  1. What you have is refereed to a flexible conduit. It is used in industrial machinery. What it sounds like is that yours may not have been lube enough. It is most likely exposed to road dirt and debris. Check with some industrial machine tool companies. Good Luck. Herman
  2. Jocelynn, Talk about a stinky problem. There are sewer connections that come in a "Y". this way you may connect two hoses into one. It would take a little more setup time when dumping but you could pipe both drains into one then you could dump both tanks without moving the coach. This would work well when you are camping for several days in the same CG. One of the good things about a single outlet for the tanks is that when you drain the Holding tank firsts you can then drain the Gray water and it will flush the hose. So remember if you do go with the "Y" setup to be sure and flush the short hose from the Holding tank with water before storing. Good luck and good draining. Herman
  3. Rocky, My son loved all your movies. Sorry wrong Rocky. As Brett said, when you use a step up transformer it robs power from the grid. If two or three coaches all had step up transformers working at the same time other folks in the park would have below safe voltage and start to burn out appliances. If you stay in newer parks I fell you would have adequate power. Herman
  4. Bob, Welcome to the Forum. Sorry for the problem. One thing you may try are Velcro straps. You can put one around arm and strut, tight and as far up as you can reach. I had this happen to me is AZ. But was the driver side living room awning that blew out 15 to 20 times in one day. As you had, we had heavy gusting cross winds. However I could slow down to a crawl and BAM it roll back end and just a little bit later flap it would unroll again. What I did was stop at a Hardware Store and bought some PVC pipe, Pipe insulation, duct tape and cable ties. I got 3 foot pipe. Dust taped about 6 inches of Insulation to each end of the pipe. I placed the pipe about 18 inches up the strut with the same amount below the bend and cable tied the pipe to the strut. This would not allow the awning to unroll. Kept it on that window, except when camping, til we sold the coach. This would not work on your large awning but is great for window awnings. The Velcro Straps works on the large awning. You could lock the arm and put the strap around the strut and lock. FYI, if you have ever had your awning straps flutter and roar in the wind, try this. Twist the strap once or twice and re hook the strap. No more flutter and roar. Herman
  5. racecar, I visited with James, sorry I forgot his last name, of Extreme Grafics in Nacodoches. Texas. I spoke to him about removing the Diamond Shield from the front of my coach and repainting the lower half of the front cap. James quoted me a price of around $3000.00, however that included the labor to remove the D. Shield. He said that that was the very hardest part of the job. I have seen his work on full body paint jobs and they look terrific. Sorry I don't have his number but he has a web site. Give him a look see. Herman
  6. Jim, You are in a position that a lot of us wish we were in. You don't have a dish at this time and can install a new 3 LNB auto seeking dish. It may cost a few dollors more then a dome but a lot more if you decide you want the 3 LNB. The only thing you will not have is in motion. I don't know of many people that use the in motion while driving. My suggestiion would be to go with the 3 LNB dish. Good luck, Herman
  7. Larry, you are right, lets get back to your question. When you are in a RV Park and see someone displaying their FMCA Plaque/Goose Egg. Stop and visit. Invite them to your coach for Happy Hour or as some call it "Meet and Greet" time. You could drop a note by the office or leave a note on their coach. I have never met a FMCA member that wasn't proud to be a member. Some are members of Chapters others haven't found one to join yet. This way you can make new friends and no one has too many friends. Good luck, now go out and shake some hands a meet some nice folks. Herman
  8. Kevin, Our Momaco Dynasty can with a keyless entry system. I love it. when I open the coach it unlocks all compartment doors and locks them all when I lock the unit. I am not sure how hard it would be ti install a aftermarket unit. I think it may be very difficult. Herman
  9. Pappy, Welcome to The Forum. You have two Tee Handles you pull to dump your holding and gray water. The smaller one is for your gray water. These are your slide valves for each tank. Purchase a valve from your local RV Supply House. Drain the tanks. Use your jacks to raise that side of your coach. Remore the 4 bolts remove and replace the valve. Be sure the two gaskets are in place before you tighten the bolts. You should be good to go. The reason for tilting the coach is to move any water residue away from the drain. Good Luck. Herman
  10. We have had Dish Network for many years. In our home we have 2 HDDVRs and one standard receiver. My 2 DVRs are at our home and the Standard rec. is at our farm. When we go on a trip, I just take the receiver from the farm and put it in the coach. Sometime we go less then 50 miles and can't get our locals. But sometimes we are 200 miles from home and we will get our home channels. When we plan on being in one place for several days I just call Dish and they will transfer us to the local channels where we are. Dish has always been very understanding and will switch our locals with out and hassle. I do not ask for a RV tech I just speek with whom ever picks up the call. At present time we are also changing out our coach TVs to digital and will get the Bat Wing adapter and we will see how that works on the locals. One of these days when our ship comes in we might change our dish to a Hi Def. 3 LNB dish. Herman
  11. Brett, I posted on December 17, 2009, "Oh what I wouldn't give for a concrete floor". I now have a 50 foot wide by 40 foot deep metal building with a concrete floor. Now all I need are some really big jack stands so I can crawl under the coach. I am too nice of a fellow to be crushed by a 40 footer. Herman
