  1. JEGREGG, Welcome to the Forum. As DD69 said look for state and Federal Parks. Also check out Corp of Engineers Parks around most lakes and rivers. They will all have "No Nothing" sites. Just a term from Nationals. it is not meant to be derogatory, just that the person want nothing when parked, no water, no sewer, no electricity and by all means no Generators. If you are old enough you might consider getting a National Park Pass. In the past it was called a"Golden Age Pass". Mine is still good but has another name now. Herman
  2. Sorry but did any one notice that this is a Six(6) year old post? Herman
  3. cthiggy, I'm Sorry but I have to agree with Bill. You stated in your other post on the subject of your dissatisfaction with your Holiday Rambler, that this was your 4th motor home. All of the items you mentioned would have been caught on a through PDI. Yes you seem to have gotten a lemon, however all the blame should not be on General RV nor RVI, you accepted the unit. I hope you are able to resolve your issues. Herman
  4. Barkley, Been awhile since we have heard from you. Hope all is well. Have you spoken to Dometic Tech service. It seems to me that it may just be an adjustment that may have come loose or never adjusted correctly in the first place. Good luck and hope you solve your issue. Herman
  5. Chuck, I found the maker of my head lights, BMW 528 I. I replaced them with a pair I bought on line. I found two adjusting screws on the back of each light. they were Torx screws and I was able to adjust them once I installed them. It isn't easy since you have to bend over backwards to reach in to make the adjustments. So look at the back of your lights for one or more screws. Herman
  6. Lem, Have you tried removing the positive battery cable? Remove the cable for about 5 minutes then reconnect it and start the motor this may reset your ECM. It is worth a try. Herman
  7. Bill, I don't know that much about shore power and generator power through the ATS. But my thoughts would be to find how the coach was wired when the conversion was done and go back to that. It worked for years. Why not now? Herman
  8. We will have vendor in Texarkana in October at the Six-State Rally that will be weighting all corners. Date is October 25th to 28th, 2017. For information give me PM and I will get it to you. Herman
  9. Joan, Was your father by some chance an FMCA member? If so you could get and use his number with an "D" for daughter. The other, Herman
  10. Joan, Congratulations, you must have Handsome, Smart, Highly Insightful and all around wonderfully good guys for a Father and Brother. A new Herman in your life. Herman
  11. Joan, Welcome to the Forum. Good luck. Let us know how it all went when your maiden voyage is over. Herman
  12. GMA, If you can get your jumper cables to the coach go ahead and jump start it. It would be good to have your vehicle change the coach batteries for a while before starting it. Herman
  13. Mark, Check with Motor Homes of Texas. They have several really nice coaches with tag axles, slides and under $200,000.00. motorhomesoftexas.com Herman
  14. Roger, I had problems with our no cool and finally went with a residential. More space, lots of ice and auto defrost. Love it. Got a Samsung RF-18. Herman
  15. Let me get this straight, I am going to have to raise the front end of an approx. 35,000 lb coach a minimum of 36" off the ground. Support it some how so that I might safely release all the bolts and electrical connections then lower a 300 to 500 lb generator to the ground with some sort of make shift lift or jack, then repeat the process to save a few hundred bucks. H'mmm Sorry, just not for me. Please be safe and let the trained people with the right equipment do the dangerous jobs. Herman
  16. Lyle, Glad you and Linda are safe, Sorry for the loss of your MH. Thankfully it can be replaced. Your lives are what are important. I hope that a fire marshal determines that the fire was caused by the fridge and you had documented that all of their recalls had been done by a licensed aka authorized dealer. From there I would be looking at what kind of coach Norcold would be buying for you. Good luck and again sorry for your loss. Herman
  17. Bill, Just to clarify my thinking. When you refer to your breaker box are you speaking of a breaker box where you get your shore power (aka pedestal)? From which you are connected to two 20 amp breakers that are wired to your 50 amp plug for your coach? Sorry for the confusion but I am just trying to get my mind around a picture of how you are wired. When I was into my Inverter here is what I found. On the Generator input I had 4 wires, Leg 1 Black & Leg 2 Red for power and a White for neutral and Green for ground. The Inverter was clearly marked for each. On the Shore Powers side I had exactly the same as the Gen. coming into the Inverter on the opposite side. You mentioned before that you have, many times received a tingle from the side of your coach. There must be a hot lead touching a ground somewhere. Since it is just a tingle is doesn't sound as if it is a 110 volt tingle. Do I remember that the Prevost coaches of your year were 24 volt systems? If so that may be where you are getting the tingle. Any way that is not good or safe for you. Please be careful you or Janet don't need the shock of your lives. Herman
  18. Jason, Sounds like you may have more ground issues on the a/c output side. When it comes to the gen side a generator I bow to the experts. Onan shop. Definition, EXPERT an EX is a has been and a SPERT is a drip under pressure. Herman
  19. Jason, Welcome to the Forum. Did this just start or has it been a problem for a long time? Does the generator continues to run and you just loose a/c from the generator or does it ever just kill the generator all together? One of your units may be drawing too much amperage. Which would need a tech to look at it. Herman
  20. Hassell, Sorry for your problem. By some chance do you have Coach Net, GoodSam's or some other road side assistance service? If so have you called them? In the mean time check your chassis batteries. Low voltage on the coach will cause the remote to not function properly. You can also try inserting the key and turning the key and pressing the open button at the same time. One may assist the other to open. But I hope that by now you are in. Herman
  21. Understand, I'm the same way. Is the fuel line into the generator possibly a flexible one? If so you might clamp it some way to close off the fuel long enough to change your filter. Herman
  22. John, A quick solution, go to an Onan Service Center and have them do your maintenance. Herman
  23. Rob, if you can have all the fluids anylized. That can tell you a lot about the maintenance of the coach. Herman
  24. Rob, Welcome to FMCA and to the Forum. Call FMCA office at 513-474-3622. Ask for the tire program. But do it today as soon as possible today. It will take a bit to get it all arranged. Herman
  25. There is no set time or amount of water to add to your batteries. When they are checked and full no need to add water. If low add water. Herman
