  1. Robert, Give North Texas RV Repair in Denton, TX a call. They have a shop on Hyw 380 West of Denton and a new shop out on I-35 North of Denton. Call Ken at 940-482-0186. Great folks and good service. By the way, Welcome to Texas Herman
  2. Tim, Funny that you should mention ESSEX Credit. When we bought our current MH we went to ESSEX. They do not make loans per say. However they found us a great interest rate. When I told the dealer that we would be using ESSEX they were a little taken back. They did not know who they were and were reluctant at first. They did change their toon when they received the paper work from Wacovia now Wells Fargo. ESSEX got us 2% less then the dealer found and we got 1 17 year note. ESSEX is really nice to work with. Also you and Beth have a great Thanksgiving and a Wonderful Christmas. Herman
  3. K, I understand the front air dam but how about the rear? It looks to me that if you get the Mini on the dolly the front end can be as much as 8 to 10 inches up which would lower the rear end. Bumps and dips could damage the rear farings as well. What do you think. Herman
  4. Steve, Welcome to the Forum. Are you talking about the same type of Glass (laminated) that they used to have in Autos? I always thought that the reason for double pane windows was insulation. If you are talking about two sheets of glass with the film in between I am not sure there would be much insulation. Let me know if I am misinformed. Thanks Herman
  5. Jr. Most MH have switches in the Battery compartment. There is also a Battery switch in the entrance area. List the Year of your Fleetwood Exp. Then someone with your coach can give you better information. Good Luck Herman
  6. Sorry I thought you meant that you just had property in Texas. If you are interested in Central Texas, I have several friends that have lots in the Lake Whitney area with Homes with RV covers. They seem to have the best of both worlds. Along the Coast there are a lot of RV Communities where folks have lots and live in their RV but also travel. Several years ago we bought some land in the Whitewright area where there was a mobile home. We built a barn to house the RV and we keep it there. We plan to retire there this next year. We will build there after we travel for a short time. There should be something for you out there. Keep looking and Good Luck Herman
  7. SEETON, All of your question depend on where you live now. Check for nearby lakes for Developments that offer RV Lots. Again where are you located. If you live in Up State New York it is hard for someone in El Paso to help. Give a little more information and there will be someone in your area that can help. Good Luck, Herman
  8. Jim, Welcome to the Forum. On a 99 454 you have fuel injection of some kind. All fuel injected engines require an electric fuel pump (most are in the Gas tank). They have a fairly high pressure. There is a connector on your fuel line that you can check the pressure. If you do not have pressure or have low pressure the engine will not run. There are two solutions to this. One you can have the pump in the gas tank replaced. Two you can have a external electric fuel pump added close to the tank. (most electric fuel pumps push the fuel rather then pull the fuel). I opt for replacing the pump in the tank. Herman
  9. bandnmak, If you have a propane heater you can run it without the generator on for a while. The fan is 12 volts and will run on your batteries. But you will need to start your generator from time to time to charge your batteries. I hope you put your coach up with full tanks so you can have enough fuel to get you through the storm. Hope you and your family are OK. All FMCA members are remembering you folks in their prayers.
