  1. Mdawdy 712, Welcome to the Forum. If you have a steerable tow dolly you do not need to have your steering wheel unlocked. If I understand most all dollys have steerable wheels. Herman
  2. Tom, Does pulling those two fuses effect your EMC? If so wouldn't a Battery disconnect work just as well? If it doesn't effect the EMC when you have to pull the fuses then there would be no need for the disconnect. Another thought. Could you wire in a double pole single throw switch that would be the same as pulling the fuses and you wouldn't have to get into the fuse panel each time. You could put fuses in line to protect the circuit. Herman
  3. Amby, the steering wheel on your 06 blazer does not have a locking pin. I assume that you have 4 wheel drive. If your battery is only "sometimes" dead I would have the battery checked. If you are talking about a brake system that is opperated off the coaches air brakes you should not have anything draging down the battery. However if you have a buddy brake or something simular then that could be one reason that your battery is down. As for your keep alive connection from the coach to the Blazer you shoud have 2 fuses. One at the coach and one at the Blazers battery. Check the out put on the Line to be sure it is charging your battery. Herman

    Cummins ECM

Sounds to me like the smart wheel controller. Check the connectors. I have one burn out the unit. However it was the circuit that controlled the lights. Herman
  6. Lyle, Sorry I made a miss statement The charging wire only needs one fusable link. Herman
  7. Shut off the pump, Drain the tank and take the coach where you purchased it. The dealer where you picked it up from doesn't want to work on your coach. He doesn't get his full flat rate for fixing your coach and didn't make any money from your purchase. SORRIEEEE. Herman
  8. Lyle, What you need is a wire from the Positive side of your Coach Battery to the Positive side of you vehicle Battery and it should have fuses at both batteries.
  9. Sweet Roam, Welcome to FMCA and the Forum. Since you have just joined FMCA there hasn't been time for the information to get out of the Office. Every time a new Family joins FMCA the Office send notifications to all of the Chapters in the area where you have your address. You should get a note, a call or an email from Chapters in the Western Area. If you don't get some responce from Chapters in your area let FMCA know. We need new member such as yourself and the Chapters need new members. Good luck and I hope lots of Chapter contact you. Herman
  10. Pete, One more thing It is a good Idea to have all fuel tanks full when you enter the Park. Fuel is very expensive in the park. Herman
  11. Pete, Welcome to the Forum. You should have no problem on the roads in Yellowstone. Now there are some places you can walk to that are fairly high up but you wont find any problems while on the road. When you leave Yellowstone and go into the Tetons the roads are very good and no drop offs. Go enjoy. Herman
  12. nelsokelso, Sound to me like an alignment problem and not a power steering problem. How are your tires wearing? Is there any signs of cupping? It may be something as simple as too much toe out on the front end. Toe out and the coach will try to center both front wheels and they fight each other. Too much toe in and you will have scuffing on the tires due to each tire pushing on the other. Before replacing the pump have the alignment checked. Herman
  13. Lyle, Did you put a fusable link in the line from the coach to the Battery? If so is the fuse blown? What size wire did you run between the coach and battery? Too small and you may not be getting enough power. Do you have a auxilary braking system? With out any thing on in the car disconnect the Positive cable and put a volt meter between the cable and post. If the meter reads 12 volts + with every thing off that indicates a draw on the battery. If there is a draw, remove one fuse at a time and replace it if the meter still reads 12 volts. When you pull a fuse and the meter drops to zero that is the circuit that has a draw. It could be something a simple as a glove box light that is on. Hopes this helps you find the problem. Herman
  14. 2Has, First welcome to the Forum. I think you will enjoy moving to a Motor Home. One thing is no cranking to unhook and leveling. Push a button and the coach does the rest. Now to your question. As Wayne said many different openions on wheels off the ground to level. Here's mine. Never have a tire off the ground to level. This is very unsafe. And never let the rear wheels leave the ground (Parking Brake). Consider just one senerio. You have your wheel off the groung and there are high winds. Do you want your coach supported on a solid footing, suchs as tires and jack, or do you want your coach supported by a 2 inch diameter piece of tubing resting on a 6 X 6 inch plate. If you are parked on a site that is so unlevel that a wheel leaves the ground, move sites, move back or forward on the site, or put your wheels on pads to support the wheel when leveling. Also remember if you need to put your wheel up on 3 to 4 inches of pads your jacks will need the same amount of support. Hope this helps. Herman
  15. Yes I just purchased 3 tires this year. They were around $668.00 each mounted and balanced. 18 months ago I purchased 5 tires and between then and not They had gone up $180.00 each. They were Goodyear G670 295/80R/22.5. Herman
  16. retirement, Welcome to the Forum. Your best shot at finding the covers you need would be a Chrome Shop. You can find them in most area where there are a lot of truck service shops. Herman
  17. I just figured out Leo's problem. He must have had the coach in a garage in North Carolina. Every shop down there sets every car to turn Left. Just an old NASCAR trick. :D
  18. Sorry, I read and reread and finally saw the steering gear. But I still feel that the best way to check out the box and pitman arm would be to have the wheels off the ground. Now a question. Even if the pitman arm is out of position it would still move smoothly in both directions, right? Maybe too far to the left and not far enough to the right. Aren't pitman arms keyed? Herman
  19. Thinks, I now understand that he is referring to the steering wheel. Now my theory: If the coach turned OK before he had the pump replaced and now it has problems to the right, It could not be the pitman arm in the wrong position. I have worked an many vehicles and never heard of removing the pitman arm to replace a power steering pump. If the pump went sour and debris got into the lines. It may have gone into the right side if it was turned to the right when the new pump was installed. I don't know if it can be done but is there a way to flush the system? If the front end is raised off the ground will the wheels turn both directions without the engine running? Will the wheels turn both directions by hand? They might try running the engine with the wheels off the ground and turning the wheel both directions several times. If there is still a problem it seems to me to be in the steering box. Another thought, was the coach towed into the shop? If so something may have been bent. ???? Herman
  20. Leo, Sorry for your problems. You need to give as much information as you can about your engine. Mfg., Model, Horse Power, ans so forth. You spoke of the Power steering pump and the hydraulic powered fan. You also stated that it (?) would turn fully to the left but not all the way to the right. Are you speaking of the Fan or New Pump? There are some smart folks out there but they need more information. Hope someone can come to your rescue. Herman
  21. About you being outside washing the coach in the rain or you being outside in your bathing suit?
  22. Oldman, Look at your cables. There are numbers on them. They are most likely 2/0 cables. You can purchase cable at your local welding supply store. They also have the lugs you require. They will be less there then any place else but will still be expensive. Herman
  23. FYI to all. I feel that the finest braking unit is the M & G. However M & G has its limitations. Since the unit fits between the Power Brake Booster and the Master Cylinder some vehicles do not have room for the Master cylinder to move forward the required 4 inches. That is the limit for some vehicles. Herman
