  1. Welcome to the Forum. What did the Thor technician say. I believe that is where you might start. Let us know what they say. This may be an issue they have addressed before. Herman
  2. If you have a true 1157 twin element bulb it is next to impossible to put in the socket incorrectly. It can only go in one way due the placement of the pins on the sides. One pin is lower then the other on the side of the bulbs brass case. Please check for a double element, double contact bulb with off set pins. If all three are correct then your problem may just be a bad new bulb. Herman
  3. neal, Basement airs are notoriously inefficient. Most people that have basement air either do not travel during the really hot time of the year or have some sort of supplemental type of A/C. That is with the exception of Prevost Coaches. In the past they were designed to keep up to 72 people comfortable in hot weather. I know of several people that removed their ventilation fans and installed a roof top unit. Sorry, Herman
  4. Understand, the yonger families have very valid points for their age group. While the older folks also have their valid points also. Young families have their close friends and most are through their children. Sports, School and Church. We went through the same times of our life. But as the children grew and left and friends scattered across the country our live changed as well. Now we have new friends all across this beautiful country of ours that we met through our association with FMCA and our chapter. So neither groups are wrong, they are both right for their time in life. I feel Blessed to have had both times I'm my life. Herman
  5. Joe, your DW have some very valid points. Most people in your age bracket have the same problems. Do you have friends that have motor homes with the same issues? You could get together for a few outings locally over some weekends. They may have friends that you may or may not know in the same boat. Then maybe you all could camp together. Your wife could meet other ladies and your kids could make friends from different areas. Then you might be able to come up with enough couples to start a Chapter of WEFs, (Week End Friends) This is just how FMCA began. A group of friends camped together and one day in 1963, in Hinkley, Ohio they decided there might be others that might enjoy the comradely of friends and began to organize into an association. (Sorry if I para fazed this a bit but you get the idea) Stay with us, your kids have at least 50,000 adoptive Grand Parents that would love to me them. Who knows the kids might teach us things we never knew. Herman
  6. DLONG9999, Welcome to the Forum. So sorry to hear of your situation. If you don't mind what kind of issues do you have? Is it ability to access the heights of the steps? Have you thought about adding a hand rail to the door. You might have to remove the screen door and make adjustments to the step cover. On the opposite side you might install a longer hand rail that would go all the way to the floor beside the passengers seat. Should you come up with a solution please let us know. Your solution may help others with a similar problem. Good luck, Herman
  7. Question, Who picked this spot? 😣 Herman
  8. Welcome to the Forum. Running a charge line to your battery will solve you battery discharging. As far to what fuses to pull someone else will know that answer. Again welcome. Herman
  9. JT, I had a leak and couldn't see the trees from the forest. Had my Aqua Hot serviced and Lloyd said, "by the way I found your connection on your pump was dripping and I tightened it" No More Leak. May not be your issue at all. By the way on many coaches the water tank has an overflow. Some folks just fill till it runs out the over flow and shut the water off. Problem is on many coaches the overflow tube is down in the tank and will siphon out the water till it get below the tube and you loose almost a third of your water. Just FYI. Herman
  10. Joe, I to have the RC7 Panel and would love to have the generator start when the house batteries get below a certain point. Read the Manuel can't make heads or tails of it. I can start my Gen. from three places. Dash, above the passengers seat and beside the bed. Just press and hold till is starts. Herman
  11. T1herman, In my way of thinking your best bet would be either a Tahoe, Yukon, Suburban or a Yukon LX. You would need one with a middle bench and a third row bench seat. Each of these will hold up to 8 people comfortably. Two in the front and 3 each on the 2nd and 3rd row seats. Might I suggest that you look of a pre-owned unit with four wheel drive. You may never use the four wheel drive to drive but they can all be put into neutral and towed 4 down. Herman
  12. The Monaco La Palma is a gas coach. Herman
  13. Bill, call RV Fog Doctor. (501-278-3015) They just replaced a friend of mines unit and they may still have the old unit. It was a Splendide that had some burnt wires on the control board and he decides on a new unit. Call Lee and ask about the unit He might be able to give it to Charlie to bring to Indy. Herman
  14. Yes they can. Like most things in life if you don't use it you lose it. Bearing surfaces need to be lubed while in use. Grease can dry out if not constantly moving. So as Bill said, drive it as little as possible until you have either fixed the joints or ruled them out. Herman
  15. 08, I agree with Brett, Start with the drive live line. You should have three universal joints and a carrier bearing. They all could be worn, If it is in the drive line I would replace all with grease able parts. Herman
  16. Mike, I have my lights wired with diodes and just plug into my coach. The diodes (4 of them) are wired into your lights so power will not feed back into your vehicles system. I have installed at least 20 systems for myself and friends. You can purchase the kits from most RV stores or on line. Or you can have most RV repair shops install them for you. Herman
  17. Thank you Carl. Most folks aren't aware of this. Carl was brought to this country by his parents at a very young age. He grew up and was educated here, became an American Citizen, Served in our armed forces and worked around the world in the oil industry. He always come home to the United States of America. Thank you Carl for your service and friendship. Herman
  18. Jim, A side story about driving in Texas. "A salesman was in El Paso and called his home office in Chicago. The home office said that since he was in Texas would he jump up to Texarkana and see a customer. Which the salesman replied "Why don't you drop down and see the customer, you are 20 miles closer then I am.'"
  19. I would loved to have seen how she trained the pup to us a litter box. Herman
  20. Robert, You can operate on 30 amp but you will have to really be aware of what you run together. TV and microwave OK. AC and TV OK. AC and microwave not OK. You just have to be very careful to not run high wattage items at the same time. You can run your front A.C. during the day, and change to the rear to sleep. Herman

    Fuel Fill Cap

Five, The fuel cap will differ between gasoline and diesel. Herman
  22. Joe, Thanks, Is this a 110 or 220 volt unit? Please explain the reason for the switch and what does it do? I like the looks of the unit. I was looking to have it as a flush mount, level with the counter top. But you have shown me an alternative. Again Thanks. Herman
  23. Five, didn't I read somewhere that the current CRVs are not towable 4 down? Herman
