  1. Bill, What is your time frame for being in Niagara?
  2. Best part of the signage is that at least it warned you. It's those rough roads with no indication at all. Least they could do is fix the potholes.
  3. It's called "Job Security," I-45 from Houston to Galveston: Workers have retired just working on that 40-50 mile of road.
  4. Okay, just call me dummy. What is the purpose of the track bar? (Duh!)
  5. What! Fast fingers. I would go to the beginning each time I logged on and read from the beginning. I'm a speed reader, don't-cha-know,
  6. I have had their product for 10 years and they stand behind their product. Great company.
  7. When I purchased my Blue Ox hey stated max of 3" drop. Call them and they will tell you the limits. With that small car and as low as it is I don't think it will stay above the RV back end.
  8. We travel extensively and stay at military facilities whenever we can. We have never found the conditions you described. Yes there are PX's and commissaries that are smaller than others and their stock is what is in demand for the facility. I do agree that some of the smaller ones stock a lot of alcohol but in my 23 years in the USMC I can say that military people do drink a lot so alcohol is in demand. In my younger days I would appreciate that. Now in my mid to late 70's I would rather see other items, but it is what it is. I will continue to support our PX's, BX's and commissaries with the hope they will never close. I do realize that one needs to shop wisely and look for bargains wherever they are.

Or, just about any shop that has that diameter pipe can cut it and weld a new section on. Then add a tip. I had a tip on my previous MH that started to show surface cracking and rust. I put a wire wheel to it then used 1500˚ flat black paint to paint it. Looked good. Nor shiny but didn't rust anymore. If you do get section welded on use Rustoleum High Temp paint to coat the welded area.
  10. We are traveling and once we leave visiting Disney World we head up the Eastern Seaboard. From Mayport Naval Station to Fort Belvoir, VA, we will stop and will include 4 other military RV parks. We will visit the PX's and Commissaries along the way. Not a great savings in the PX's as they all have premium quality items but no tax helps.
  11. Our Husky always closes two of the dash vents when she bellies up to the window. A diverter duct is really the better of the solutions.
  12. Brett, I'm not saying it is a reasonable option to have a portable AC but if one must a vent going to the outside would be better than letting it vent into the RV. Cracking any other window a fraction of an inch would prevent the negative pressure. In my RV the dash air keeps us cool and for the last 3 weeks we have been traveling in 90˚+ temperatures. When we stop for fuel and I walk to the rear of the coach it is very warm and humid so the humidity is in the coach. A portable unit would just suck that in and spit it back into the coach so If I HAD to go the route of a portable unit I would try and duct it to the outside. If the dash AC in his unit is not keeping the front seats cool enough it really needs to be tested. With the curtain described it should keep the front seat occupants cool. I use a thermometer in one of my vents and can monitor the air temp coming out. It's only 55 degrees with that stem thermometer but with the IR it is about 45-50. Cool enough to keep us cool. The diverter mentioned would be the simplest way. A cardboard box trimmed to fit under the vent and the other end past the slide with an open hole should do the trick. I would sure try that way before spending the money and energy on a portable unit.
  13. I would definitely make a cardboard or tin contraption with a hole in it to put in one of the smaller windows to vent out the humidity.
  14. In 1961 as a young LCpl (E-3) I got in line to get paid. When it was my turn the pay master said, "No Pay Due." They had overpaid me somewhere down the line by about $350. If it had not been for my folks and Earlene's folks and the Navy Relief Society we would have starved to death. Spaghetti with catchup and pinto beans were the daily meals. We had enough fuel for 3 weeks to heat the place. The other week we stayed in bed to keep warm. Of course that was fun. Earlene had to stay home, not working so she put up with it more than I did.
  15. Pay master for me in the early 60's was every 2 weeks.
  16. I use Wash-Wax-All, also. Really great product.
  17. Aw, you went back and edited it, I know. Thanks.

Big difference between tail pipe and tail pipe tip. Which is it?
  19. Roger, Thanks for the reply, I do understand what you are saying. Unfortunately I'm not an engineer and I have to look at the simple things and I am not able to perform forensic investigation on a tire. Now, if it is a computer I can do forensic investigation or could when I was an IT Security Specialist, A few years ago I posted a zipper blow out on an inside dual. Same dual that was flat in my driveway after taking it out of storage. It was 1000 miles or later that the blow out occurred, I replaced both duals on that side knowing that most likely the other may have weakened, I enjoy your blog, Thanks
  20. Probably keep a lot of people away also.
  21. Earlene asked me to vacuum once. When she saw me pulling on the cord to start it she told me to stop. I don't have to vacuum anymore. We worry about the pet, Miya The Dog. When we start our summer trip I use FrontLine as an added supplement to her oral medicines. So far so good.
  22. Never had to try that, but good to know. Both of our toilets are Tecma electric flush. However, if I hold both buttons in the toilet will flush, valves close and the water level is set when I release the two buttons. I keep the water just above the 1" hole.
  23. Good Sam Platinum is $145 a year and they will tow unlimited miles. Look it up.
