  1. Paul, Welcome to the Forum and to the wonderful Life of RVing. Locate your fresh water tank. There should be a flex or Pec tube coming out near the lower part of the tank. This line should run to the pump. In that line there can be a shut off valve and sometimes your drain which would also have a shut off. If there doesn't appear to be a drain in that line, look under your coach in the area under the tank and look for a piece of tubing coming through the floor. Check where the tube comes from and that should lead you to the drain. Now if all else fails, Close the valve between the tank and pump, Turn off the Pump. Remove the line coming out of the pump and hook up a hose to the pump that can reach out side of the coach. Then open the valve and the water can drain out. You came speed up the process by turning on the pump and it will pump out the water. When through just reverse the process. Herman
  2. Misty, Welcome to the Forum. Check the Radio and see if the Fader is set to the rear and not balance in between. Herman
  3. Larry, did it leak when you had the slide in? If not then I would have pulled the slide in until it stopped raining and then look for the source of the leak. Herman
  4. JT, Heres what I would do. I have 50 amp power cable for my coach and therefore I would plug into the 50 amp plug. I would then go to the GCs office and ask, "What is the 60 amp plug for?".
  5. This will only work on Dish if you have a multi LND Dish. I believe that Direct standard receiver works off a single satellite while Disk 311 receiver used 110 and 119 satellites. If you do not have a Satellite on your roof now it would be in your best interest to go with a multi LNB dish and be able to go as high as HD TV when you want. At present time I use the receiver from our farm and move it into the coach when we go out. On Dish I have to run the Switch Test and every thing works fine.
  6. kyoldguy, Are you sure your tires are 285/80 16? I would think they might be 285/60 19. 10 years is a long time for tires of any kind. "BE SAFE, REPLACE" Herman
  7. ctcamper, Are you a member of a chapter? If not, tell us where you live and someone from your area might be able to locate or even be in a chapter with Cribbage Players. Herman
  8. JM, Go to the FMCA Home page go to chapters and look up Texans on Safari. There may be a member that can help you. Herman
  9. Gentlemen & ladies, Go to www.rvparkreviews.com. Go to LA. and check out Gonzales. Herman
  10. pmarth, Had good looking tires on my coach. Side walls looked great. loads of tread. However when I had them changed (due to age), I found large dry rot cracks all around each tire between all treads. Be Safe not Sorry, Make a deal with the dealer to replace all tires. Herman
  11. Andy, you are correct about alignment. However the only thing that can be aligned on a dolly would be the toe-in, But the toe-in has to be correct or the dolly will try to wander and cause excess tire wear. Herman
  12. Yes Bill it was a work of art, like a Chinese fire drill. The truck was a one ton. On the front was a post wit a ball that the trailer hitch locked into. The pontoons rested on two carpeted rails on each side and the boat was secured with straps. I towed two pontoons on pontoon trailers end to end. Each had a pontoon mounted on top of them. I had a special wiring harness that was operated from the dash with a switch for the running lights and the brake lights and turn signals were connected to the trucks harness. The reason for the separate line for the running lights was that there was too much draw on the head light switch and burned several out before I found the problem. Also since I was running through Arkansas at night and there were several weight station on the Interstate I would switch off the trailer lights as I passed ans then turned them back on when i was clear.
  13. Bill, this can be done however you have to have a frame made for the truck. As I said before, one ton crew cab duelie. Frame is mounted on the back of the bed supports in the front of the bed and supports off the front bumper. It can be narrow where the pontoon sits down over the frame or have rails that the pontoons rest in. Either way it isn't for the weekender. When I had this setup I hauled 5 boats. two pontoon in tandum. each with a pontoon or V bottom on top of each and a pontoon or V bottom on top of the truck. A 14 foot pontoon on top of a 1/2 ton PU is just asking for trouble.
