  1. Just remember that when the key is on for power to the Accessorie outlet you will be racking up miles on the Toad. I always recommend that auxilary power be run fom the coach to power the brake. This way you never have a dead battery and you will not be racking up miles. Herman
  2. Bassman, Wow, a Fish & Ski with a 330 cat and Allison 6 speed. Great, what does the coach have?. Welcome to the Forum, nice coach. Herman
  3. hd, Welcome to the Forum. Google RV Salvage. Check there and I will bet you find a rim at one of them. Herman
  4. MaryJac. I to am your age. Like Brett said, you and only you can and will know when it's time to give it up. I still feel like I can do most anything I have ever done. However, now when I have to get down for something, I look around to see if there is anything else I need to do before I get up. At our age we can take a little longer and see more then we have. Good Luck Herman
  5. Can everyone say grease and a shoe spoon? Good Luck Herman
  6. api, 1 inch may not sound like a lot but it will effect both your spedo and you mileage. I also believe you will have a softer ride with the 80's, just my opinion. Good Luck and do look at FMCA Michelins program. Herman
  7. Yes Andy I have replaced quite a few resistor in autos. And it was right there in plain sight on the right side firewall in the plenum. Is your between the plenum and wall in your entrance under the dash? If so it may be a job removing not only the foam but the screws also. Good luck and be careful. Herman
  8. Back when I was in the boating industry we had a problem with one boat. It came with 16 gallon tank. They decided to go with a 18 gallon tank the next year. In doing this they made it where the fuel would have to go up to get into the tank. Before the year was out they had to replace every boat that they put the 18 gal. tank in. Does your tank have a short neck that goes straight into the tank or is there a bend in the fill neck? If it has a bend then there might be the problem. One thing is that diesel will foam and can stop the auto fill til the foam recedes.
  9. key, Welcome to the Forum. Have you considered a storage unit that is covered? Herman
  10. WyoWander, Welcome to the Forum. Check out www.rvparkreviews.com. Go to Nevada and look up Mesquite. You might find a place there. Good Luck, Herman
  11. Tell me about it Jack. I just removed our CRT and replaced it with a 32" Vizio. I cut my cabnit back 7" and reinstalled every thing. Removeing the old CRT should improve my MPG with that reduction in weight. Herman
  12. The electronic sound good. However I have never had the battery die on my print copy while sitting on the luve. :D :D
  13. 40X, that isn't a bad idea, but be sure the off side is not lower then the side you are filling You could end up with a large spill. Herman
  14. I just reworked my TV Cabinet and my old TV had Audio R & L out that went to my VCR/DVD player. I had sound from the surround sound only when I had the VCR/DVD player on. My new TV doesn't have the Audio R&L out lets. But hey I'm deaf in one ear and can't hear out of the other so surround sound sound the same to me as anything else. Herman
  15. denali, Also I am sorry for your first Rally experiance. Might I suggest that from the home page you go to Chapters then to International. Take a look at come of the Canadian Chapter. You may find one close to you and you can visit one of their Rallies. A Chapter Rally is the way to start with the FMCA experiance. Try sending an email to Al Vormittag, International Area Vice President. avormittage@fmca.com. Al should be able to help. Good Luck and Stay with us. Herman
  16. dd69, Do you think that it might have been the brand of refrigerator? I only ask because many folks installed residential units that work fine. Is there a way to tell on the unit if it uses MS waves. Herman
  17. Tammy, Chapters have received several "Free Memberships" each year. It is my understanding that those that receive the free membership are the ones that get the temp. number. Since this program was introduced, are there any numbers as to how many did renew and received a permanent Number? By the way Tammy, You and all of the staff in Cincinnati are doing a wonderful job. Cudos to all. Herman
  18. dd69, Now I have heard of a coach with two tanks. What are their capacities? Is there a space problem where one larger would do? Just wondering. Herman
  19. Dwayne, Some coaches are prewired for several models however I have never seen a Motor Home with more then one tank. You didn't say what make and model coach you have. If new they may have put the wrong panel in. (Side note, all capitols indicate that you are shouting.) Herman
  20. OBS66, this is some good information. I beleive the sale on magnets may have just gone up. Now to Norcold. We all have been through one or both of the recalls. On the last recall was when they ty-wraped the Black Box to the pipe. Only through the Forum have folks learned that if the Red lite is on the refrigerator isn't. From that everyone understood that the Black Box was bad. Now when you call them their response is "How do you know its the Black Box?" That is a good question. Now a good question back to the tech would "What else could it be?" Norcold never to my knowledge told anyone what the Black Box protected. So now we know that we don't have to worry what caused the Black Box to go out, we just take our Magnet and reset to Box. There are a lot of folks out there that have just by passed to Box and their unit is working fine. No wonder the cost of a replacement unit is so expensive, Magnets cost a lot of money to put in the bag with the new unit. Herman
  21. Mr Boyer, You are correct about special markings, The only place to get FMCA Plates is Kelly Mold and I am assured that if the request is for something not on the approved list they would ask for approval from FMCA. Herman
  22. Wayne, I have never seen a "I" on the plaque. F= Family, S= Son, D= Daughter, L= Life and I believe there are some GS & GD for Grandson and Grand Daughter. I think I am correct. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Herman
  23. Skinny, Welcome to the Forum. The answer is cost. For those that have the hook ups but no washer/dryer you can pour Pink RV Antifreeze in the trap. It will not evaporate like water does. Herman
  24. Allan, Welcome to the Forum. If you can make your trip in June you could catch the FMCA Family Reunion Rally in Gillette, Wyoming. The dates are June 19-20-21-22, 2013. Herman
  25. travelcade, Welcome to the Forum. May folks have said what a great unit the Howard Unit was. Since they are no longer in business I see no problem with your thought. Go to a good hydraulic repair shop and have them reseal the cylinder. What Sam said, is Ok but it is leaking now. If it is rebuilt and doesn't leak you are good to go. If it is rebuilt and still leaks you are only out the cost to rebuild. To me that is a no brainer. Go for it and good luck. Herman
