  1. Jerri, Could it be possible that the circuits in the bedroom are in series with the GFCI plugs? Look to see if there are GFCI plugs, anywhere from two to three or maybe more. You can spot them by the reset button between the sockets. Press the reset and if you hear it click it was probably tripped. Hope this helps and that is the problem.
  2. ObedB, I'm a proponent of Firefox. I have used it on both Windows and MAC and it is the browser of choice. It has many add-ons that make it more attractive, like adblock plus and Ghostery (Both also available for other browsers) Just a matter of preference. I also keep Safari and Chrome as a spare in case something doesn't work. Not all programs are written for every browser so when there is a video that will not play on one or the other I just switch to one that does work for that video. It is not going to hurt the system to have both Firefox and Chrome on your system. Personally, IE is just so filled with useless stuff, but again that is my opinion. I never liked it on the Windows machine either.
  3. Dyson Animal V6 - What a great little vacuum. It only has about a 20 minute battery but it charges fast and the 20 minutes lasts for us to do the entire MH. We have an 80 pound Husky and the hair is, well everywhere. The Dyson Animal has many attachments and there is a small beater brush that can do car floors, trunks, and pick up any kitty litter you may have. Expensive little machine but worth every penny. IMO We also use it around the S&B for other small jobs. Big dust mop then vacuum the dust mop, great for rugs and other items. works great for the cars.
  4. I have been using he SMI Air Force 1 system for 8 years and switched cars during that period and switched the AF1 over. It has worked very well. Just connect the lines and go. Nothing needs to be put on the floor inside the car when you move - the system stays there. Good luck.
  5. Maureen, If you are traveling alone think about the chocks. Someone needs to keep their foot on the brake and someone needs to go out and put chocks under the front and back of the rear wheels - both sides. Be careful and stay safe.
  6. I'm not going to tell on myself! Sheesh! Let Todd and the Minions delete my wise-crack words of wisdom.
  7. I believe it and glad I told you about it. You'd still be searching for a spot. It's silly but that is the way it is in NE. Happy trails.
  8. ....so be careful what you post!
  9. Look under it and see if there is a big clamp looking thing around the drive shaft. Have someone engage and disengage the parking brake. If that clamp moves, that is the parking brake and it either needs adjustment or the pad needs to be replaced. If not, other help will be along.
  10. I got mine from miniinthebox.com. Yep, out of China, but what the hey isn't everything now-a-days.
  11. Yep! Experience varies considerably. I had Window computers since Window's for Workgroups and I think even on back from that. In all the years I let it update I never had a problem. Go figure. It just happens. Hey folks, even the MAC has a few problems with upgrades. In my case I have to go back in and reset everything that they think everyone wants as a general setting. It just happens.
  12. I also run Ghostery and it blocks trackers and ads. I very much dislike ads. Yep, people have asked me what I did at NASA and I have two stock replies. One is, "I was an astronaut, I took up space!" and the other, "I looked at porn all day" (Remember, forensic analysis on misuse cases. That wasn't the only misuse though.) For clarification I did do other IT functions but was the primary on misuse.
  13. p.s., I can't visit the site you listed because of all the ads it has. It wants me to turn off adblocker. No way Forbes, no way.
  14. Rich, I use a program on the MAC, and it is available for Windows, called 1Password for Windows. It keeps all your logins, software licenses (keys) and a bunch of other items. I have been using it for several years and it has been wonderful. I keep the "key file" in a place that any of my computers can get to it so that I have access no mater where I am or which of my computers I am using. My wife's iPad and iPhone are also liked to the key file. The key file is password protected by a very strong password. I have had to re-install a few programs on the MAC, and the key file has been invaluable in restoring the files. However, on the MAC there are other avenues that can be taken that are easy to retrieve software keys. Okay! Background. I worked for NASA as in IT Security Specialist and my forte was investigating misuse cases and performing forensic analysis on those cases. I WAS very familiar with Window platforms. At the S&B here I had Window computers. Anyone at that time could call me for help with a problem and in many instances I could help them from my arm chair in the living room. One time I help a friend when he trashed his video to a black screen and I did it from the arm chair without ever looking at a computer. I'm stating this for a point. In 2007 I retired. Later that year my wife retired and she asked if I would get her a MAC as a retirement gift since she used them in her earlier days and liked them. I did, I bought her a 24" iMac. I started using it and I finally kicked her out of the computer room, well, she just did an attrition on her own because I was always on it. I never looked back and I am so happy to have, even though more expensive, MAC systems. They are 99% less troublesome than Window Systems. Okay, I guess it's time to hear it from all the Window users. Funny that I still get calls for Window problems but I have not gotten a call for a MAC problem. Oh, BTW, we die have a few MAC's at NASA, quite a few. At the time MAC and Window systems did not communicate well with each other. Think Word, Excel, PPoint, etc. where one cold not be read on the other. (That was then!) So the CIO of the agency decided that all office users would use the Window's system - mostly for cost and a few of the graphic entities could keep the MAC. MAC had better graphics at the time whereas now they are fairly equal. Oops! Sorry for the rant. Try 1Password - it is a fantastic program.