  10. Mdawdy 712, Welcome to the Forum. If you have a steerable tow dolly you do not need to have your steering wheel unlocked. If I understand most all dollys have steerable wheels. Herman
  11. Tom, Does pulling those two fuses effect your EMC? If so wouldn't a Battery disconnect work just as well? If it doesn't effect the EMC when you have to pull the fuses then there would be no need for the disconnect. Another thought. Could you wire in a double pole single throw switch that would be the same as pulling the fuses and you wouldn't have to get into the fuse panel each time. You could put fuses in line to protect the circuit. Herman
  12. Amby, the steering wheel on your 06 blazer does not have a locking pin. I assume that you have 4 wheel drive. If your battery is only "sometimes" dead I would have the battery checked. If you are talking about a brake system that is opperated off the coaches air brakes you should not have anything draging down the battery. However if you have a buddy brake or something simular then that could be one reason that your battery is down. As for your keep alive connection from the coach to the Blazer you shoud have 2 fuses. One at the coach and one at the Blazers battery. Check the out put on the Line to be sure it is charging your battery. Herman

    Cummins ECM

Sounds to me like the smart wheel controller. Check the connectors. I have one burn out the unit. However it was the circuit that controlled the lights. Herman
  15. Lyle, Sorry I made a miss statement The charging wire only needs one fusable link. Herman
  16. Shut off the pump, Drain the tank and take the coach where you purchased it. The dealer where you picked it up from doesn't want to work on your coach. He doesn't get his full flat rate for fixing your coach and didn't make any money from your purchase. SORRIEEEE. Herman
  17. Lyle, What you need is a wire from the Positive side of your Coach Battery to the Positive side of you vehicle Battery and it should have fuses at both batteries.
  18. Sweet Roam, Welcome to FMCA and the Forum. Since you have just joined FMCA there hasn't been time for the information to get out of the Office. Every time a new Family joins FMCA the Office send notifications to all of the Chapters in the area where you have your address. You should get a note, a call or an email from Chapters in the Western Area. If you don't get some responce from Chapters in your area let FMCA know. We need new member such as yourself and the Chapters need new members. Good luck and I hope lots of Chapter contact you. Herman
  19. Pete, One more thing It is a good Idea to have all fuel tanks full when you enter the Park. Fuel is very expensive in the park. Herman
  20. Pete, Welcome to the Forum. You should have no problem on the roads in Yellowstone. Now there are some places you can walk to that are fairly high up but you wont find any problems while on the road. When you leave Yellowstone and go into the Tetons the roads are very good and no drop offs. Go enjoy. Herman
  21. nelsokelso, Sound to me like an alignment problem and not a power steering problem. How are your tires wearing? Is there any signs of cupping? It may be something as simple as too much toe out on the front end. Toe out and the coach will try to center both front wheels and they fight each other. Too much toe in and you will have scuffing on the tires due to each tire pushing on the other. Before replacing the pump have the alignment checked. Herman
  22. Lyle, Did you put a fusable link in the line from the coach to the Battery? If so is the fuse blown? What size wire did you run between the coach and battery? Too small and you may not be getting enough power. Do you have a auxilary braking system? With out any thing on in the car disconnect the Positive cable and put a volt meter between the cable and post. If the meter reads 12 volts + with every thing off that indicates a draw on the battery. If there is a draw, remove one fuse at a time and replace it if the meter still reads 12 volts. When you pull a fuse and the meter drops to zero that is the circuit that has a draw. It could be something a simple as a glove box light that is on. Hopes this helps you find the problem. Herman
  23. 2Has, First welcome to the Forum. I think you will enjoy moving to a Motor Home. One thing is no cranking to unhook and leveling. Push a button and the coach does the rest. Now to your question. As Wayne said many different openions on wheels off the ground to level. Here's mine. Never have a tire off the ground to level. This is very unsafe. And never let the rear wheels leave the ground (Parking Brake). Consider just one senerio. You have your wheel off the groung and there are high winds. Do you want your coach supported on a solid footing, suchs as tires and jack, or do you want your coach supported by a 2 inch diameter piece of tubing resting on a 6 X 6 inch plate. If you are parked on a site that is so unlevel that a wheel leaves the ground, move sites, move back or forward on the site, or put your wheels on pads to support the wheel when leveling. Also remember if you need to put your wheel up on 3 to 4 inches of pads your jacks will need the same amount of support. Hope this helps. Herman
  24. Yes I just purchased 3 tires this year. They were around $668.00 each mounted and balanced. 18 months ago I purchased 5 tires and between then and not They had gone up $180.00 each. They were Goodyear G670 295/80R/22.5. Herman
