If I remember correctly the post was for the power cord drive. His son made the replacement gear. A hose reel stands up and the reel winds up horizontal. Search for power cord reel. Herman

Dennis, Welcome to the Forum. If you have a 12 volt hot and a ground that is off and on with the ignition you should be able to make a connection with out splicing behind the plug. Check with a trailer parts dealer and see if there is a plug available. Herman

My first thought would be to look for a frayed wire. With it working one time and then blowing the fuse tells me there is a frayed wire touching something when the slide moves. Herman

Remco Drive Shaft Disconnect
hermanmullins replied to punxsyjumper's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
As Bill stated they had reengaged the disconnect but felt like what happened was it wasn't fully engaged. Back then it was any thing but funny. However now, with no one getting hurt, we can all see the humor in the incident. Sorry Bill we aren't laughing at you but with you. As Bill said Remco Disconnect is still a good product. Remco Drive Shaft Disconnect
hermanmullins replied to punxsyjumper's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
Bill setting the Parking brake might have helped. However if you just put it in park with out setting the brake and your drive shaft is disconnected, park wont help much. Now back to the OP. The Remco Drive Shaft Disconnect for rear wheel drive vehicles is a very good unit to allow 2 wheel units to be towed 4 down. At one time they also made disconnects for front wheeled drive vehicles. However they were a real difficult to disengage and engage. Had to get on the ground under the unit for both shafts. I am not sure they still make them. I have always wondered why someone hasn't come up with front wheel hub disconnects like the old 4 wheeled drives vehicles where all you had to do was turn the knob. I remember them on Ford, Chevrolet, Dodge and Jeeps. Maybe a replacement front hub could be made that could be adapted to connect to the CVC joint. Herman- 41 replies

Bill, The turns on the awning rollers came from Carefree. You might check with the makers of your awnings on your Bounder, It may be different form mine. The one thing the extra turns added was tension to the fabric making them tighter with less flapping just due to age and stretching. Let us know how the Fabric turns out. How are you doing? Our prayers are with you each day. Herman

Aheart, Welcome to the Forum. If you can remove the shoes/pads and the wheel cylinder take them to a parts house. You may find an energetic counter person that can find the parts. Also check on your deferential there may be a metal tag on one of the bolts with make and model or other useful information. Good Luck, Herman

Great report, let us know the results when you get the module in and installed. As usual when there are exposed wiring it looks very nice and orderly, but when you get into the bowels of the wiring it all turns into a rats nest. Herman- 15 replies

Wayne, Another place to praise this Cummins service center would be in the magazine in the Reader's Forum. It can be done by email, readersforum@fmca.com. Herman

Remco Drive Shaft Disconnect
hermanmullins replied to punxsyjumper's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
Sorry Bill. I was told no lube period. Lube of any type attracts dirt. It is not needed. It does not spin it only slides in and out. Herman- 41 replies

Bill. The company that comes to both National and Six-State, I think the name is Shade Pro. Their quote to replace two combination slide cover and awning was abit over $900.00. Came home and pulled both sets of fabric off, repaired (sewed the busted seams) and replaced them. Carefree said to make 21 turns on the spring. I made 23 on each and the extra tension made the awnings much taughter. Herman

Remco Drive Shaft Disconnect
hermanmullins replied to punxsyjumper's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
Was told to spray it really heavily every couple of months with WD40, but to never lube it. The grease or oil will attract dirt. Treat is right and it will work well for you. Herman- 41 replies

House Batteries For 2014 Thor Palazzo 36.1
hermanmullins replied to thefinestperf1's topic in Electrical
An early production 2014 coach could be close to 3 1/2 years old. As Brett said, water levels, how are they and have you ever let the level get low enough to expose the plates? If so you could have sulfated batteries. Another thing, are the sides of the batteries flat or swelled out? Another sign of batteries diterating. Have you checked all cells with a hydrometer. Lots of questions hope they help. Also check the dates on the batteries. They could be up to a year older than the coach. Herman -
Two things to remember do not exceed the GVWR of your coach or rating of your receiver hitch. Have not heard of the 90% suggestion but it would be a good rule of thumb to go by. Always good to have a safety margin. Herman

Go to "www.colawrv.com" or call 417-548-2125. They have a number of Monaco coaches in their salvage lot. Look under used parts then type in Monaco. I found 5 or 6 Monacos there. Windsor, Knights and Dynasty. There prices are reasonable and will take them off for you. Herman

hermanmullins replied to nowronhere's topic in Electrical
Ron Welcome to the Forum. I am assuming you have a Monaco. Please let us know the make, model and year of your coach. If it is indeed a Monaco pull the cup holder out on the passengers arm rest. The module is down in the cavity below the cup holder. I would send the information but it is in the coach down in Nacadouches and won't be back for 2 weeks. Also it sounds like it could be a loose ground somewhere. Herman- 15 replies

Neal, Might I suggest that you look for a coach that has 3 roof top A/Cs. I believe you would have much better cooling over a basement model. Herman