  15. I'm thinking out loud here, but doesn't the '94 Southwind use a drive shaft parking brake? (Gasser maybe) Clamp goes around the drive shaft and the clamp has it's own brake pad. Yep, chassis make would help.
  16. Mike, Having traveled the NE states and having lived up there the first 18 years of my life (It was an accident of birth) you should really try and get reservations on any weekends you plan on being in the area. Especially for the 4th of July. The Northern states RV parks are season money makers and the workers are weekend campers. The campgrounds fill up and are reserved well in advance May through September - and parts of October. If you are able to make more trips I would count this trip as an excursion to see what areas you would like to spend more time at. It has been our experience that one could spend a month in each state and still not see all the wonders of that state. We have traveled several times from Texas to NE and Texas to West Coast and each time we have to make a list of those areas we wish to go back to visit again and spend more time. Being retired we do have a lot of flexibility. We specifically travel to Massachusetts now as I still have family in Central Mass. I am glad my brother has a driveway we can park in and use 120v electricity. Trust me, we have visited every CG within 50 miles of his house and we would not stay at any of them - well maybe for one night. I have heard a lot of good stories about Normandy Farms. Others will come along with some other recommendations for that area. We have stayed at the Freeport/Durham KOA. It was okay and it is about 8 miles from L. L. Bean flagship store. We will be arriving at Del Mar Beach the day you depart for the Right Coast.

There is a tape I call Plumber's Tape that when applied the only way to get it off is to cut it off. The link is for an aluminum tape but they make a rubber tape and it comes in different colors if you want to get pretty. Or, red for positive lines and black for negative lines. (DC only) Try a little piece around a finger and you cannot peel it off. To apply you have to pull it and it seals against itself. I never leave home without it. If you already have it spliced and don't want to cut and add heat shrink, the Plumber's Tape is the way to go. I do agree with Carl that heat shrink is the best way, and I also don't leave home without it either.
  18. For an asymmetrical, if that is what you are looking for, look could you move the opposite wipe the same number of splines to have them look alike when in the off position?

Mike, did you also tape the butt splice?
  20. Take the scenic route if you are not in a big hurry. Pick up Hwy 18 out of Niagara (look on map) to Lake Ontario State Parkway (or you could stay on 18). On to Hwy 390 than 104 to I-81S to I-84E and cross the Newburg/Beacon bridge. No tolls except there is one across the bridge, two axles more than 4 tires is $5.00
  21. Yep, the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge. I didn't find it bad as far as roads go and different times of the year you get a different feeling when crossing over. Sometimes the water is high, like now, and other times it looks like a dismal swamp. Lots of locals go fishing in that basin but I'm sure I'd ask for a guide trying to navigate those waters. I hope someone comes along with an update on the East side of I-10 into NO with road conditions. I'd like to know also.
  22. Joe, check with someone who has been on the east side of NO and I-10. The last time I drove it I was in a 5th wheel and I had to slow down to 25 mph because of the wavy road. I don't know if they have fixed it but an alternative way in would be better than that wavy road I was on back then. We have stayed at the New Orleans West KOA twice. Like other parts of NO, when you are driving to it you ask yourself, what am I getting into, but once we were in the park it was okay. I asked about security and the Host said they do not have a problem. That was then, it is now, now.
  23. And if the shift pad is lit, is it in neutral - could have been turned of with it in drive and it will not start unless it is in neutral. Just covering all the bases! Nah! Dash lights would still work. Forget it.
  24. We were headed to the East Cost and the ride from P'Cola to Carrebelle then to Mayport was a nice break in driving times and the trip down the Gulf Coast Highway was a nice scenery break.
  25. The only problem I can see is the connectivity. Sometimes you will have great/good connectivity and other times it could be marginal. Prices vary on ISP's when on the road. Welcome and good luck.
