  1. Welcome to the forum. Yes that it is how a built in surge guard workers or a portable one. The fact that you have no delay when using generator power showes me it isn't your transfer switch. Bill
  2. I wish I could go just to attend that forum so I could learn how to navigate and participate in the Forum. I think it is a good idea. I also think the FMCA management should do a better job promoting the forum. Many never heard of the forum or how it can be used. Bill
  3. I would recommend taking all your cables loose (one at a time is best) cleaning and inspecting them for damage from corrosion. I would use a good dielectric grease when installing to prevent corrosion. Bill
  4. Just a comment on what Joe posted "The tail would wonder or wag if you rocked the steering wheel before." I have found this to be a problem when running different tires on the front than the rear. The difference in how the tires respond to input from road irregularities and steering input can be fairly dramatic. As I am sure Tireman9 can attest to. Bill
  5. I bought the RV Trailer Camper Cleaners 303 Aerospace Protectant because it was the one I saw at PPL. I didn't buy it there because they wanted $32.00. I think Amazon was about $18.00 for the same. Yes Let's hear what DD has to say. Bill
  6. Well since you got it out you have have the battle won. Look at the tags. Try a Google search. You can probbabley find one cheaper. Bill
  7. Ain't that the truth. My battery switches are in the overhead on the passenger side. Bill
  8. I have a Medicare Advantage Plan that requires a referral if out of my network except for emergency care. Never a problem. Bill
  9. I think it would be wise if you did a little research about all the people who have bought insurance/warranties and did not get satisfactory results when they had a problem. Little things add up, not paying the going rate for labor, parts, any shipping to get the parts to you, large deductibles just as a starter. Why would you need a add on warranty if you are buying new? Bill
  10. I bought some on Amazon. RV Trailer Camper Cleaners 303 Aerospace Protectant 16 Oz. They also have a cheaper one for vinyl and I don't know if it will work as well. 303 UV Protectant for vinyl, rubber, plastic, tires and finished leather, 16 fl. oz. Bill
  11. bamabob, Do a search as there have been several threads about warranties. Most will recommend taking what they are going to charge you and putting it in a savings account. I have had about $500. in payouts for things they cover (microwave) compared to the $4000. they wanted to charge me I think I am ahead. I do recommend you get a Roadside assistance plan, Coach Net or the FMCA plan. This will help in case of towing and breakdowns or flat tire. They will pay for the tow or to have someone come out but not the work. Bill
  12. I plan on going with Continental when I replace my tires. They are excellent tires. They also look to be cheaper using the new program. I have been lobbying Continental to expand their offering to be more competitive with Michelin and I need tires for my truck. Bill
  13. There are lots of systems that don't use the air from the coach. I am still using my old Brake Buddy. I don't know of one that works like trailer brakes. Bill
  14. Welcome to the forum. I would use a funnel and just trickle it in. Bill
  15. The same with I-30 between Dallas and Little Rock. The permanent construction zone TZSTRANGE, welcome to the forum. I think it is funny that they put up signage to tell you that the road is rough. How about just fixing the road. Bill
  16. The same with I-30 between Dallas and Little Rock. Bill
  17. Welcome to the forum. Go read the thread Jim has linked to, that should give you an idea. Bill
  18. I have dropped Coach Net and gone with the FMCA one. Keep in mind all this is is a service to find someone to come out or to tow you. Realistically with today's technology you should be able to do it yourself. In the bad old days you had a map and you had to find a phone and phone book to try to call someone. Especially when in a place you had no knowledge of. Bill
  19. Do you have this information on the 2017 Jeep Cherokee? This is from the 2017 FMCA towing guide. "Only four-wheel-drive vehicles with a two-speed power transfer unit can be towed four wheels down; before towing, see an authorized Jeep dealer for the Mopar flat tow wiring kit. It’s recommended to charge the battery of the towed vehicle while towing" I had the dealer install the baseplate and lights (Blue Ox) before I took delivery. I made it part of the deal. Your dealer will know someone locally to do the work. They don't do it themselves and you can't be the first wanting to tow a Jeep behind a motorhome to buy there. Bill
  20. See if you can take the latch out and repair it. I just broke the handle on my Splendide and had a hard time finding a reasonable cost replacement part. Finally got one from the manufacturer. Have you pulled it out and pulled the back off to look for data plates? Bill
  21. That is more like 11 years but lack of use/maintenance could be a problem. Bill
  22. I think obedb has the best idea. See if you can splice in a new section of cable and see if that works then worry about pulling a new cable. Bill
  23. First, welcome to the forum. I don't have any info on the Chinese made tires. If you ate sceptical about them I would change them. I would hate to be worried that the tires may blow out when I am trying to have fun on a trip. I like the prices in the Continental program better than what I see from Michelin. Any new tire will ride better than the old ones. You will never wear them out. If you do you will be one of the first I have ever heard of who wasn't driving commercially. Interesting, I did a little digging and found the Goodride tire was listed by the EPA as a low rolling resistance tire. Which doesn't mean to much as it appears from the list that nearly every tire is listed. https://www.epa.gov/verified-diesel-tech/smartway-verified-list-low-rolling-resistance-lrr-new-and-retread-tire Bill
  24. All the major roads have areas that need repair. I was on that section of I-40 from Williams to Amarillo in March and there are some rough spots. Just slow down till you get through that area. Next we will have people complaining because they are working on the roads. Bill
