through the front door. I found that if I removed the door stop, so the door could swing all the way open, removed the passengers seat, I was able to get it in the door. All that being said a lot will depend on the TV location. That was why I made the frame. If it will go through the door GREAT, if not you may have to go through a window. I did do a couple of modifications to the electrical, water and floor. If I can help send me a PM and I will give you my number and you can if it would help. Herman

Earl, speak for yourself. (I mean Carl)🤡 Herman
  12. Not sure if Denny makes a license plate but you can mount you oval in the space where your front license plate goes. For years I have had mine on the windshield on suction cups. Herman
  13. Wayne, Twasint me. I believe it was Puff or Jim but twernt me. I make enough blunders on my own.🙄 Herman
  14. Studebrucer, I understand your concern of the cost of renting an motor home. It is costly, however the cost is low if you don't like Rving. If you do enjoy ut you can make your list of wants and likes. Renting and enjoying your self is a lot less than purchasing a motor home and finding out it just isn't for you. Good and I hope you find what you want. Herman

  16. Mike, Sorry for your problem. Are we talking about when you got home and plugged in you had your issue or was it in an campground? Several questions. Are you using your cable from the coach to the pedestal or plug? I had an issue where my power was going haywire and it turned out to be my extension cable . It had a short in it and gave me all kinds of issues. Went to my coaches cable and every thing cleared up. Is your surge guard portable or mounted in your coach? As Brett said have you checked the plug with a volt/amp meter? And if you at a campground can you check another pedestal? If at home do you plug into a 50 amp plug, a 30 amp plug or just a 15 amp outlet? It doesn't seem possible that your outlet at home would change where at a campground nothing is impossible. Let us know what you find and we will see you next month in Texarkana. Herman
  17. FYI , FMCA holds two Family Reunions (aka Rallies) each year. One in March and one in July. The one in July, always has events for kids. David and Loretia Marlow chair the events. The last time we were in Gillette Wyoming (we will be back there July 2018) they had trips to Mount Rushmore and Devil's Tower. FMCA does everything they can to include families with children and still work. Herman
  18. I have to go along with the engineers. When they matched my coach's weight, length with the best engine and transmission, they knew a lot better what was best for my coach then I would ever know. Herman
  19. I always see signatures on my PC but not on my smart phone. Herman
  20. Dennis, Thank you for your service. Two years as a door gunner, you definitely know the definition of pucker. Glad you come home. Herman
