  1. Jack, by any chance were you in Gillette last year? A number of folks had the fins on their A/Cs almost closed completely from the hail. Also it there a chance you can change out your vent cover so you can direct the air down, or can you bend the deflectors so the air goes down rather then to the side on to the top of your slides. Herman
  2. Jack, what FMCA is now providing is basically the same as the Medex they had before. It will be included in the membership dues. The reason Seven Corners ad was in the magazine was the ads went in several months ago and the Vote was taken in Redmond to reinstate the coverage and to include it in your dues. There will not be an increase in dues either. So no you will not be having to purchase the coverage. Herman
  3. We have a bunch of QTs opening truck and auto stations around here. They have a card, QT Pumpstart. It allows you to completely fill up. You do have to go in to pay but the pump doesn't cut off every $100.00. I also have a Pilot/Flying card. Herman
  4. I lost my cruise control a few weeks back. It turned be the stop light switch. Ordered one from Rockauto and had it in 3 days later. My stop lights worked fine before. Herman
  5. Jack, Midland, Texas, there is no direction you can go this time of year that it isn't very hot. I see that you travel with the kids and they do more around. We have always put up a curtain behind the drivers and passengers seats and the dash air is kept up front. In your case is there a way that you might put up a curtain across the coach far enough back so the kids may be seated where the dash air can help reduce the heat. Have you looked for some vent covers that would deflect the air front to back and not to the sides? Good luck and try to stay cool. Herman

    Air Bags

Ray, When I dump the air bags my engine is off. The bags will stay deflated until I hit the level button. At this point the correct air bags will inflate until the coach is level. There have been many times when I hit the level button the coach will not move because it is already level. My bags will not inflate again until I start the engine and turn off the level switch. My coach will remain level by the onboard air pump. I am not sure if any other coach mfg.'s have the option but Monaco has Air Leveling as an option. Standard is Jacks. If you select the Air Bag option you will not get the jacks unless you request them. I know of some folks that have both and level with air and stabilize with the jacks. Air leveling will give you a little more movement then jacks on solid surface. Herman
  7. alang, There are many good manufactures that make good pumps. The things to consider would be pressure, GPM, size and cost. I am sure you will make the correct choice for your unit. Herman
  8. alang, Welcome to the Forum. Many pumps have a particulate filter on the inlet side of the pump. Check and see if you have one it may be clogged. Do you have other filters after the pump? How is the pressure when connected to water in a camp ground? If you have good pressure when hooked up to shore water and all filters are clear go for a new pump. Good luck, hope you get over your dribble showers. Herman
  9. Russ, Welcome to the Forum. My suggestion would be to look up your transmission on line and get a owners manual. There it will tell you the maintenance schedule. It is good that you are starting a recorded schedule on your coach. Might I ask if there were any maintenance records from the previous owners? Sorry I can not help on a service location. I am sure one or all of those listed will do you a good job. Welcome to the DP world. Herman

    Air Bags

Ray, sorry but just feathering the brake will only release air from the air tanks and not from the air bags. Jack if your dump on your air bags is real slow you may have a blockage. I could not dump the air on our last Monaco. I thought I needed to replace the dump valve solenoids (there were two). What it turn out to be was blockage from dirt dobbers. Cleaned out the valves put on filters and the air dumped with out a problem. On my Monaco I have to hold the dump button down until the bags are dumped. My procedure for leveling is to first shut down the engine, dump the air bags, then press the auto level button. I have air leveling and the air in the tanks along with the air pump my coach will level. There is a small air pump that will continue to maintain the correct air. Herman

