  1. FYI, If you might be traveling through Livingston Texas there is a fellow in the Escapees camp ground that weighs coaches. Sorry, I had his card but can't locate it now. You can google Escapees and they may have his contact information. You may also check with your Area Rallies to see if they will have a vendor weighing coaches at their Rally. Herman
  2. Darn Right. Chalk Boards, wooden pencils and fountain pins. Good enough for Franklin D Roosevelt, good enough for me. Sorry I may have to explain who FDR was. Herman
  3. Have been planning on going to HWH to have my leveling sensors adjusted. However thing just keep popping up that prevent the trip. Until then I will continue to use the "Bob Chalk" method to level. Bob has a Marathon MH with all the bells and whistles. He will sit and manually level his unit. he will get it where he feels it is right and Barbra, his much better half, will open the bath room door. When the door doesn't ghost (swing in or out when opened) he considers the coach level. It may not be scientific, but hay it works. Say no to swinging doors. Herman
  4. Richard, I know that you said that you didn't want to attach an awning to the coach for several reasons. That I understand. What I can't fathom is if you were able to get an awning made that would attach to a slide on the side of the coach, where would you store it. To be of any usable size it would need to be at least 10 feet long and extend at least the same. Then for any height, you would need for it to attach at least 8 to 9 feet above the ground. To put up an awning this size would require a minimum of 2 if not 3 people, a safe ladder (maybe 2) and storage for all. I will be willing to bet that if you were able to have such an awning and frame made you would only put it up once while traveling and it would be stored and never used again. So IMHO either bite the bullet and install a awning made for a motor home/TT or get a 10 X 10 or 12 X 12 popup tent and set it up and take it down and be able to store it in any of your bays. Herman
  5. Wayne, you need to get outside more. And a Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. Herman
  6. Thought I would ask the folks here if this is the best way to tow my Tracker? Sorry, I couldn't refuse sharing this in the towing section. Herman
  7. As Bill said you have on strange dump set up.Most systems have one outlet where the holding tank comes in one side and the gray water comes in the other side. When you dump you connect your sewer hose to the out let ant the other into the sewer. You then pull to holding tank valve handle and leave it open until the tank is empty and then close the valve. Then repeat the procedure with the gray tank. With a Macerator Pump the process is the same except it take much longer. Holding first then the gray. A picture of your setup would help. Herman
  8. Brett, I looked at the map and saw one of the most inspiring places I have been. It is the St. Joseph Apache Mission in Mescalero. It has a rich history and is a beautiful Mission. Herman
  9. Check your water level in your reservoir. The low water level alarm is the same as low air. I know from experience Herman
  10. West, I am sorry that you feel that way. I can assure you the FMCA is in no way trying to SCAM you. They are doing their dead level best to accommodate each and every member that is looking to take advantage of a very nice benefit. Have you contacted Cincinnati at 513-474-3622 and asked for help. There are some really nice folks that are more than willing to move mountains to help each and every member. Herman
  11. From looking at the picture he could have parked much further back, needed less hose and power cable. But then we can't see the whole picture. And we wouldn't have any humor in our day. As the ole radio announcers would say "Keep those cards and letters coming " and pictures to. Herman
  12. Billy Yes they said 24 to 48 hours, but remember there was a week end. And I am sure they are being bombarded with request and registrations, so again please be patient, you will be taken care of. Herman
  13. Although the solenoid was replaced less than a year ago they may have put in the wrong solenoid. They may have put in a momentary one rather than a continuous solenoid. Makes a world of difference. Herman
  14. tojomi, I had mine done 2 years ago. It is one job best left to the professionals. Yours is a side mounted unit. It has to come out from the bottom. and the coach must be raised high enough for it to be lowered out the bottom. I had mine done in Denton Texas at Inland Truck Parts. They did a great job. There is a company in Oregon called Source Engineering that will make you a new radiator, they have all part numbers, for around $4,000.00 plus freight. From all I had heard they do great work. Inland truck Parts removed mine sent it to Dallas where it was recored and put it back in with new clamps hoses and all the fluids for the same price. Good Luck. Herman

  22. To the best of my knowledge there is no way to break up the the build up of flakes in the bottom of a battery. When a battery is sulflated it is caused by the top of the plates getting dry. When the plates become dry they will flake off and drop to the bottom of the battery. When the flakes become thick enough in the bottom they will short out the plates. The best solution to this problem is Preventive Maintenance. Keeping the plates covered and not allowing them to become exposed to air and dry out. Herman
  23. Mike, The Part Number of the Shurflow Pump is 4008-101-E85 and cost $65.53. It can be ordered on line and shipped to your store for pick up with no shipping cost. Herman
  24. I bought a Surflow Pump from the strangest place, WalMart. It was a 3.5 GPM @ 55 psi. If I remember correctly it was $79.95 and was delivered to the store. I will post the Part number when I find the paper work. Works like a dream. Herman
