  1. Best selection of beer in town. and they have nice vintage porta potties for your convenience. I would be shure to write it up in RV Park Reviews. Bill
  2. Welcome to the forum. If your daytime running lights are on your key is not in the right position. Bill
  3. My point is if they can't attract significant numbers of "C" owners who tend to be younger. How are they going to attract owners of pull behinds? The "B" class coaches tend to be more expensive and more likely owned by people downsizing. But there again they arn't doing a good job of attracting them. Bill
  4. I doubt this is a significant number when compared to the total number on the road. I still don't see that many Class "C" or "B" coaches at events. In Chandler I don't recall seeing any class C coaches and only a few B coaches. Some one has the numbers. Management needs to stop making excuses and start getting the job done. Bill
  5. Yes either find something that will tow more or find something lighter to tow. Sometimes you have to make compromises. Bill
  6. The next time it does this try this. turn the thermostat off now pull the front off the thermostat. Inside is a fuse. Remove the fuse (it wouldn't hurt to clean the contact surfaces) after a couple of minutes reinstall the fuse and see if that helps. If that doesn't help I would look at the 12V power supply. Bill
  7. I already got it in and replaced. But thanks for thinking of me. Bill
  8. Welcome to the forum. The big question is how much work/ maintenance can you do and how much will you need to have done. Personally I think this "Diesels are so expensive to maintain" is over hyped. Yes you have a couple more things to maintain but it isn't all that bad unless you have to take it some place and pay them $150.00 an hour. I think you are headed in the right direction as you can find some great used coaches out there. Bill
  9. When I setup my (new then) CR-V I ran a separate wiring harness for the lights. I had them install led lights so I was not in the stock wiring system. I had concerns about warranty issues. This way I was not tied into any part of the system. Look at the Blue Ox web site. Bill
  10. Welcome to the forum. I agree with Britt and Herman the first place I would check is the drive shaft. I would do this as soon as possible and limit any driving. Replacing bearings is cheaper than replacing the driveshaft. Bill
  11. New project completed. I broke the door handle on my Splendide washer/dryer. Well checked Camping World they quoted me a price of $173.00 for a little plastic handle. Excuse me it is an Assembly. Well went down to PPL and they could get one for $72.49 better but still stupid expensive. I decided to try calling Splendide and see what they could do. Ended up $50.00 shipped. Still stupid expensive for what it is but they have you. If you don't buy it your $1000+ washer is junk. Just wanted to give people a heads up to shop around. To be fair to Camping World I think they gave me the price for the wrong part. But still. Bill
  12. Is that why I can't get to 90? Bill
  13. I am with you Keon, I don't see any tow behinds trying to beat down the doors at FMCA trying to get in. I think if it passes you won't see any change. This could be some kind of a scheme to justify raising dues significantly. "well we did everything we could, even let towables into our hallowed halls." Bill
  14. We always do well at FMCA functions. I think they picked up 8 new members/coaches at 6 state. I am talking about when we are someplace outher than a FMCA function. The 8th to 11th of June they will be at The Choctaw KOA and I bet they recruit a couple new members from the people camped there. All you have to do is say HI. This is not being promoted effectively by FMCA as the parent organization. Bill
  15. Like Carl said the problem is the angles at the top and bottom. It has to do with how much overhang you have front and back. I hope you have room for a long ramp. When I was using a dolly I dragged it bad enough to almost hicenter the coach. This was just turning into a drive off a hi center/crowned road with a normally deep drain along the curb. Bent the drop hitch into a U. That is one thing, try removing your drop hitch it will give you a little more clearance. Bill
  16. Carl, I was parked a long ways from the FMCA groupe, so they didn't see my oval. I also didn't have on my FMCA shirt or anything to make them think I was with them. I can guarantee that if you are walking in the area around a RRR get together you will have someone speak to you and invite you to "happy hour". I must have looked to pore/scruffy and a like a tow behind owner to those rich people who had the big busses. Bill
  17. I don't have a problem when towing. But I do start the car when we stop for lunch. Just make sure you are in the acc position and not in the run position. This is from your owners manual page 335. When towing your vehicle for long periods, remove the 7.5 A Accessory Radio fuse to reduce drain on battery. This fuse is located in the interior fuse box and is shown as number 34. Only remove the fuse after you have performed the transmission shifting procedure, and the key is in the ACCESSORY (I) position. Store the fuse in an obvious location (center tray, coin pockets, etc) as a reminder to re-install the fuse before driving the vehicle. I also make sure all of your HV-AC switches are off and the air selector is in recirculated position. This cuts down on the exhaust smell getting in from the coach. Be shure you follow the procedure EXACTLY of shifting into neutral from drive ONLY. Bill
  18. As I posted before. Last Summer we stopped at the Amana Colonies RV Park & Event Center. There was a big FMCA rally going on while we were there. I thought I would see if anyone tried to recruit me. I walked the dog around the whole area several times and just strolled by. Only a couple people spoke to me. NO ONE mentioned what they were doing there or anything about FMCA. This is what is wrong, This is what needs to be corrected. The growth needs to come from the local clubs and chapters. Bill
  19. Chris, You will find nearly all tire dealers will inflate to the "sidewall" pressure. You will have to set it after you get home. Bill
  20. Welcome to the forum Norm, It is unfortunate that they are trying to move old stock on you. Hopefully you can get them swapped for newer/fresher ones. Have you looked at the 2 tire programs available to you? I am favoring the Continental program right now. The one big take away from all this is tires start to deteriorate when they come out of the mold. There is no such thing as "shelf Life" it is all the same. Keep us updated. Bill
  21. I keep advocating for a "towable option package" Where you could special order one with a towable transmission and base plate, lights ready to tow. Bill
  22. Ilike my Surge Guard portable for that reason. At Least 3 times last summer I had problems with the power ata site. Having the portable allowed me to go check a different site before I moved the couch. In one state park I tryed 4 places before finding good power. I know I probbabley need the practise backing in but. Bill
  23. Carl, It may never ride as smooth as your Cadillac. I know you know but a reminder for others who read this. Even when you have all the individual weights you will still use the heaviest on each axle to set the air preshure for that axle. When you add 10% for safety (depending on your weight) you may be back to close to what you are running now. I will be interested to see how the new tires affect your ride. Older tires tend to be harder and ride harsher than new ones. Bill
  24. I don't carry a spare. Keep in mind the spare is going to age out the same as your outher tires. I would put the money in a savings account. Bill
