  1. dspalding1, Welcome to the forum. Yes using Simple Green Extreme is the preferred way. I have found driving through 10" per hour rain storms will do a amazing job of cleaning the CAC and radiator. The CR-V was covered in crud including the little chunks of oil/dirt from between/ in the radiator fins and CAC. If I had known I was going to run into that much rain I may have sprayed the CAC and radiator in advance. There was so much water spray coming through the radiator it looked like the car was in a wind tunnel. Other than that a annuel (minimum) cleaning and learning how to manually downshift will keep your coach running cool. Bill
  2. What exactly is a Dutch Aire refrigerator upgrade? Bill
  3. Welcome to the forum. Yes Why not? Yes that or run the generator. How big is the generator? The automatic transfer switch has nothing to do with charging the batteries. All it does is save you from manually selecting the power source. I had a 78 Executive, if you wanted shore power you plug the cord into the shore pedestal outlet. If you wanted power from the generator you manually plug the cord into the generator. Yes you will need the ability to charge your batteries from shore power and the generator. Bill
  4. 11/01/2012, Ok my certification may have lapsed by now.
  5. Just wondering who said that? Before I retired I had to get re certified in solder/soldering. I don't remember the technical term for the classification but it was a aircraft through space craft classification. Nearly everything was tined.
  6. Was the water on when you did this? Bill
  7. Does it have an exhaust brake? It might not be opening all the way. Bill
  8. Glad you got Carl's problem fixed. I made it down to RI today. Worden's Pond Family campground. Got hear about 2:00. Carl, did you get your EZ-Pass?
  9. What there are some projects that are easier and less complicated once you get into them? Bill
  10. Welcome to the forum. I would think that 10 years and 100,000 miles are the big milestones. The reason is after 10 years financing becomes harder. Some people are still of the opinion that 100,000 miles is to many miles. Although the RAM 3500 chassis is good for many more miles. Those are the 2 points I would try to sell or trade before. Bill
  11. That may be why they were so cheap. Bill
  12. Welcome to the forum. Most of the hubcaps like that that I have seen are inserted when the wheel is off. So I think you should be able to remove them by removing the tire/wheel. I can't give you a good answer to how to tighten them without seeing the part covered by the rim. There may have been a washer or shim to take out the play. Also I suspect is you are missing a small center that would cover the center hole. I think if you have the original part numbers you can find brake shoes that will work. If they were in good shape when you left I don't see them wearing out in 8K miles. Let us know what you find out. Where are you frome/headed? Bill
  13. Let's hope someone who is as passionate about fire safety takes up the cause. Bill
  14. How many miles on it? Who told you it was to worn out to unserviceable? Get the part number. Bill
  15. I wouldn't call anyone else. He is the go to RV fire safety guy. Bill
  16. One big step is the prep. Clean rough the surface and clean with acetone. Bill
  17. Do you have a part number? See if it matches any of these. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/mog-ds1215?seid=srese1&cm_mmc=pla-google-_-shopping-_-srese1-_-moog-chassis-parts&gclid=Cj0KCQjwitPnBRCQARIsAA5n84k1KUcRc56-xV6f6YN297ME7VESMZ584oD8NMssfc72qVzMM6N7XXwaAkaNEALw_wcB https://www.amazon.com/Moog-DS1277-Drag-Link/dp/B000HPVS9U/ref=asc_df_B000HPVS9U/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=312430092407&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=608927801916696976&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9002552&hvtargid=pla-571313355836&psc=1 You might find this helpful. https://www.spartanchassis.com/cps/login/UploadedFiles/D9834 IFS1200-1320-1370_3920091033404218750.PDF Bill
  18. I haven't polished the counter tops but I think it wouldn't be that different from polishing fiberglass gel coat. Remember the surface is relatively soft. Here is a video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2WmVQwkgcMk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vtwxR0b7F7I I would use a random orbit polisher to help prevent swirls in the finish.
  19. Building a vent through the door doesn't look that hard. Modifying the compartment to mount the water heater would be more of a problem. That is why I quit trying to make/do conversions. There is enough work just keeping something that was (semi) designed to be a motorhome working. Bill
  20. I would have just told the dealer rep"Get er done". You have much more leverage to get things fixed before you sign the final paperwork. Bill
  21. I don't think it would be that hard to vent through the door. Bill
  22. That is what I did and found a bad connection. Bill
  23. For that kind of money I could have upgraded my mobil condo and not be locked into one view out the window.😄 Bill
  24. Wen we were at a rest stop in Indiana this truck parked next to me. Brand new Freightliner rolling chassis. 2 smaller and one tag. What is systemic about quality in the industry is they don't paint or do any corrosion control. Look at the tag frame on the bottom. You can see the splice where they made it longer. Yet to cheap to paint it when done. Bill