  12. I new dat uses would wait Tell me more about DeLorme.
  13. biz, With all the bad reviews on the 7710, do you really want to be one of the first to buy the unproven 7720? Just wanted to give you something to ponder. Herman
  14. Larry, Sorry for your bad luck. However Monaco is still in business and have many parts available. If you contact their parts department and they do not have the door they can order one made.A friend of mine damaged two doors and was able to get them from Monaco. And yes you have a fine coach. Bill, I believe you are correct that Navistar has moved all but tech support back to Indiana. Now, nobody asked but here is my thought on the matter. I feel that in a few years Navistar will find that they can build trucks but have no idea as to how to run a Motor Home company an will put it up for sale. Just my idea (and Hope) Herman
  15. Rich, I have polished many square feet of aircraft with nevrdull. I tryed it on my non coated, oxidizes 22.5 wheels and it was even more work then I remembered. Here is what I have done. 0000 steelwool and polishing compound. It will break the oxidization and I then use Mothers wheel polish. After I get all 6 wheels done I plan to get the required coating and spray on a clear coat. It is not quite the same amount of work as nevrdull but is a lot less costly (and yes it get black also). Herman
  16. 77, This is just my own opinion. I think 36 foot is pushing the limits on a gas engine. Add a toad to that and i believe you will have some power problems Going from 33 feet with a 460 to 36 feet, with slides and a 454 might be pushing the limits. Just my thoughts. Good luck. Herman
  17. graybeard 101, Welcome to the FMCA and the Forum. I would contact Alcoa to have a look at the wheels. You have coated wheels and if you use a solvent to remove the film you may indeed void the warranty. You could use a solvent on the center caps. They are Stainless Steel. But don't let the dealer just say Duh. Good Luck Herman
  18. Oil Filter is under the engine and is a spin off filter. The Air Filter is the same place as any 454 engine but is under the dog house. Lift up the dog house and there it is. I believe Rick or Brett will have a web site for manuals. Good Luck. Herman
  19. Tireman, Thanks for that answer. After purchasing 8 new tires . I thought it was just me feeling safer and was driving a bit faster. I understand the problem that Harryusa was having and your answer sound reasonable. Herman
  20. Action, just thought I would wade in here and ask a question. Have you ever had your Gen. running while traveling at low altitudes and begin to climb to higher elivations? If so did the Gen. continue to run? If so it may be a glow plug problem as Brett aluded to. Herman
  21. Harry, just consider it your alertness alarm. Herman
  22. D Graig, Welcome to the Forum. 68 & 71 and still riding, CODOS to you. Check with a boat dealer. There is a powered dolly that is self contained and uses a 12 volt battery. Check with them or google power dollies. Herman
  23. Gary, Welcome to the Forum. Yes heat can be a problem for most anything glued. In Texas it has played havoc with lots of cars and trucks. I had to have a problem taking care of in a Mercury Mariner Head Liner because of the heat. I was told that it could not be reglued due to the material. I would talk to a upholstery shop. They may be able to help. Herman
  24. bbnutt, I heard somewhere that CC was building coaches again, but on order only. No spec coaches. Did I hear correctly? (Still a fine coach.) Herman
  25. bbnuttmann, No offense meant. Scam in this case was acronym for Sorry Charlie Ask Mac. Herman
