2013 FMCA Rally Storm Damage
hermanmullins replied to dkreuzen's topic in FMCA Gillette, Wyoming, 2013
Bill, Try an HVAC supply house. They have a good deal of tools and cleaners for A/C units. Their cleaners may also be used on radiators. Herman -
gbconsta, Do you have jacks? If so, as Puff said, you may have to break the hydraulic lines so the jack can retract. However if you only have air leveling then you have another problem. You didn't say where you were parked, in a CG or at home. Either way if you have Coach Net or some other service I would give them a call to have your coach moved to a service area. Good Luck, Herman

"New" 1990 Bluebird Wanderlodge "Smoke and Mirrors"

Nice looking coach. Looks like it was well cared for. As Bill said replacing the old TVs would be a great up grade, however when you pull your old TVs get at least one if not two strong friends to help you. It is unbelievable how much those old units weigh. While you are at it you might consider a good dish that you can receive HD TV and watch two shows at the same time. Bill can walk you through any help you may need. Enjoy your new coach. Herman -
Depending on the height of the incline, rollers can be both good or really bad. Air bags can lift, to a certain degree, the body leaving the weight on the drive wheels. The rollers can allow the vehicle to roll over the incline, but if the drive is too steep it can take the coach weight off the drive wheels and lose traction leaving you stuck with your wheels just spinning. In some cases a vehicle can back up a grade where it will drag going forward. Herman

The magnetic is the method to reset the Circuit. However if the board will not reset, (reset means the red light goes out), You can bypass the board by disconnecting the black wire from the small circuit board and put it in place of the Blue wire coming from the small board going to the main circuit board. This is only a temporary fix and you should get the unit to a dealer ASAP! Herman

John give me a call and I will tell you what to do if the second recall board fails when traveling. Herman

John, Norcold has had several recalls. The first was a device to prevent over heating. The second was to install a sensor to detect over heating and would shut off the power to the unit if over heating occurred. The second recall had about a 50% failure of the circuit board. If I am not mistaken if your wiring on the back of your refrigerator has a yellow tag on one of the wires your are OK. Take the serial number off your unit and call Norcold and they will confirm if you need to schedule an appointment with a dealer. Herman

BILL, Sometimes if the cap is too close to the tank the foaming of the diesel will cause back splash. Herman

Bruce, I'm just in awe that a retired AF Vet can still make the mattress move. HERMAN

Ron, Yes Oklahoma is called Tornado Ally for good reason. That being said by the time you get into this area there should be no problem. However if you may still have concerns you may consider going across Kansas from Kansas City to Denver on I-70. Not the most scenic drive but neither is Hwy 66 through most of OK. Also you might consider I-80 into Cheyenne, WY. Again not the most scenic but both are above the OK flat lands. You and Bonnie have a safe trip and stop along the way to smell the flowers. Herman

Rick, Welcome to the Forum. Are you a FMCA member? If not come and join this wonderful group of folks. Is your A/C vented with several outlets or just one vent. Our coach has vents and they are sheet metal. You may have to remove the unit but I would start with a flash light and mirror and look for a nest of some sort. Good luck on finding your blockage.

Manholt. Sorry for your problem. There can be several things to cause your shimmy. You could have lost weights on your wheel and the tire is way out of balance. Your drag link may be bad. A tie rod end may have become loose. You may have a bulge on one of your front tires. (next thing to a blow out). You may also have a tread separation on one of your front tires. Good luck, glad you are close to home. Herman

Leo, See if you an find someone that has a 2005 HR Navigator. See if you can read the numbers. Mine were made by Hella in Germany for a 98 BMW. Haven't found on yet but am still looking. Good luck. Herman

Gayle you may go up through Nebraska on I-80 to Cheyenne. Then up I-25 through Custer. Hwy 20 to Shoshoni and 20 to Thermopolis and 120 up to Cody. And then 14/16 on into Yellowstone. This route will take you through some hill but no steep mountain climbs. If you'll are Western Art and Firearms people don't miss the Buffalo Bill Heritage Center. It is a place to talk about for years to come. Enjoy Yellowstone. Enjoy the trip. Herman

There is a solenoid that may be bad. On my Dynasty it is in the front fuse bay. You can turn key the on and check the continuity. if there is none then the solenoid is bad. Herman

Mark & Kathy, Check with restaurant and/or office supply stores. You should be able to buy one or more with out having to buy a case. Herman

Ken, Congratulations to your Granddaughter. FYI, be sure your holding tank is empty before you remove the unit!!

Tilldee, Did you check http://.www.rvparkreviews.com Found Rocky Top but it was in Blountville, TN. rvparkreviews.com has good reviews. Herman

Gerald, How long have you been in the shower where you can't open the door? If the Mfg. doesn't have one, check with a RV salvage location, they are on the web. Does anyone know if there is a residential shower company that make the same type of shower? Herman

Would "CLR" work? Herman

Rod, Several years ago I purchased the 6' ladder that folds up to about 4" X 4". I bought the single side and should have spent a bit more for the double side. I put a 6" piece of PVC with caps on both ends and was able to hang over my fuel cell and to keep it out of a bay. herman

Sorry bm, if your starter is clicking you have power to the starter (no bad fuse). If you have the knowledge you can remove your starter and check the solenoid. There 2 copper studs and 1 copper plate in the solenoid. They can become burnt. You can clean they and replace them in the solenoid. While you have your starter out you can take it to a parts house and have it tested. It may just be the solenoid and save yourself over $500.00. Herman
