    Towing

I have read all the responses in this thread and I want to go back to your first question. First I would you take a deep breath and not get to excited by the coach the salsman is trying to sell you. It is nice but it may not be the best one for you. Have you driven a Newmar yet? I would try to find a Fortravel to test drive. Just to give you a better feeling for how different coaches drive. Back to the towing the jeep question. I don't think you will be able to tell it is back there unless you see it in the rear view camera. Bill
  2. That is about right. some coaches run a little cooler some a little warmer. I wouldn't get to worried till the temps get over 250. Keeping the radiator stack clean will help. Bill
  3. You have to be careful when going bigger. My coach started with the 255 80 22.5 and now has 275 80 22.5 and I am at the max I can run. Bill
  4. sbuck98, welcome to the forum. The schooners sound interesting. Bill
  5. I think the big takeaway for new people should be. Don't buy a coach based on the size requirements of a few campgrounds. There are always other places. Bill
  6. Compare them to your originals to see what the difference are. https://tiresize.com/comparison/ Bill
  7. Let's not forget those who gave everything so we can have so much. This includes first responders who run toward danger not away. Bill
  8. Ray I agree, I don't intend to be "camping" in 200 mph winds so probably don't need to be starting fires in those conditions.
  9. I want to order some of the "Mystical Fire Flame Colorant Vibrant Long-Lasting Pulsating Flame Color Changer for Indoor or Outdoor Use" listed below it. I wonder how it would look in a 200 mph wind? Bill
  10. Speck, on page 30 of the manual that Jim linked to tells how to read the codes and what they mean. Let us know what you find. Bill
  11. Welcome to the forum. If jleamont recommends them that is where I would go. Bill
  12. Remember they have a short "warm" season to work in. Most of the NE is like that with lots of bridge and road projects. Bill
  13. That and the signs telling you the road is rough. Realey, why not just fix the road/potholes. Bill
  14. I was there about a month ago. We camped in Freeport and drove down to the Kittering area for some shopping and lunch. Where were you? Bill
  15. Do they leave the toad connected on the ferry? Bill
  16. Thanks but he probably wouldn't like me. Now I tend to come in late take long breaks and a long lunch and leave earley. Bill
  17. I was here 10 days ago. https://www.wunderground.com/forecast/us/me/freeport/04032?cm_ven=localwx_10day Back in Ft Worth and it is definitely warm. Bill
  18. Like Brett said "first find out if your batteries are being charged." If they are you are done. If they are not being charged let us know and we can offer a simple fix. Where are you now? Is the coach plugged in? Bill
  19. You might want to go re read my first post and the OP hasn't responded to what he likes. Many people consider Freeport a major attraction with at least 83 outlet stores and is home to LLBean. Bean is a great store for those who like to shop at off peak hours as it is open 24/7. You can walk in at 2 in the morning and there will be someone to great you and ask if they can help. So just for you I will add a couple outher things/places of interest like Bradbury Mountain State Park, Route 9, Pownal, ME 04062, 207-688-4712. Desert of Maine 95 Desert Rd, Freeport, ME 04032, Yes they have sand dunes in Maine. The Fire Department Museum, 2 Main St. Freeport, ME 04032.
  20. If I was going to be full time in my coach I would upgrade to a 45. Don't let people talk you into a small coach. They usually say you need a small coach to get in to state and National parks. I have never had a problem finding a place to stay in campgrounds. My last trip was to more than 20 states and over 4300 miles North East. We stayed in 16 different campgrounds and didn't have any problems. My wife doesn't like to not have reservations so when we leave in 3 weeks for Minot ND for the rally we will have spots picked out. Let me know if you have any questions. Bill
  21. Lots of amazingly good places up there. But The Federal Hill neighborhood in Providence has more great Italian places than you can count. But back to the OPs area of interest. Here are some places in Freeport. For a good place to eat try Tuscan Brick Oven Bistro, 140 Main St, Freeport, ME 04032. tuscanbrickovenbistro.com There are lots of good places to eat like Jameson Tavern, 115 Main St, Freeport, ME 04032. jamesontavern.com. had a good pizza at Petrillo's, 15 Depot St, Freeport, ME 04032. petrillosfreeport.com. This one is close to the RV parking by the Bean outlet. Questions, just ask. Bill
  22. What do you like to do? I would start with Freeport (You could spend a week in Freeport) and The Portland area. Don't miss When Pigs Fly, 21 Main St, Freeport, ME 04032 one of the best bakeries in the area. Also The Maine State Aquarium, McKown Point Rd, West Boothbay Harbor, ME 04575. Or Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, 132 Botanical Gardens Dr, Boothbay, ME 04537. Brunswick, ME is another small college town with interesting shops and good dining places like The Great Impasta, 42 Maine St, Brunswick, ME 04011 If you want good Pizza try Portland Pie Co. in Brunswick or one of their outher stores. But what do I know it has been 3 weeks since I was in the area. Bill
  23. I would probably go with the M&G air system if I was doing it now. I realey did it backwards. I bought my towbar and brake system from someone who was not able to travel anymore, before I had something towable 4 down. Bill
