Allowing Towables Vote At Indianapolis In July
hermanmullins replied to jeff753's topic in FMCA Feedback
The "L" is for Life Member. A number of years ago FMCA had a program where you could purchase a Life Membership. It only lasted for a short period of time. "F" is for Family and if you see a plate that has a number such as "F12345 S", means that the son of F12345 has joined FMCA and is eligible to have the same number as his family has or had. There can be "S" = Son, "D" = Daughter, "GS"= Grandson and so on. I think it is a nice touch to be able to recognize your family tradition. Sorry for the miss information you received at the Tampa Show, but glad you got the correct information. Herman -

I have travelled I-45 between Dallas and Houston for better than 45 years and someplace has been under construction the entire 45 years and still is. Herman -
If those are not your paint codes you can take one of your covers, water heater or ref.doors, to a place like English Color Auto paint stotes. They can match the color a supply a small aerosol spreyer. Herman

Carl, Have you received your packet yet? Bobbie got her's yesterday. Herman -
Speck , Do you have a cover over the coax? If so remove it and there should be a larger hole through the roof. I would try pull, just a bit, to make sure it is free. If it is I would connect the old and new and pull from the inside. With one person on the roof to guide and push a bit and someone inside to gently pull. Been there, done that and got the Tee Shirt. Duane, You drive a nice Coach, Monaco. Have a great Braking System, M&G. Great that you are using your Family's F Number, F88969 "D" And Thank You for serving as your Chapters National Director. Herman -
Reread the post. Check your solenoids. My solenoid up in the front allows power to the starter solenoid. If the front is good then check the starter solenoid. Herman

Yes, unless you chassis batteries need them for a boost. Be sure and cover the disconnected cables to prevent them from shorting out because the engine alternator will be trying to charge them. Herman

Little black buggies and lots of great Amish food. Herman -
Sorry to hear you lost your A/C unit. Several questions, what kind and year is your coach? What size is your A/C? This might give your the opportunity to up size your unit for better cooling and better efficiency. Just a thought. And thanks for letting us know what you found . Herman

It sounds like she might be voting for how she feels and not how her chapter feels. Then again she may have her chapter's blessing. All NDs should canvas their chapter's member and vote accordingly. Many do and many don't. The NDs need to be influenced by their chapter members and not others. Herman -

Would we be able to maintain our numbers 😕or would we have a new 'P' number?😊 Herman -
Look at all the shivs and idler pulleys. I remember when all there was were the Harmonic Balancer, Water Pump and Generator (which was also the tensioner). Am I dating myself or what? Herman

The striker bolt is the post you see on your door frame. You will see one on all doors of your car, truck and Motor Home. It is what the door connects with when you close the door. Our Motor Home has two on our door. Herman

Dlong, Not being familiar with your coach I can only visualize in my mind. Is there a way you could install a decorative post secured to the floor and up the sides of your dash. At that point you could extend a hand rail further in and at a height that could give her added support and security. Herman

F434472, Did this just begin or has it been going on for a long time? Have you by some chance had the wind catch the door and wrench it out of your hand and possibly sprung the door? It may also be your striker bolt that is squeking, if so some lube and or a slight adjustment might help. Not too much grease, you do not want the DW getting it on her clothing. Herman

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the valet key was just for that, Valet Parking. You could lock you glove box and trunk when turning your vehicle to the valet, take your keys leaving just the valet key so the door could be locked and unlocked, and the engine started but nothing else could be unlocked. Good thought, ever so often unreel you hose completely lay it out straight and rewind it with out any kinks. I do not have a power reel for my water hose but I do have one for my power cable. I always help by lifting the cable, pulling it a bit which takes some of the strain off the drive. Seems to wind in better. Herman

David, We installed the Samsung RF18. Got it at Lowe's It isn't a stock unit but they will order it for you. It is a french 3 door unit. No water or Ice in the door but a very good Ice Maker in the bottom Freezer. You can remove both doors and hinges plus the freezer door and drawer and it will fit through you front door. I had to remove the passengers seat. What I did was make a light weight frame the exact size of the unit and worked it into the coach several times to make sure and got my sons to help put it in. As Ross said to works very well on our Trace 2000 watt inverter. I run ours on the inverter 24/7 with no problems. Plus no extra batteries. Let me know if I can help. Herman

John, Welcome back. Have you thought of Eagles Nest. Between Cimarron (Philmont Scout Ranch) and Taos. You are right there close to Angel fire. There is a beautiful lake in Eagles Nest. To my knowledge there are three RV Parks there. Late June and early July would be ideal. Cool but comfortable mornings Wonderful days and cool night that make sleeping great. Let us know where you and Jill decide on. My niece lives in Santa Fe and a good friend with a place in Eagles Nest. She is an artist and he is a McKinney Realtor. Herman

You might be able to check the blower motor by settings you thermostat on to fan and high. See if the blower is the loud rumble. Herman

Good advice. If you don't have a mechanics stethoscope handy in your tool box try this ole trick I used when I was a mechanic and could not afford a stethoscope. Take a long screw driver and place the blade on the object you want to listen to and put your ear to the handle. You may think you look silly but it works very well. Herman
