Doug and Sharon, Welcome to the Forum. Do you know if your Norcold has had both of the recalls preformed. I so you will a small black box approx 2" X 2" square in the service area. If the red Light is on you need to reset it. You can do this by running a strong magnetic over the little black box. You may have to do this several times. However if you see Yellow Dust all over the coils then you Norcold is cooked. Sorry for you troubles, but don't be a stranger. Herman

Understand, if you have never been to Jackson Wyoming go, if you have time. Beautiful city. When we were there the wife fell right in front an art gallery. She almost fainted. The least expensive painting cost we saw was way over 12 grand. Still a beautiful City Herman

Anybody use a store-bought log book?
hermanmullins replied to urbanhermit's topic in Type A motorhomes
Any truck stop, but what do you need a Log Book for? Herman -
I have heard the cost but can't verify it, but from what I heard you might want to look to trade up instead. At the same time I have also heard great thing about Liquid Springs Herman

TX, Can't help on the grade on Hwy 26 but have been on Hwy 191 South from Jackson to Rock Spring. it is a good road and the grades are not bad. I-80 across Wyoming is a good road. We were in Cheyenne last month and the one thing I can tell you is that there is a lot of road work on I-80. The work didn't cause any major delays. (we turned south at York). Go and enjoy. Herman

Towing my Jeep Cherokee
hermanmullins replied to deb4branson's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
Deb, Is your Jeep Cherokee 4 wheel drive or front wheel drive? As Joe said check the dinghy towing chart. If it does not go that far back check with your nearest Jeep Dealer's Service manager not a salesman. Herman -

Clear20RV water filter
hermanmullins replied to renglish@sdccd.edu's topic in Water and Holding Tanks
renglish, As Carl said all charcoal filter need to be flushed before using. Most all the filter I have seen say to run 3 to 5 gallons of water through them when first installed. I have an old filter housing that I hook up my potable hose to and run 3 to 5 gallons of water through it. Then I will put the flushed out filter in my system. I have a filter like the Clear2O Rv & Marine inline Water Filter CRV2006. When I want to filter water from the potable water hose, I will do the same by running water through to filter till it is clear. That is a must on any and all charcoal filters. Good luck and let us hear from you again. Herman -
'06 Forest River Charleston:Generator slide drifts out while driving
hermanmullins replied to wtbuck12's topic in Slideouts
On our Monaco there are three valves with "Tee Handles" on them. our is right at the reservoir and pump. You might try losing each one and re-tightening them. This may un-stick the valve or loosen any debris that may keeping them from seating properly. Just thinking outside the box, good luck. Herman -

How do I Purchase Fuel without Dollar Limits
hermanmullins replied to jeffdaley's topic in Type A motorhomes
Rick, Most stations limit the $ amount of allowed per fill up. Your credit card may have a set limit also. Other than Love's or Pilot/Flying J there is only one that I am familiar with that let you fill up completely and it is QT (aka Quick Trip). At QT you can get a card at the fuel counter called "Pump Start". It allows you to completely fill your vehicle but then you must go into the counter and pay with cash, debit card or your credit card. QT is an Oklahoma based company but they have moved into North Texas. There are three in our area of north Texas. Herman -

I bet that was a lot of fun in stop and go traffic. Herman -
I plan on trying the new (to me) Ceramic Coating. I have looked at several YouTube videos and am a bit confused on how to apply it. One says to wash and dry the vehicle then spray it on and rinse with water and walla it there. Another says to wash the vehicle, then wipe the entire vehicle with denatured alcohol, then apply Ceramic coating then rinse it off. Not sure which method I will use, but what I am thinking is that I will do the front of the coach first, then drive it for a day then see how easy the bugs come off. That would be the test for me. I have also used Lucas Slick Mist and it does a nice job. Herman

Joe, I'm jealous, wish we were there. But we can't travel for at least 8 weeks. Bobbie goes in on Friday for knee surgery. She is having her left knee replacement. Herman

Towing a rav4 front wheel drive using tow dolly
hermanmullins replied to recruit4unow's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
Welcome to the Forum. All depends on several things. Is It automatic or standard? Is your dolly steerable or fixed wheels? Let us know and we can be of help. Herman -
Then you have Mold-Infestation under paint that will continue to grow. The best you can do, and a lot less expensive then painting, is to remove the DS and keep the front waxed and polished. Herman

OHIOLEDGEND, Welcome to the Forum. None that I know of will pay for a hotel. Maybe if you have trip interruption insurance but not RA. Herman

Have 8 of the 295/80R 22.5 TOYO M144 on our coach and they have proven to be very good tires. Herman
-
UH, please note that this topic is 5 year old. Herman

Both Hankooks and Continental are good tires, my preference is the TOYOs. Also much less expensive the Michelin's (half) and longer lasting. Herman

I know you are proud of your fathers Service. We all owe a large a debt of gratitude to those men and women of the GREATEST GENERATION. FYI, in Terrell Texas there is a section in the cemetery dedicated to the RAF Pilots that died there during Flight Training. There is a Great Britain Flag flying everyday. Herman

We have a Weber Baby Q. Had it for 15+ years at Camping World and still cooks great. All aluminum and can use the small disposable cans or 25 lb bottles with the adaptor hose. One of these days I might scrap off all of the build up, but it may change the cooking flavor. Light weight, maybe 10 lbs. We use it at home when not on the road. Herman
