Don't hold me to this. I was told that some people are having their roofs sprayed with a material such as Rhino Liner. If so that should seal just about anything and then some. I would sure hate to have to make a repair on it. Herman

Lyle, You could cut two 1" X 3" boards long enough to reach from the floor up past the rod. drill a hole large enough for the rod to go through. Stand the rods up, one at each end and secure them to the walls. Several screws to secure the boards will hold up the rod and support the weight. Herman

dd69, I agree with the number of lights you were able to do but my lights were really bad. Mine almost looked like they had been sandblasted. I was looking for replacements but could not bring my self to pay Monaco's price. I found out that they are from a BMW, right now I can't remember the year. FYI to those out there, most MH headlight assemblies are from a auto mfg. Herman

Bikeman, 3M makes a kit that work fairly well. The kit I purchased was about $25.00. It took one kit per light plus my time. I might reconsider that cost if I knew then what I know now. Herman

Tires: from 255/70R22.5 to 275/70R22.5 Rev/Mile Adjustment
hermanmullins replied to smalexander's topic in Chassis
Steve, One more thing I would check is the gap (called "dual spacing) between the Rear dual wheels. You may need a spacer between the rims. Herman- 6 replies

Washtech, Is your switch a momentary or 2 position? If it is a 2 position then here is what I would do. First I would dump the air and then go out and check to see if the Tag Axle wheels are raised up off the ground. Then I would go back in the coach reverse the switch and go back out and check to see if the wheels have lowered. That would answer your question about the raising and lowering the Tag. I understand that some tags will go down after you exceed a certain MPH. My Dynasty will stay up till I reverse the switch. It does have a alarm but I can't hear it but the DW can and will let me know to "Lower the Tag dummy". Herman

Motorhome Electrical Outlets Not Working
hermanmullins replied to susansmellcat's topic in Electrical
Susan, Welcome to the Forum. In your coach you should have an AC Electrical Panel. Check and see if you may have a tripped breaker. Let the Forum know what make and model coach you have and someone may have the same coach as you and have had the same problem. Herman -
Stan, Thank you for your service. Herman

FYI, it is called "GOLDEN AGE PASSPORT". Good Luck and enjoy the Rally. Herman -
If you are traveling during the summer months, then a nice stop is Canyon, TX to see the canyon and the play Texas in the open air theater. Also a must see is Cody, WY and the Bufalo Bill Museum. Cody to Yellowstone is a great road and wonderful sites. If I remember correctly there are some Dude Ranches along the way. Sorry that you only have 10 days, there is so much to see along the way from Red Stick in the Mud, LA to Yellowstone. Herman

Del, Welcome to the Forum. The first thing I would do would be to have all the tires inspected and balanced. It is one of the first things you can do to eliminate in your vibration. When you feel the vibrations is it in the steering wheel or do you feel it through the seat and floor? Steering wheel, front = front tires. In the seat and floor indicates rear tires. Also if you can take a look at the shocks and check for signs of leakage. Herman

Michigan Operator License Requirement
hermanmullins replied to zse4xdr5's topic in General Discussion
zse4dr5, Welcome to the forum. In the CDL books there is the exemption for Motor homes, farm tractor and so on. However if you look in your states operators manual it may tell you that you would require a A or B Operators License to drive a coach in excess of 26,000 lbs. as Wayne stated. So check out your Operators hand book. In Texas the difference between A & B is that A allows you to tow over 10.000 lbs. Good luck and again Welcome to the Forum and join a chapter if you haven't already done so! Herman -
QuiGonJohn, The check valve in your pump is very easy to change. At any time have you been hooked up to city water supply without your pressure regulator on your hose? If so there may have been enough pressure to damage your check valve. I had a pres./reg. that went bad for some reason and I had to replace it. Everyone loves the mysteries of the sounds coming from our MHs. Herman

Flat Towing With Or Without Brakes
hermanmullins replied to ajrahman's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
In the great State of Texas any thing being towed over 1200 lbs requires brakes. But I would check with your States requirements and also check with your insurance company to see what they require. If you are in a state that requires brakes and you do not have them on your tow and are involved in an accident, your fault or not you could be held responsible and your insurance may not pay off. Be safe and check. Happy New Year to all. Herman -
Best Smartphone
hermanmullins replied to Jurisinceptor's topic in RV Internet to Go/Staying in Touch
Yes Ticat some of us do need a smart phone. We only have our cell phones and no land line. Where we live there is only one phone company and the only thing we can get is dial up. We use our smart phone for the Wi-Fi Hot spot. We can use the hot spot any where. We can get a dish mounted for around $300.00 and then spend $50.00 per month for service where the data plan on our two phones is around $20.00 per month. So there are some people that are glad there are smart phones. So sit down, have a drink of your favorite beverage and relax. Have a Happy New Year. Your follow Rv'er, Herman -
Poor Low Beam Headlights-- Need A Remedy
hermanmullins replied to racesport's topic in Type A motorhomes
ticat, Back in the sixties I did the adjustment with a machine for $1.50 the Inspection cost $2.00 if I remember correctly. I am going to print out your instruction and try it soon. One thing we all forget is the difference between our cars and the MH. Look how much higher we are to the road. Just the thoughts of an old man, almost as old as Rich. Merry Christmas to all. Capt. Glad you got your unit working. Yes the solenoid valve get stuck quit often. However your unit needs to be serviced annually. But be sure you find a good tech. I had problems with mine but finally found a great tech, Blue Moon RV Service and Repair in Carrollton, TX. Mine works fine now. Herman

Can I Still Drive An RV With Parkinson's?
hermanmullins replied to acreed's topic in General Discussion
AR, Congrats with the word from your Doctor. Try watching the magazine for all of the area Rallies. Check to see if one of them is having the driving school at their Rally. Just after the Six-State Rally in Sedalia there was the SMART Rally. They had a Driving Instructor that gave a private session to one of our friends. Give me a Personal Message and I will give you their name and you can call then and get the name of the Instructor. Herman
