  1. Glad you got Carl's problem fixed. I made it down to RI today. Worden's Pond Family campground. Got hear about 2:00. Carl, did you get your EZ-Pass?
  2. What there are some projects that are easier and less complicated once you get into them? Bill
  3. Welcome to the forum. I would think that 10 years and 100,000 miles are the big milestones. The reason is after 10 years financing becomes harder. Some people are still of the opinion that 100,000 miles is to many miles. Although the RAM 3500 chassis is good for many more miles. Those are the 2 points I would try to sell or trade before. Bill
  4. That may be why they were so cheap. Bill
  5. Welcome to the forum. Most of the hubcaps like that that I have seen are inserted when the wheel is off. So I think you should be able to remove them by removing the tire/wheel. I can't give you a good answer to how to tighten them without seeing the part covered by the rim. There may have been a washer or shim to take out the play. Also I suspect is you are missing a small center that would cover the center hole. I think if you have the original part numbers you can find brake shoes that will work. If they were in good shape when you left I don't see them wearing out in 8K miles. Let us know what you find out. Where are you frome/headed? Bill
  6. Let's hope someone who is as passionate about fire safety takes up the cause. Bill
  7. How many miles on it? Who told you it was to worn out to unserviceable? Get the part number. Bill
  8. I wouldn't call anyone else. He is the go to RV fire safety guy. Bill
  9. One big step is the prep. Clean rough the surface and clean with acetone. Bill
  10. Do you have a part number? See if it matches any of these. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/mog-ds1215?seid=srese1&cm_mmc=pla-google-_-shopping-_-srese1-_-moog-chassis-parts&gclid=Cj0KCQjwitPnBRCQARIsAA5n84k1KUcRc56-xV6f6YN297ME7VESMZ584oD8NMssfc72qVzMM6N7XXwaAkaNEALw_wcB https://www.amazon.com/Moog-DS1277-Drag-Link/dp/B000HPVS9U/ref=asc_df_B000HPVS9U/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=312430092407&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=608927801916696976&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9002552&hvtargid=pla-571313355836&psc=1 You might find this helpful. https://www.spartanchassis.com/cps/login/UploadedFiles/D9834 IFS1200-1320-1370_3920091033404218750.PDF Bill
  11. I haven't polished the counter tops but I think it wouldn't be that different from polishing fiberglass gel coat. Remember the surface is relatively soft. Here is a video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2WmVQwkgcMk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vtwxR0b7F7I I would use a random orbit polisher to help prevent swirls in the finish.
  12. Building a vent through the door doesn't look that hard. Modifying the compartment to mount the water heater would be more of a problem. That is why I quit trying to make/do conversions. There is enough work just keeping something that was (semi) designed to be a motorhome working. Bill
  13. I would have just told the dealer rep"Get er done". You have much more leverage to get things fixed before you sign the final paperwork. Bill
  14. I don't think it would be that hard to vent through the door. Bill
  15. That is what I did and found a bad connection. Bill
  16. For that kind of money I could have upgraded my mobil condo and not be locked into one view out the window.😄 Bill
  17. Wen we were at a rest stop in Indiana this truck parked next to me. Brand new Freightliner rolling chassis. 2 smaller and one tag. What is systemic about quality in the industry is they don't paint or do any corrosion control. Look at the tag frame on the bottom. You can see the splice where they made it longer. Yet to cheap to paint it when done. Bill
  18. I agree with Herman. This is a day to remember those who gave everything so let's not forget their sacrifice. Bill
  19. I wouldn't spend money on any of these devices. For one my clearance is to close and I Have only been slightly stuck once in the last 6 years. I got out of that using cat litter for grip. I guess if I get stuck I will test my FMCA roadside assistance. Bill
  20. I don't have enough clearance in my wheel wells for the "truck claws". Bill
  21. No he told me he knew what he was doing.🤣 I have had to fight the mud before in different places. I try to stay away from the snow and ice. Bill
  22. How do they work in mud? Watched someone stick a 40' Tiffin yesterday he backed diagonally across the graveled area on his site and got in some soft stuff. The tred filled up and he couldn't get traction. I was out walking the dog and asked if he needed help and was told "No he knew what he was doing" So I just kept walking the dog. I might have learned something. They were stacking 2X6s to make 4X6s across in front of the tires that were 4-6 in down in the mud. Surprisingly the coach wouldn't climb out even with the throttle wide open. Bill
  23. So Sorry for your loss. Lets see if we can figure out how not to do that again. Bill
  24. I am not sure. I know it is the best I have found since I had access to milspec stuff. I use it on all the pins and pin holes in the towbar and any other place I need a dry film lube. Bill