  14. I moved boats for years and it took a one ton, crew cab dually. How are you going to load and unload it? We had to use a lift to both load and unload. I would be very concerned about you toad being top heavy and not being able to control the possible sway. Most states have a 65 foot length limit check to see if you could pull a double. 33 foot coach, 20 foot tow vehicle and a 14 foot boat plus tow bar and tongueand you are somewhere around 70 feet. Might I suggest that when you want to take the Pontoon boat to have the DW drive the tow vehicle and pull the boat and you drive the coach. Herman
  15. More reasons to being bald, and not carrying pets.
  16. Ichenkin, Welcome to the Forum. This is just my opinion. Magnetic lights have to be stored when not in use. They have to have long wiring to connected each time tow and removed when you want to drive the toad. Those wires need to be secured to the toad some way so they wont flap in the wind and mark the side of the toad. You can have your lights wired with diodes with just a pigtail under your hood. it will store when not in use and all you have to do open the hood pull out the wire and connect to you toad. By using the diodes your lights will function and not feed back into your harness and possibly cause damage. But they are the best way to go in my opinion. I have wired more then my share of my friends and my cars. Hope this helps.
  17. And aren't we glad they are. I would rather hear it sound and not find a leak then for it to not sound and there be one. Herman
  18. John, If you are in the position to replace your dish and you plan to up grade to HD later might I suggest that you look at the three LNB Satellite dish. It is an open dish and can not be used in motion. Bill can tell you which dish taht would be.
  19. concreteman, Welcome to the Forum. Several thing need to be asked. 1) Is your Explorer four wheel drive? 2) If not you would need a drive shaft disconnect. 3) If so, does it have a neutral position in your transfer case? 4) I don't know if the 96 Explorer had a neutral position or if you have to have the switch kit installed. If so yes you can tow it. I would suggest that you also install or add an auxiliary braking system of some sort. Have the Explorer wire for your lights to connect to the coach. There are several different tow bars on the market as well as Aux. Braking systems.
  20. John, Welcome to the Forum. Now give it up John, put on some rubber gloves and do the dishes for the DW. It would be a lot less expensive and You don't have to be clamped to the counter and You are easier to store.
  21. Andy, On this same subject. If you can safely get on your roof, check your AC covers. I found mine were beginning to have stress cracks around the screws. I was able to put large fender washers on each screw (to have more surface area covered) and have checked several times and have not found any more cracks. Sorry that you lost your cover. I have lost covers in the past and when I got the repacements there was a frame with the cover. Hope you can get covered again. Happy Thanksgiving Herman

What they need is more information. So if you have a problem lets speed up the process. http://community.fmca.com/public/style_emoticons/#EMO_DIR#/huh.png Give as much information as you can Brand or Manufacturer, Year, Model Number, and an in-depth description of the problem. With this information you will get your answers quickly and from many sources. The more we know the faster the answers. http://community.fmca.com/public/style_emoticons/#EMO_DIR#/smile.png Thanks to all and have a Happy and Safe Thanksgiving. Herman
  23. bdantin, Welcome to the Forum. I see that you did replace the cap and the system pressured tested OK. Did you also test the Cap? I just knew that I had a leak in my Aqua-Hot and checked it for some time because I was loosing coolant. My system checked OK with a pressure test. Before I took the tester back to the parts house I tested my cap. It would not hold pressure. So when I returned the tester and got a new cap I tested a new cap and it would not hold pressure either. I tested the second cap and it held pressure fine and now my unit is working fine and is not leaking coolant. So you may want to check your new cap just in case. Good Luck. Herman
  24. Andy, When traveling down the highway it isn't a good idea to have your cordless screw driver laying on the dash. Do you have a remote control for your awning? If so something may have signaled the awning on the remote. May your Holidays always consist of both Thanksgiving and Christmas. Have a Happy and Merry of each. Herman
  25. Tim and Beth, as the others have said "Thank you." As this Holiday Season nears at both Thanksgiving and Christmas, let us all stop and give our thanks and prayers to all of our Service Men and Women that are insuring that we can have our seasons. Happy Thankgiving and a Merry Christmas. Herman and Bobbie