    Air Bags

John, If you have leveling jacks it is good to release (dump) the air bags. This will lower the coach so your jacks will not have to extends so far and you can level better. Also Jill will thank you for having the step closer to the ground. Herman
  12. Are all C/W locations company owned or do they have franchises? Herman
  13. Bad things happen to good people. That is what we hear. Lets not dwell on the negative but shout about the positives. Does anyone out there have a good, great or even wonderful experience from the Rally? If so let hear about it. Herman Mullins Southern Region VP Six-State Rally Association
  14. Just a little information when traveling through Colorado. If at all possible stop in Pueblo. Down town around the Convention Center there is a memorial for Medal of Honor recipients. Pueblo is Honored to have five recipients from there. To me it was aspiring and a privilege just to be able to read their stories. Herman
  15. Michael, deenad brought up a good thought. To operate your TV when dry camping you could purchase a small portable Inverter to run your TV. It could plug into your charger port. You would have to access the TVs power cord to unplug from the AC outlet and be able to plug it into the inverter. Good luck and look forward to meeting you and your bride in Shreveport. Herman
  16. Do you have locking hubs on the front? If so, disengage the hubs, put the transmission in neutral and you should be in freewheeling. You should be able to tow. .
  17. Bill, What I have found is to send an email to the tech dept. Since you are still on the move, the tech can send you a solution while you travel and you can hopefully resolve your problem when you are camped. One things I have found in my compartment doors is rust. Most of the pins and joints are behind panels and do not get lubed. I have opened all of my compartment doors and lubed them and on our doors I have replaced all of the latches that had the plastic pins with ones with aluminum pins. On your door that will not latch take a look and see if your pin is either broken or not moving at all, if it is not moving try the ole stand by WD40 and lots of it. Then a good lubricant. Good luck and keep them closed. Herman
  18. This may sound strange but are all of your cargo bay doors closed completely? Some bay doors have override switches that will not allow slides to operate if a door is open. Herman
  19. Roger, From what I an see there was a metal failure and not a weld. It looks like the fracture is in the rectangle tubing. Can you see if the fracture is fresh or does it look as if has occurred over time? Such a break can be repaired but it will take a very good welder along with good dimensions and drawings. Please be sure to look at the other side for signs of structure failure there also. Like many things I wonder what caused a failure. You can replace a blown fuse but what caused it to blow. A structure like yours can be repaired but what caused it to fail in the first place. Find Scott Zimmer and see what he has to say. Good luck and glad there was no more damage. Herman
  20. Rodger, Welcome to the Forum. Sorry for your problem. Are you speaking about your tag axle? There was a recall on the single axle but not on the tag. The unfortunate thing is that the recall was when Monaco owned the company but since it has changed hands the warranty on the older units are not applicable. You mentioned pictures but none were attached. Can you post them. It will give folks a chance to give better answers. Herman
  21. RH, Welcome to the Forum. We have an M&G Engineering brake on both our Silverado and Saturn Vue. Works well on both. Herman
  22. Bill, I think a lot depends on how you use your tow vehicle. We have towed a standard 4 X 4 Wrangler, a Yukon 4 X 4 auto and now tow a Silverado 2 wheel drive auto with a drive shaft disconnect. All fit our needs. From what I have seen you have the expertise to tow any type vehicle. The Jeep has had its problem lately so I would be careful on them for now. Some people may think I'm foolish but if I had a vehicle with a locking steering wheel I would remove the locking pin so I could lock the vehicle. I know you will make the right choice for you. I plan on p/m you later about a TV and dish. Herman
  23. Yes Michael I will be there. You may not know, but I am the Southern Region Vice President for the Six-State Rally Association. I will be all over the place. Are you going to be in Security or working in the vendor area? Look me up if you can. Herman
  24. astmi, Sorry for your problems. Thetford has had severe problems with their model 1200 fridge. Might I suggest that rather then replacing a $600.00+ circuit board that you might consider replacing the entire unit. With the cost of the board you will be almost a third of the cost of a residential unit. I believe the Samsung RF 197 will fit with very little modifications. But please don't condemn the entire company for one division's problems, Thetford make many great products that have had no problems. Good luck. Herman
  25. Michael, is your counter top Corian? If so you might contact a counter top company for suggestions. Herman
